Question - TME1 - Slow No.54437
Bubs  2005-12-24 08:58:47 ( ID:ep3temuljcc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

is there any way posssible to speed up the analyzing? only thing i did was resize the video and im doing it on tons of tons of videos and it takes about 2 1/2 hours each movie. just wondering if there is a way to speed it up. thanks

1.9 ghz
1 gig ram

Dan Witzel  2006-01-08 18:57:52 ( ID:7xy/uyj.kjh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

resizeing ttakes up a fare amout of cpu power and alalyzing actually encodes the video (look for the hidden temp file) at full quality then decides which parts it can pull for the 2nd pass. so the ony way you can speed it up is to a) have the resize turned off of b) the source is already the proper size. if you are worinkg with 720x480 film :) then you are stuck like chuck

Question - TE25 - New to TMPGEnc No.43539
DLuksa  2005-12-23 16:45:46 ( ID:4y2retwjsvg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am new to this program and am a very green novice in need of direction. I am trying to convert a MWAV file from Windows Movie Maker to MPEG. When the conversion reaches 100% everything just stops. I see from a previous post that it is writing the headers. How long should that take? I have left it for over an hour with no change. Will I get a message when the conversion is finished. I have tried exiting and burning my VCD but the movie freezes up in various frames. I would appreciate any help you can offer. I have been working on this for days and need it for a Christmas gift. Thanks.

ashy  2005-12-24 20:11:19 ( ID:/larvwb4b.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It shouldn't take long to write the headers, but it depends on your system. We're talking less than a minute here.
Best thing to do is set the end point of the file a second just before it finishes using the source range function and raise the priority of the 'Directshow file reader' in the VFAPI plugins to top of the list.

Question - TE25 - Backwards and upside down video No.43533
sticman  2005-12-20 16:34:30 ( ID:wtt3ptvlnbc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

I wrote this as a reply to a previous problem earlier, so maybe it didn't get noticed. Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Hello,

I am attempting to convert .mpg files to a smaller size for playing on a portable device, with PocketTV. The video comes out backwards and upside-down. I tried all 3 things from the other post about this problem, and it is still the same. Any other ideas? Thanks.

sticman

ashy  2005-12-20 19:21:51 ( ID:/larvwb4b.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Use the flip option in FFDSHOW. You will need to make the 'Directshow file reader' top priority in the VFAPI plugins first.
If it's MPEG 1 then you could make the 'MPEG 1 file reader' top priority or if you have the plus version the 'CRI sofdec decoder' top prority.
At least one of these options should work if not all 3.

sticman  2005-12-21 02:15:30 ( ID:muyrjsj0ko. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi ashy,

I tried them, no go. I only have the free version, so I couldn't try the 'CRI sofdec decoder.' I tried putting "Microsoft MPEG-1 Decoder" top priority, no change. Then I installed FFDSHOW, checked the 'flip video,' and moved "Directshow Multimedia File Reader" to the top. Still no change. I even unchecked everything else. I noticed that MPEG-1 input was not allowed when I unchecked everything but "Directshow Multimedia File Reader." Is it possible that FFDSHOW doesn't accept MPEG-1 as input? Also, I noticed that it's just upside down, not backwards. I downloaded a trial version of TMPGEnc express and it seemed to work on that, but that will only last for 2 weeks. I can't afford the $70. :)

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

sticman

ashy  2005-12-23 13:10:53 ( ID:/larvwb4b.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can download the plus version for free with a 14 day trial. That will allow you to use the CRI sofdec decoder.

My guess is you have a codec pack installed on your machine which is using a filter that is causing this problem. Does it happen in normal playback through mediaplayer?

You have 2 other options, you can frame serve through AVIsynth with a simple script or you can frame serve from Virtualdub.

Mediplayer 6.4 will tell you which filters are being used for playback in it's properties.

sticman  2005-12-28 23:16:08 ( ID:wtt3ptvlnbc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi ashy,

I tried it on a different PC and it works fine, so I think you are right. I believe the problem is with the Sony VAIO Zone software, which probably installed a codec that doesn't get along with TMPGenc. Unfortunately, I can't get rid of VAIO Zone, so I will just have to use a different PC for TMPGenc. I have used GSpot to list the codecs, and nothing seems to be amiss. I tried framserving from virtualdub, and I didn't have time to try a whole file, but I will probably just use the other PC, as it is faster anyway.

Thanks again for all your help.

A simple script in Avisynth will solve all your problems. Just use the FLIP VERTICAL() command or you you could probably solve it by using the CONVERTTOYUY2() command.

Question - TDA1 - need serial number for TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 No.49453
Dave  2005-12-20 12:11:32 ( ID:zy12ltagv.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

I need to reinstall my copies of TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6, as well as the Dolby Encoder. I have purchased these items, but I have misplaced the serial numbers for both. I have printed them out in hard copy, but cannot seem to find them.

