I've gotten the same error as Jonger and will try thr DirectShow changes - but I'm not sure what you mena by tick/untick all of the quantize matrix settings. Please simplify for the inept such as I: Should the boxes have chack marks beside them when I'm done or not?
Ive been downloading Lord Of The Rings(Screener) and am finding that part2,3 and 4 are not encoding audio wise! It starts ok then after about 30secs the sound starts going all distorted and then cuts off every few mins!! Does any1 know whats wrong? And do you know how to fix this problem?
PLEASE!
Hi im trying to convert a .avi file but when i browse and load file it loads video and audio file ok...but then when i click run...it says cant load p3 package...what does this mean...please...
paul...
it means ur not set up for mpgs!! Go in2 ur enviromental setting and put everything to 0 and put the direct show to 2!!!! I was also wondering if u know how to change films from full screen to widescreen?
well the p3p package optimizes tmpgenc to work better with pentium 3,to get rid of this error go to "enviromental settings" and to the "cpu" tab and un-chech every thing there, this should work.......
you all seem to know your stuff, so i have a question. what is the best software to use to create vcds? i want to make them with menus and chapters, I have looked around and there are so many options all with good things to offer. I have a whole bunch of programs now and dont know which i should turn to.
where should i turn???
Since I think Tmpgenc is much better than Cinemacraft Encoder SP (even if it's a bit slower) I would like to see a function like.
Multipass VBR just like the 2-pass VBR that you can select today but with a option to select like 3-pass or even up to 6-pass VBR when you want to encode.
I don't know if 5-pass is better than 2-pass VBR ? anyone know what % inprovment you would get if you used that instead of the standars 2-pass ?
People have told me that the quality is better ? Is it really ?
you mean 10 times slower,it takes me 18 hours to do a 1 1/2 hour movie but cce does it in real time or faster, but you are right "tmpgenc"is an over all better encoder for personal use,and you can"t beat the price ,compared to $2000....
I downloaded QTREADER.VFP stuck it in my TMPGENC folder but get message saying "does not support this format" when trying to convert .MOV to .MPG (VCD standard).
Yes they are as long as you use the standard .mfc files (templatest) and you can change some options but if you encode a file and then burn it with let's say NERO burning rom, and mark that you want VCD 2.0 complianc nero CHECKS the mpg file and will say "all oki" , in other words, nero will allways tell you if a mpg file you want to burn in VCD or SVCD is compliant with the standard :)
And btw, use "track-at-once" burning for maximum compability with standalone players and don't burn Faster than 4x if you can, and do a "check copy" to the Harddrive afterwords, my experience is that sometimes the burning gets "crappy" on "cheap" cd-r discs or something.

actualy nero will let you burn non compliant vcd"s as long as they are the right frame size and the audio is the right format,I do vcd"s at 2000kbs and nero says they are compliant, but the standard is 1150kbs,at even 5000kbs nero burns them without a fuss.....
I have downloaded the last TMPGEnc version (2.53) and the VFAPI Plug-in (I have already registered it). Nevertheless, I can't process movies from AVISynth since TMPGenc shows this message when trying to acces the .avs file
"file not valid or unsupported"
What can I do to solve this problem? what else do I need?
