Question - TE25 - TMPGEnc 2.53 lightens the AVI to MPEG2 file No.18011
stefany  2002-04-03 23:54:16 ( ID:rvc5r/0flnm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well I wanted to store my large DV AVI files as MPEG2s and use TMPGEnc to do it.....but I found that TMPGEnc brightens the video oh so slightly on each encoding. Techno guy confirms this also. So that means if, in the future, I want to edit different versions of a file stored...then it would pass through
TMPGEnc twice and be brighten twice. UUUgggh! Need to use another MPEG2 encoder that doesn't brighten each time you encode!!! Any suggestions?? Steve

Just use the custom/basic colour crrection filter in teh advacned settings to brighten it down.

Harley  2002-04-04 15:17:55 ( ID:ipb7t2avhyg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I had a similar problem, with a few vob files. I downloaded the latest version of TMPGENC and rebooted my computer, worked fine after that.

sherlock  2002-04-05 00:03:50 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It must be the buffer underflow error,I only get this error when I use the vfapi converter to make fake avi."s..........

Question - TE25 - v2.53 corrupts all my MJPEGs No.18004
Tipam  2002-04-03 22:00:33 ( ID:twkebnyv5vr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Latest TMPGEnc 2.53 corrupts all my MJPEG files - only the top line is displayed, the rest of the image is a grid of dots. Both in preview and conversion.

I've tried all the environment settings I can think of. Different source resolutions etc.. still no differences.

v2.01 used to work fine! I'm using an Athlon 1.2Ghz, Win98, 256Mb, Matrox Marvel G200 capture card. Matrox codec is used.

Can anyone help please??

I figered it out,and yes I"m a dummy......

Emiliano Cabrera  2002-04-04 03:03:06 ( ID:8gxzwngho5f )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The easiest way to do a SVCD (at least I think that) is to use two different software. First; create a "cue" file with VCDeasy 1.0.9 (www.vcdhelp.com) with the SVCD compliant. Second; Start Nero and close wizard and on the file menu access the "burn image.." option, select the cue file (usually called VIDEOCD.CUE) and burn it.

Also, on WWW.VCDHELP.COM, there are a lot of different softwares.

that is not much help to us.

What are you trying to encode? what system do u have? what settings have u used?

If it is a DIVX file, then extract the audio as wav, use virtualdub or nandub to do this.

Request - TE25 - Add "rotate" feature to Advanced features No.17996
Gastric  2002-04-03 18:09:57 ( ID:w3t1wtf94mk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I would find it useful if TMPG Enc had the ability to rotate the encoded video. For example, I held my camera on it's side when recording my video. However, I obviously don't want to have to tilt my head to watch the video, I'd rather rotate the video so it's in the correct orientation.

This feature should include the ability to rotate 90deg/180deg clockwise and counter clockwise.

Thank you.

Question - TE25 - "Can not read video." error No.17988
mmeytin  2002-04-03 18:08:10 ( ID:xr2pi/hsvr. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I downloaded the trial version of TMPGEnc and trying to convert several files from AVI to MPEG-1. I consistently get "Can not read video." error on two of these files (encoded with DIVXMPG4 V3 codec, at 25 frames/sec, 83kbps in PAL (352x288) standard) and the conversion stops. The AVI files play without problem with Media Player. Any ideas why I would be getting the error and how can I prevent it? Thanks in advance!

techno  Home )  2002-04-03 18:19:13 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The frames may be corrupted.

Use virtualdub v1.4.9 to scan for errors in the avi file.

Techno

mmeytin  2002-04-03 18:57:58 ( ID:xr2pi/hsvr. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I tried VirtualDub, and it crashes while checking the file for errors (possibly in the same place as RMPGEnc). Unfortunately, since DIVX4 is not officially supported by VirtualDub, I cannot ask the author for help. Any other ideas, or tools that I could use to find what the problem is? Thanks for a prompt reply!

techno  Home )  2002-04-03 19:54:29 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

nope, if VD crashes then VD is telling the truth, the file you have is corrupted! trust me. I am 90% sure because DIVX 4 is fully supported by VD, otherwise how in the world, was DIVX 4 "successful"? People use VD to convert to DIVX any version 95% of the time!

Techno

mmeytin  2002-04-03 22:42:41 ( ID:xr2pi/hsvr. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I think you're right, some frames are probably corrupted. Do you know if there's a tool that will allow me to get rid of corrupted frames? Thanks!

Ashy  2002-04-04 12:24:34 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try this program it claims to repair bad frames and freezes in AVI's:

Oh and by the way DiVx is supported in Virtualdub. The original version 3.11 wasn't as it was an illegal Mpeg4 hack. But DiVx is now a project on it's own utilising it's own code and is therefore legal.

Question - TE25 - Magic Incantation for DVDit? No.17985
Rick  2002-04-03 17:04:36 ( ID:kbfyzkhjakj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there some magic incantation to get an MPEG2 file created by Tmpgenc to work with DVD2.5.2??? I cannot get it to read any of the imported files - the error which DVDit gives me is "could not find a suitable decoder" .... the mpeg2 file works just fine if I play it with Microsoft Mediaplayer.

I am converting DV/AVI files to MPEG2 using Tmpgenc. I've tried it with and without an Audio track. I'm using all of the default settings in Tmpgenc, with the execption being that I'm changing the bitrate to 5mbs.

Is there some setting which i need to make which will automatically get things working.

Techno  Home )  2002-04-03 17:07:30 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What OS u running?

TMPGENC cannot guarentee that ALL the encoded files will work with 3rd part software.

Download the latest version, for TMPGENC and for DVDIt.

let us know what happens

GLUCIC  2002-05-07 18:16:31 ( ID:ofcbnc0f2s. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have the same problem with my PC. I have Sony, P4, 1.8Ghz, Windows XP, DVDit! 2.5 Ligos, etc.
I have tried all to me known options with TMPGenc, (decr. the stram, changing the GOP header lines, etc) but without any success.
In thepast I had no problem with TMPGenc and DVDit!. I have recently done the Windows XP update regarding the mpeg2 encoder as an official upgrade. I am wondering whetrer that caused problem.

Free talk - TE25 - TMPGEnc version 2.53 encodes to a brighter video No.17977
stefany  2002-04-03 15:38:41 ( ID:bvgmnsq6wsm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Actually I just discovered that any encoding with Version 2.53 produces a slightly brighter video....it's hard to see but if you did a 2nd or 3rd
encode on the previous, you'd see a much brighter video.

Yeh, it does do this.
