Request - TE40 - TP0 format decoding support No.58658
Petr  2009-02-02 17:36:12 ( ID:hpd8ip2fcnc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Dear Pegasys,

you may add support for TP0 files decoding simply by ignoring first 288768 bytes of the file. Than it can be handled as already supported TS file. Please contact me if you want to have sample of the TP0 files, typically produced by Homecast SAT receivers.

What about support for 2-pass XviD encoding in one step ?

Regards
Petr

Request - TE40 - Forced subs in a mixed subtitle stream No.58657
alexcel  2009-02-02 15:54:27 ( ID:iyqm551c632 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi

Sometimes, we find forced subs in an subtitle stream mixed up with normal ones.

(Note: If we extract the subtitles to vobsub files and edit them with subresync, we find that there are both normal and forced ones.)

The forced ones are usually needed translations to our language (it is not english)

We need an option to include only forced subs, not all of them. This could be an on-off option once we have chosen the subtitle stream. Also, showing up if there are forced subs in a stream would help a lot.

Is anyone nows any workarounds for this forced subs issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Question - TE40 - Watermark remove No.58655
Thorsten Otto  2009-02-02 10:45:29 ( ID:retik58duv6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

how do I remove the white Watermark in Tmpg Express 4.0. I mean the white crap in the right side of a reencoded movie.

tkrave  2009-02-02 20:56:33 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you using the trial version? The watermark is part of the trial restrictions. The full version won't add a watermark.

If you're talking about some other watermark that was already in the video, then that can't be removed since it's encoded into the video.

Question - TAW4 - Sir No.61731
tjon53  2009-02-02 03:23:42 ( ID:jmeg1glvn8l )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Can you save the playlist as a document or text file?

tkrave  2009-02-02 20:42:55 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Not that I know of. You can only save it as a Authoring Works 4 project file.

tjon53  2009-02-15 16:25:48 ( ID:jmeg1glvn8l )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I would like to be able to save a text copy of the playlist to be used as a liner directory. I would be very useful to have this feature.

Mila  2009-02-01 18:57:14 ( ID:jzhh4j5a0or )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Question - TAW4 - Colors skin No.61728
EVR  2009-02-01 12:43:56 ( ID:w1slirbpl6h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I do find the color black very dark when working with the program. Is there a possibilty to change these. I do mean not the MENU of a DVD but the program itself.

tkrave  2009-02-02 20:40:53 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There are no options to change the skin of the interface. You may need to adjust the brightness/contrast settings of your monitor if it appears overly dark.

Lars  2009-02-01 09:24:44 ( ID:fez1y9zqbmj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just wanted to inform you that the installer fails when I try to install the trial version of TMPGenc MovieStyle (TMS_Trial_1.0.6.41_setup_en.exe), on a 64 bit english windows 7 (beta ofcourse). I know it is outside the environment the program is supposed to work in, so im not dissapointed or anything like that. Just wanted to tip you, cause if the installer is all that keeps this software from working on this platform, it might be a quick fix.

I tried to run it as an admin, in regular, vista compatible and xp compatible mode. It stops at "configuring installer". Then it quits and windows start creating a bug report for the beta program.

It seems to be a great product, so i am looking forward to testing it in the future:)

A user who was trying to install TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress ran into a problem during install on Windows 7, but he was able to get around it by using the command line. It's possible it's the same type of error.

Question - TE40 - DVD to DivX - Fairuse Wizard (3hrs) vs TMPGenc Xpress 4.0 (9hrs) why? No.58652
Pwnsweet  2009-02-01 01:47:48 ( ID:xslnwwpmrq2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I recommended TMPGenc to good friend of mine a week ago. Typically he uses Fairuse Wizard for his encoding, but after hearing about all the good things I had to say about TMPGenc from me, he gave it a shot. He got back to me the other day and claims that the same DVD to DivX encode at the same settings as those he uses in Fairuse Wizard take 9hrs in TMPGenc as opposed to 3hrs in Fairuse.

Does anyone know why this may be the case?

tkrave  2009-02-02 20:53:01 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hard to say without knowing the settings he's using. Got any details?

