TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6 BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
I need a specific recommendation for a notebook suitable for hardware MP4 encoding supported by TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6
I am doing a lot of encoding of the same material in different bitrates VOD and sometimes it takes 3 hours per video with an average length of 2.5 hours.
Hello,
is it possible to change the default template settings? When i use mp4 output i want to use CBR instead VBR and other changes.
When i save a template, it only save the resolution and framerate. Or is it possible to create an own template without resolution and framerate, and it takes that values from the video? Other programs have options like "same as input file", but i dont find such an option here.
After you select a template, you can change pretty much any setting you want unless it's a format that has specific specifications like DVD or Blu-ray. You can also click on the "MPEG Advanced Settings" button to make even more changes to the settings.
When you save a template, it should save all of your changes. This is how it works for me at least.
There is no "same as input file" option that I am aware of.
when loading h264 video only, video mastering works 5 and 6 both report the frame rate as 47.952 fps when it is actually 23.976, other programs correctly report the correct frame rate ie. EyeFrame converter, I am just trying to mux with audio.
Hi
I am revisiting this topic (https://bbs.pegasys-inc.com/bbs/list/lang/en/board/TVMW5/keyword/sharpness/topic/70095#topic70095) because I am still confronted to the problem.
The issue is that I found out that rescaling to a lower raster size (downsampling) a somewhat soft 1080 video results in a too soft SD video; one might think (hope) that downscaling would recover some of the sharpness -- NOT ! it is propagating it...(there are good explanations about the reasons on the Internet).
I assume Lanczos yields the best sharpness in downsampling, correct ?
So I wonder what would be the best filter order:
First add some sharpening (e.g. contour) then scale down
or
First scale down then add some sharpening.
Of course this is assuming that the downscaling is happening at the "Picture Resize" filter stage, so the Contour filter can be placed before or after it; but is this a correct assumption ? When does rescaling exactly happening with TVMW6 ? At the "Picture resize" filter stage, or later on (i.e. ALWAYS after the Filter stage) ?
Any other suggestion to enhance the apparent sharpness of the SD video when scaling down a somewhat soft HD clip ?
I guess I'm still waiting for an answer here...
"Is it possible for someone from Pegasys to chime in and confirm (or explain) the order of processing for resizing and other filters ?"
Understanding the order of processing for "resize" and "contour" (or any other sharpening filter) is important for the final result
>The filtering process will be applied from the top to the bottom in the order of the filter list.
There are also some restrictions to the order:
>The [Deinterlace], [Picture Resize] and [Speed] filters cannot be removed from the filter list as by default, they are used for video processing by TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6.
>The [Picture Resize] and [Mask] filters cannot be placed above the [Crop] filter.
>The [Crop], [Subtitles], [Paint] and [Perspective Correction] filters cannot be placed above the [Panorama Expand] filter.

is it possible to encode a multiple soundtracks video file?
i got a multiple soundtracks movie file and tried to encode it with both audio files but i couldn't fine away to do it.. can you help me with that please?
I am getting the same error in EVERY program from Pegasys, since I upgraded to Windows 10. What the hell is going on? Can't output anything from Smart Renderer, or Authoring Works, or Mastering Works.
How comes there is no "progressive" mode available in BDMV (H.264/AVC) (PAL) output mode ? Only "interlaced" and "progressive (2:2 pulldown)" ????
The source video is 1080/25p MOV (DnxHD).
Bluray 25fps PAL has no progressive flag: it's not allowed. but if you set the input source to progressive and encode it as interlaced it will only be flagged as interlaced, but encoded with full frames without quality loss
Hello,
I have a 1280X720 video that I want to change as follow : crop 16 pixels at the top and add 16 pixels of black at the bottom. I can't do that only with the 'crop' filter, because the mask option can only be added on the portion that is being cropped.
Basically, for those familiar with Avisynth, I want to do something like this :
Crop (0,16,0,0)
Addborders (0,0,0,16)
So basically, you're just moving the entire video up 16 pixels?
If so, you can do it in Timeline mode.
Once in timeline editing mode, select your clip and then in the properties tab on the right side of the screen, type in -16 in the "top" field. This will move the video up, cutting off 16 pixels from the top and showing a black background at the bottom.
Hi, I can do it " Output Stream Type: MPEG-2 Program (VBR) - Stream Format: MPEG-4 AVC" TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5. Because this is set Adobe Encore don't transcode.
But I can not make this setting TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6.
how can i do this setting TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6?

hi there..
i got this problem lately with my new system.. the program can't utilize all core while encoding 2 passes x264..
the first pass use all the cores but the second pass use only 1 core :(
this problem happen from time to time.. sometime use all core and other only 1.
i tried 6.2.5.31 and now 6.2.5.32 same problem.
spec:
i9 7900x
asus rampage apex x299
32gb memory 4x8
nvidia 1050
960 pro nvme hdd
all driver are up-to date
hi, I think this is related your source file, what is it?
If for ex. it is an AVI file, probably the codec used does not use all cores to decode.
You may need to check in Options > Preferences > the Multithread settings, as well as check if the CPU cores are recognized in CPU/GPU settings.
cheers