Are the serial numbers found within the program somewhere once registered? I checked the "About" portion of the software, but no serial number was listed. Is there somewhere that these numbers can be found?

I would go through support at the main site, but, they require a serial number to get tech support for the product, and obviously, I don't have it. Please help.

Thanks.

Dave

Hi,
My computer crashed and I lost my copies of TMPGenc 2.5 and DVD author 1.5.
I also lost the serial number for both products. Could you verify my purchase and send me the required serial numbers.
Thanks

Question - TE30 - TMPGEnc Bitrate Limit No.53515
Penguin  2005-12-16 14:02:12 ( ID:ebyndiiwonl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I own TMPGEnc Express and have used it successfully for many years to enocde DV AVI files to MPEG2 program streams. I wanted to re-encode HD MPEG2 transport stream files (CBR 25000) to HD MPEG2 program stream files (same bitrate). The program allowed me to input an HD MPEG2 transport stream file, but the encoding engine only allows CBR bitrates up to 15000. Is this an artificial limit, or is the program simply not written to handle bitrates higher than 15000?

ashy  2005-12-24 20:24:54 ( ID:/larvwb4b.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Not sure about the express version as I don't use it, but the limit is set by the Profile & Level you are using. If you want to go higher you have to use a higher profile. I doubt TMPG express has this facility only TMPG plus.

Question - TME1 - Editing HDV No.54434
Penguin  2005-12-16 13:49:47 ( ID:ebyndiiwonl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I own TMPGEnc MPEG Editor, and have successfully used it to edit HDV files. It input the HD MPGE2 transport stream files from my Sony HD camcorder, edit them, then create HD MPEG2 program stream files with a minimum of re-encoding. However, I don't see this capability in your list of features - did TMPGEnc MPEG Editor create my HD MPEG2 program stream files correctly but you just don't advertise this feature, or are these files corrupted in some way?

Penguin  2005-12-16 14:22:56 ( ID:ebyndiiwonl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Note that TSUNAMI MPEG Media Editor does make it clear that it supports HDV files, and will save them to HD MPEG2 program streams. Is the TMPGEnc MPEG Editor exactly the same product without the box, so it works in exactly the same way.

And why isn't the TSUNAMI MPEG Media Editor available for download?

Question - TE25 - screen caps No.43531

thanks in advance
Sandra

ashy  2005-12-15 20:39:12 ( ID:/larvwb4b.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes.
Load the source, set the resolution you wish to capture at then click File>preview then move to the frame you want and right click on it and select 'copy to clipboard'.
Paste into any image program.

Question - TE25 - Mr. No.43528
sergiobn  2005-12-13 15:08:42 ( ID:cqjtv45m.u6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I use TMPEnc Plus 2.5 and it was running ok for several months.
But now, when I start encoding a movie, when the progress bar reaches 100%, it stop and freeze. I have to force quit the application. And the resultin mpeg file runs without any audio.
I have unistalled TMPGenc and re-installed it again, but the problem remains.
What is the problem here?

ashy  2005-12-13 18:17:22 ( ID:/larvwb4b.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just leave it. You need to give it time to write the headers. Go and have a coffee or somthing as it can take a while with some files.
Either way that won't be the reason you have no sound, that is another problem. Probably aa source that TMPG can't decode such as AC3 or sometimes even VBR Mp3.

sergiobn  2005-12-14 14:05:18 ( ID:cqjtv45m.u6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

But the source file I was using is a Quicktime movie, with the same codec I always use for years. In the past I had no problem at all.
I had never to wait too long for the application write the headers.
It is a strange sintom.

Cange the audio output to MP2 instead of PCM.

Question - TE25 - No audio when converting rm files No.43520
Frylock  2005-12-11 01:06:17 ( ID:gen7kypplum )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

For some reason when I convert rm to mpg I get the video but no audio. Does anyone know why?

Lee  2006-01-11 18:13:11 ( ID:mzfgfu1e29o )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I had the same problem the first time. Did you ever solve the problem ?

Thanks,
Lee

ashy  2006-01-11 21:12:40 ( ID:/larvwb4b.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPG is unable to decode RM audio. You will need to convert the audio to wav first.

Lee  2006-01-12 03:43:07 ( ID:mzfgfu1e29o )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well,
That's fine, but the movie is one avi file. Can I pull the audio out ?

teac  2006-02-17 14:54:14 ( ID:pfb7dxe9dso )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

use goldwave then save audio as wav or mp3 then multiplex it in tmpgenc with your rm video already converted to m1v
:)

ling_lol  2006-03-08 09:53:54 ( ID:yn4apa.dher )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

any other softwares to convert RM audio file? not so familiar with Goldwave...
