Question - TVMW6 - Manually sync audio and video? No.70669
hurricane51  2017-03-31 16:37:55 ( ID:wvlp3krcken )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there a way to manually re-sync the audio track to the video track in an MP4 file? This is a breeze in Vegas Pro, but I don't see anything that seems to permit it in VMW 6

tkrave  2017-04-04 12:04:27 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can adjust the Audio Gap in the Cut Edit window to manually adjust audio/video sync issues.

Sorry so late in getting back to you. Thanks for the info -- I'll try the next time I need to sync.

Question - TMSR5 - Activation/Validation No.70661
ThisIsMyUserName  2017-03-22 00:14:18 ( ID:s9atscqcvuf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After activation/validation is already performed, can the computer be disconnected from the Internet?

As long as no updates are applied to smart renderer 5, the software is not moved to a new computer, the computer's OS/hardware is not changed, etc., will the software then function indefinitely after initial activation/validation, or will the software require the computer to be connected to the Internet periodically in order to continue functioning?

Thanks.

tkrave  2017-03-22 12:46:12 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It will need to be connected periodically, but once it's validated, you can disconnect it until it asks for validation.

ThisIsMyUserName  2017-04-15 20:13:36 ( ID:s9atscqcvuf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

That's pretty much a deal killer for me. That is ridiculous and inexcusable for software to require phoning in to Big Brother regularly or it'll stop working.

Activation by itself is not a deal killer. Revalidating if the software is being updated or moved to another machine is not a deal killer either. But this goes way beyond that.

George  2017-05-19 07:29:33 ( ID:gizj1inbaql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's not phoning in to "Big Brother", but to the company that made the program. No need to get paranoid. Having said that, it does make the program more difficult to use, but I guess it's an anti-piracy measure.

Question - TMSR5 - Shows on multiple desktops No.70652
asilentnoize  2017-03-19 08:34:34 ( ID:k2hrelvflho )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I run windows 10 and I use the Task View feature in which I have 3 desktops setup within for multitasking. I noticed MPEG Smart Render 5 shows up on all desktops and not just the one I load the program on. Will there be a fix for this in the future?

Question - TVMW6 - Simultaneous Encoding with Batch Encode No.70645
Mkens  2017-03-12 12:31:47 ( ID:v3qkxewwzul )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm taking .MTS files from a Panasonic AG-AC90 (AVCHD) and having to convert them to either an MPEG 1, 2, or 4(h.264). I have hundreds of hours to do.

My question is: how do I best approach maximizing my hyperthreaded cores (4) with the batch encode tool? I've upped the usable logical cores to 7 for my hyperthreaded quad core. Are there output settings aside from NVENC that would limit the amount of files able to be encoded at once? If I take one project of 15 clips to be transcoded into individual files (not combined) from TMPEG VM 6 and send it to the batch encode tool, should I see it encoding up to 7 clips at the same time?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to flesh out what I should expect to see and if I could be more efficient.

TMSR5 not support AC3 (Dolby Digital) 640kbps audio stream for output without re-encoding! Why??? It's standard bitstream for Dolby Digital audio format!!!

Please, fix it!!!

Anyone had any joy getting TVMW6 to open MKV containing VC-1 video in Windows 10?

Sergey  2017-03-11 18:46:29 ( ID:xbxgzw.iubw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I think, you must install and activate external VC-1 video codec into OS for this operation. For example FDDSHOW ( http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/ ). After insatall activate VC-1 codec in "Codecs" tab of Video decoder configuration interface ( http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/images/front1.png )

When I make on Audio Fade-In filter with duration just in 1 second for AC3 this leads to re-encoding whole audio track!!! Why??? This filter must take affect just for 1 or 2 seconds (depend of audio frame lenght. for AC3 it just 32ms!)

