Question - TE40 - Want to convert mp4 video file to mpg file for burning No.70585
johndoc  2017-01-07 01:57:27 ( ID:fndw3/sduon )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress & TMPGEnc DVD Author 3

For years I have been using TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress to convert video files to mpg format suitable for burning DVDs in TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring.

Now, I find that this product cannot convert mp4 video files to mpg format and so I cannot make DVDs from mp4 video files.

Can you please advise me how I can use my existing TMPGEnc software products with mp4 video files?

Also, I have been reading on the Pegasys website about the TMPGEnc PGMX Creator software.

Can you please advise if this 'PGMX' software can create and burn DVDs from mp4 video files?

Thank you for your assistance

johndoc

Were you able to convert mp4 files before? I don't have an issue converting mp4 to mpg for DVD in 4.0 XPress. What version are you using?

PGMX Creator does not create DVDs; it creates a proprietary format called PGMX which basically works like DVD/Blu-ray but is primarily for playback on a computer or Android/iOS device via the PGMX Player software.

My vmw5 has started to exhibit an error message "failed to execute the bridge system (5-5)" when I attempt to edit an flv file. How can I correct this??

Question - TAW5 BBS - Specifications for BD-MV source video? No.70581
Alexander  2017-01-04 22:57:43 ( ID:wmjblqslemn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello to you all Pegasys guys!
Who can tell me the right specifications for BD-MV source video files?
Because of I produce BDMV file from Sony VideoStudio but AW5 tells me that it needs to reconvert it (no smart render, red sign)!..

Persen  2017-02-09 23:03:58 ( ID:6tr/46zxmom )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Creating the videos as M2TS files with H.264 MPEG-4 AVC codec, might get you a step closer to smart rendering in TAW5.
That is the standard used for Blu-ray.

Question - TVMW6 - 720p/59.94 to 720p/23.976 with or without AVISynth No.70569
Cubdukat  2016-12-22 02:25:45 ( ID:8pc1vsvthth )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have been using MeGUI for several years to convert 720p/59.94 TS files to 720p/23.976 Blu-Ray compatible m2ts files, but I would like to switch that over to TVMW6 because MeGUI is no longer being supported, and I'm already using TVMW6 to encode 1080i/29.97 to 1080p/23.976 to take advantage of QuickSync acceleration.

When I used TVMW5 previously, I was able to take AVISynth files into it with the decimate parameters intact, but TVMW6 can't load AVS files as far as I know. Is there a setting within TVMW6 that will allow it to accept AVS files, and if not, can the decimation be done from within TVMW6 and how would I do that?

tkrave  2016-12-23 13:47:01 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I was able to import some test avs files into TVMW6. You just have to make all files visible in the file selector window and select your avs file.

Drag 'n drop also works.

Question - TMSR5 - No Smart Render-able Clip No.70555
criggs  2016-12-08 09:47:41 ( ID:1qmif0qdywc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've been very impressed and very happy with Smart Renderer 5, for the most part. I've pulled a bunch of different kinds of files into it, and it has managed to smart render my edited versions in most cases without a problem. Furthermore, I've given it a few mix-and-match jobs, where the Master clip had radically different codecs and/or resolution from some of the Rescue clips, and yet, every time, I've gotten a smooth render of the combination of the two or more files; very impressive.

However I've also been experiencing an intermittent problem with Smart Renderer 5. About once every five files or so, Smart Renderer 5 will simply reject the file I'm trying to work with. I'll get the following message: "There is no Smart Render-able clip in the Source. It is necessary to add one clip that can be smart rendered at least."

What do I do about this? What do I have to do to make the clip acceptable to Smart Renderer 5? For the record, the last file where I had this problem was an flv file with the following stats:

VIDEO:
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
Resolution: 1280x738
Display Resolution: 1280x720
Frame Rate: 29.970389
Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV
AUDIO:
Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
Channels: Stereo
Sample rate: 48000 HZ

The video playback speed was 1937 Kbps and the audio playback speed was 108K, for a combined playback speed of 2045Kbps.

I'm hoping this is a problem with which many of you are familiar, and that there is a successful workaround for it. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

criggs  2016-12-09 12:51:10 ( ID:1qmif0qdywc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well, I found out what was causing the problem, but I have no idea how to fix it. Does anyone here know what to do about the following problem

I opened up the Clip Properties and discovered that they listed there why Smart Renderer 5 was saying that this clip was not Smart Render-able. The reason listed was low_delay_hrd_flag = 1 (Not Supported).

I have no idea what that means. Does anyone here know what that means? And does anyone here know how to fix that? Thanks for any help!

Question - TE40 - dimensions change No.70539
Valerio  2016-12-02 10:09:14 ( ID:s5rqr717es2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello. I've converted a film like I always do but this time the screen has come to be very much smaller. I'm asking myself why given that the dimensions are like the original ones, 720 x 576.

tkrave  2016-12-02 13:55:09 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What are the dimensions of the output video? Is there a difference in pixel aspect ratio?

Question - TVMW6 - Adobe Media Encoder vs TMPGEnc 6 No.70534
George Angeludis  2016-11-24 06:10:00 ( ID:vqwvmukfoko )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am loyal to TMPGEnc but the fact that Adobe Media Encoder encodes at 5 minutes a UHD mp4 file while TMPGEnc I just bought does it at 40 minutes is a shock. Please do something to speed up the process.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Encoding has become very slow No.70533
gstraub  2016-11-21 04:30:41 ( ID:fjsyaxxnyoh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My Mastering Works 5 encoding seems to have become very slow recently. Short, 10 minute clips now take 45 minutes and more. The slowness does not seem to be based on the type of file I have inputted, but an MP4 seems to be a major offender.

Can someone enlighten me, please? Have I possibly changed a setting, accidentally, or something?

Please help, and thank you very much.

G

Question - TAW5 BBS - Why STILL no DTS? No.70519
KevMull  2016-11-08 05:42:55 ( ID:zqkpo9x8l/m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

STILL there is NO DTS/DTS HD or Dolby True HD support....WHY????

DD5.1 640kbps went out with DVD.

Time to get with the times Pegasys your products are looking dated

Persen  2016-11-14 21:55:03 ( ID:6tr/46zxmom )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Because if they had the support for DTS and HD audio, then you would have to pay up to 5 times as much for the Pegasys software.
Why do you think that all the other editor and authoring software who do have the support is so darn expensive?

Besides, their software was not created for some one like you to be working with all the illegally downloaded Blu-ray rips of yours. It is mainly focused on working with home videos that people filmed using their own video cameras, where the typical audio in those are standard Dolby Digital 2.0 or 5.1

If you don't like it, feel free to pay the $500 to $2000 for the software to get your precious DTS and HD audio support. No one is forcing you stick with the software from Pegasys.
