Question - TE25 - I can¡t even open a MPEG No.24506
Donovan  2002-07-06 00:14:35 ( ID:0onycomlewl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well, like it was said in the title , i can¡t even open the mpeg...when I try to do it, some mistake happens, and the windows close the program...
I don¡t know if I have it "wrong installed", but I¡m sure that I¡m not the only one with that problem...
But there must be someone with the answer, and that¡s what I¡m hopping for.
Thanks and Farewell.

Minion  2002-07-06 05:52:39 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You have to have the mpeg2 plugin installed and adjust the priority high enough to read the file, and it helps ,especially with mpeg2 to de-multiplex the file and load it in seperately, but if you keep haveing problems just frame serve it from "dvd2avi"...

krunch  2002-07-05 23:21:56 ( ID:84wcipvtpjl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When encoding a divx 5 into mpeg vcd i get this error

Index of scan line os out of range(240)

I have converted many movies using tmpg and never see this error
what is the error and is there a work around??

ASHY  2002-07-06 08:54:29 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The Divx is corrupt. You maybe able to frameserve it with Virtualdub to TMPG or if not use Virtualdub to scan for bad frames and repair the bad frame.

ASHY  2002-07-05 22:09:51 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is this a TMPG error or a windows error?

ASHY

Lucegost  2002-07-06 14:27:34 ( ID:lf8bomhf4rj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

As far as I can tell its a TMPGENC error. The only time I see it is when encoding.

ASHY  2002-07-06 15:41:56 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What is the exact error and what is the resolution of the AVI.

ASHY

Lucegost  2002-07-09 01:24:45 ( ID:lf8bomhf4rj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The first time I got the error 16 16 the resolution is 570x240. This is the number I found at the top right of the window along with the FPS. I tried to encode the file this time and got a error 537403781 180576. However this time when I tried the file I changed the aspect ratio setting to full screen keep aspect ratio. Do you have any ideas?

ASHY  2002-07-10 18:50:09 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok, this is just a shot in the dark, but error may relate to the resolution of your AVI.
The resolution of the AVI is illegal. All AVI's and MPEGs need to be in multiples of 16 which means that both the horizontal and the vertical should be able to be divided by 8.
Your AVI is not and what I think the error is trying to tell you is that it isn't in a multiple of 16.

The nearest legal resolution is 576x240. It also looks like your file is Anamorphic and is in Cinemascope.
You will have a hard time getting the correct aspect ratio with this file as TMPG doesn't have a setting for it. You will need to use the 'custom' setting for the screen size which will allow you to adjust the image until it looks right.

First you will need to adjust the resolution with Virtualdub and then frame serve it to TMPG.

This should get it working ok.

Question - TE25 - need help when i start up tmpgenc major bug or something! No.24495

ok whenever i start up tmpgenc and and load an avi file it always says that it cant load up avi file its not suporrted or cannot open? what am i doing wrong? can i fix this please helllppppppppp thanks

Minion  2002-07-05 22:06:38 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This is the Most common newbie question, and to fix this problem you have to raise your "direct show" vfapi filter, you do this by going to "options" to "enviromental settings" to "vfapi plugins" then raise the "direct show file reader" to a priority of "2" and lower every thing else to "0" this should get your avi file loaded ,plus make sure you have the right codecs installed on your system...

Question - TE25 - Cannot see 'DVD2AVI Project File Loader' under Options No.24491
rippersrus  2002-07-05 14:34:37 ( ID:2ockezqd.wr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Cannot see 'DVD2AVI Project File Loader' under Options.... Where do you find it ?

Alternatively, how do you set a video source as a d2v file in tmpgenc ?

Followed instructions from :
http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/dvd2vcd_with_smart_dvd2avi_tmpgenc.cfm

ASHY  2002-07-05 20:23:52 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

First copy this file DVD2AVI.VFP from the DVD2AVI folder into the TMPG folder where the TMPGenc.exe is located then load your d2v file into the Video source box.

sebek  2002-07-05 09:08:16 ( ID:.8j5gbg3slo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I converted a couple of times the movie Shrek with different bitrates. After some tries wizard showed me that file is even below 600MB, but I still get 840MB file. What is wrong?

sebek  2002-07-05 15:10:22 ( ID:.8j5gbg3slo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Now I know how to do that, you have to go to Setting, chose the System and then you have to change Stream Type - MPEG1 system (Automatic).

ASHY  2002-07-05 20:30:55 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If you are intend to make VCD's from these MPEG1 files then the correct stream type is MPEG1 VCD(non)standard otherwise padding will be added to your MPEG regardless of the bitrate you choose.

If you have already encoded the file you can remove this padding by running the MPEG through the MPEGtools simple multiplexer and choose the MPEG1 vcd(non standard) as the type and the MPEG should reduce in size.

Play dumb if you choose Techno, but changing your IP isn't fooling anyone on this board.
I know it's you as I have been tracking your movments on this board since you decided to show your self on here again.
You will never change will you, pathetic I'd say.

As for your sad comments Griff, I'm not even going to bother retorting this time, I don't have time for retards with a such a low level of intelligence.

Question - TE25 - trouble with wav files No.24461
Didi  2002-07-04 20:39:53 ( ID:bduf2unj0c2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hello,

i¡m trying to multiplex an mpeg video file with a wav audio file but tmpgenc won¡t open the wav file, it only allows mp2/1/3etc... to multiplex.
someone please tell how can i do this,

thanks,

didi.

Minion  2002-07-04 22:13:30 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can"t multiplex "Wav" audio to a mpeg file with tmpgenc or any software I have heard of,cuz there aren"t many formats that support mpeg video with wav audio ,some DVD"S do but very few,and svcd"s and vcd"s have to have mp1 or mp2,so the only way you are going to get audio muxed with your video is if you encode the wav to mp2 or to ac3 which is what most dvd"s are....

ASHY  2002-07-05 20:50:26 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

MPEGs do not support Wav audio multiplexing.
DVD authoring programs do allow PCM audio with MPEG2 as an audio track.

ASHY

Griff  2002-07-07 15:28:11 ( ID:hrx7erbzyah )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If by multiplexing you mean edit the sound into the picture you need to use a program like Adobe Premier - not cheap - but if you can get a copy it will let you do what you want.

Otherwise minion's suggestion of the mp2/mp3/ac3 would be an alternative.

Griff