Question - TVMW5 BBS - AVI file import fails, force DirectShow OK - what happened ? No.70628
benoitm  2017-02-27 17:59:52 ( ID:7gl.ipsdl4a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This morning when I wanted to transcode a file using TVMW5, I got a green screen in the video preview: impossible to read the file. Until yesterday everything was working OK. Nothing happened in the system happened since (software updates, etc.) !
The "offending" files are .AVI encoded with Matrox I-Frame MPEG2 codec ("M701") and play just fine with a.o. Windows Media Player 12. There maybe other AVI codecs that yield the same result, but I haven't tested.
The same problem occurs when I try to open the file with TAW5.
The workaround found is to force DirectShow File reader, instead of leaving the default autoselected AVI File reader.

What's wrong ?
Where's the problem: a codec issue at OS level ? Should I reinstall the Matrox apps & codec ? (But the Matrox apps, as well as WMP12, can still properly play the fles)
A corruption of TMPGEnc apps ? But the problem is the same for TVMW, TAW, why ???

Is there any downside in using the DirectShow File reader vs. the AVI File reader (performance, quality ?) - platform is Win7 SP1

Question - TAW5 BBS - Audio Track Selection Doesn't Appear No.70627
hurricane51  2017-02-24 12:44:52 ( ID:bmcajo/ppzg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have several tracks with multiple audio tracks in each one. My global settings are set display the button to select the audio track, but without success.

The 3 audio tracks appear in the source page for each video.

Is there something simple I am missing?

tkrave  2017-03-22 13:38:13 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Does your menu have separate track menu pages, or is it top menu only? I believe the audio/subtitle buttons only appear on the track and popup menu pages.

Is it possible to convert Blu-ray project to DVD project ?

Blizzard  2017-02-13 02:02:22 ( ID:0qutv2teqd. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Have you clicked "Open with Conversion" on the main page ? Then you just open the BD project and change to to DVD with the drop down menu.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Audio video syc lost when playing on a dvd player No.70613
gstraub  2017-02-12 06:25:00 ( ID:fjsyaxxnyoh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Once an mpeg is encoded, the audio video sync goes off by 1/2 second when playback is from a DVD player. Playback on the computer is just fine, but the sync is lost when the file is played on a player. This is a new development. It has worked just fine for years. Until now. I suspect I have inadvertently changed a setting when I'm at the formatting step. I know how to adjust the sync before encoding, but then the resulting file will work on the player and not on the computer. Please help!!!

Question - TAW5 BBS - How to add long audio track to bluray overlapping all videos No.70610
Chris Lomont  2017-02-11 12:53:13 ( ID:0ooijz/wzt. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have created a Blu-ray from many old home movies, in 20+ chapters. They are silent. I want to add a single long playing audio track to play along with the whole thing, but cannot figure out how to do it. If I add the audio to the first chapter, TMPGEnc TAW5 simply resizes the first clip to as long as the audio.

Is there a way to do this? I do not want to hand split the audio into 20+ pieces and add one at a time to tracks (plus that would likely have audio gaps).

Thanks!

Blizzard  2017-02-12 05:28:17 ( ID:0qutv2teqd. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi. Not sure if I can help but I will try. First can you clarify, do you mean you have 1 long file within 1 track that is chapter marked 20 times, or do you mean you have 20 different files within 1 track (thus making every clip a chapter) ?

Chris Lomont  2017-02-12 05:57:55 ( ID:0ooijz/wzt. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have 20 video clips, set as 20 chapters. I want to take a long list of songs, merge them into one audio, and have them play while the 20 video clips play.

Cutting the audio into 20 sections would be a pain, and I suspect would be hard to get to sync nicely at the boundaries.

Blizzard  2017-02-12 10:46:32 ( ID:0qutv2teqd. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Have you thought of authoring the disc first without your music track (no need to do a menu at this stage) and then because it will join up all video clips in to 1 big file (output to blu-ray folder), you could then import that in to a new project, then chapter mark each video, this will then show your video as one long clip but still with it chaptered in to 20 different points. Because it is now one long file you can add a long music track to it.

Just an idea.