QuadMan  2009-02-13 03:57:40 ( ID:iuctjfy5s.6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It could just be that particular encode - more fast action scenes maybe? My old P4 3.2GHz would vary from 4 hours up to 12 hours encoding similar length DVDs. (and using TMPGenc Xpress 3.0) Anyway, my new Q6600 quad core encodes everything I throw at it in 1 hour flat. So I recommend u get a Quad Core :)

Question - TMVS - mkv No.61245
Palinder  2009-01-31 01:38:33 ( ID:d3cuz0fe6un )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there any way to add mkv with H264 support to TMPGenc Moviestyle. If this is possible then this software would be perfect!!

Cheers everyone,

Palinder

Question - TME3 - Fade in at Beginning/Add text No.61169
klrmtn  2009-01-30 14:00:01 ( ID:i3cq7kh0oka )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I see how to add transitions between clips and to the last clip to fade out. My question is how to add it to the top of the first clip to fade in. The fade transition has a fade in/out, so it seems like it should be able to.
Second part, is there a way to add text? Any plans to add this in the future?
Thanks.

tkrave  2009-02-02 21:13:20 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

For now it can only add the transition to the end of a clip. A workaround would be to make a solid black clip that lasts for a few seconds. You can then make it fade out/in to your "real" first clip.
If you're using a camcorder, you could probably just record video in a pitch black room or something.

There's currently no way to add text. Would be a good option for credits and titles and such. Hopefully they'll add it in the future.

Question - TE40 - Cannot enable GPU encoding. No.58646
SplitFire  2009-01-29 18:40:25 ( ID:n8ei.e/68ar )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, I installed the latest trial version of xpress and cannot enable GPU encoding. Everything relating to the GPU, under the preferences menu, is greyed out. I have two 8800 GTS cards with the latest driver installed(Jan 14, 2009) running on Vista Ultimate x64. I have attempted installing version 2.1 and 2.0 of the cuda driver, but nothing has worked. GPU encoding works fine in both badaboom and powerdirector. Any idea why I would not be able to enable it in TMPGEnc?

Thanks.

tkrave  2009-01-29 18:45:49 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

From the product webpage:

"The GeForce8800 GTX/GTS video card using the G80 core is not currently supported."

SplitFire  2009-01-29 21:46:23 ( ID:n8ei.e/68ar )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I should have looked better. I just assumed since it worked with other software it should work with this. Thanks a lot for the reply.

NonW00t  2009-02-05 08:49:25 ( ID:0ed1isrxiqn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Wouldn't worry too much about the cuda support anyway. It actually makes conversions slower on my system (QX9650 quad and 8800 GTS 512 2xSLI), and on many files the conversion stops with error "parameter is incorrect" at the very end even when not using any filters at all!

tkrave  2009-02-05 18:35:11 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well, yes it will be slower than the CPU in most cases. If you're not using filters or MPEG decoding, then you should turn it off.

josgba2002  2009-02-10 02:04:18 ( ID:f3awbok5w6m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have enabled CUDA but when encoding program show 0% CUDA.

Can you help me ?

Question - TE40 - Apple TV No.58644
dlg1391  2009-01-29 16:17:36 ( ID:ba3qvyup2b. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Can some one please tell me the best settings for encoding a m2ts file or vob file for apple tv. I already moviestyle but I purchased Xpress for more editing options. Thanks

tkrave  2009-01-29 18:14:52 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Below are the specs from Apple's website. You should use the MPEG-4 AVC output and you can probably follow Apple's H.264 specs (at least, that's what MovieStyle seems to have done).

Video formats supported:
-H.264 and protected H.264 (from iTunes Store): Up to 5 Mbps, Progressive Main Profile (CAVLC) with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps (maximum resolution: 1280 by 720 pixels at 24 fps, 960 by 540 pixels at 30 fps) in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

-iTunes Store purchased video: 320 by 240 pixels, 640 by 480 pixels, 720 by 480 pixels (anamorphic), or high-definition 720p

-MPEG-4: Up to 3 Mbps, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps (maximum resolution: 720 by 432 pixels at 30 fps) in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

Audio formats supported
-AAC (16 to 320 Kbps); protected AAC (from iTunes Store); MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps); MP3 VBR; Apple Lossless; AIFF; WAV; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound pass-through
