TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress / TSUNAMI MPEG Video Encoder XPress BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
I just purchased TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress and TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6, and I received the serial numbers, but where in the world to I go to download the full versions? I didn't get a download link anywhere, and I can't find one on the site.
Please stop making this program and TMPG DVDauthor for use in 1024x768 resolution and above only, it's very annoying!
ALL software should be able to work at a resolution of 800x600. Please sort it.
Are you serious? 800x600? That is very low-res for today's standards. Get yourself a new monitor. Even a $30 used one from Goodwill, will do 1024x768. I used to run my 15" monitor at 1024x768. My 19" .24dp Sony Trinitron, I run at 1600x1200.
The windows should be resizeable, because right now, on my 1600x1200 desktop, their software has a small window. There is no way to make it full screen! I think the "Pro" version allows you to resize the window.
Of course I'm serious.
For those people that don't have 20-20 eyesight anything higher than 800x600 is just a pain. Everything is just too small to see.
It could be made to work in both modes no problem. Other software developers manage it.
A lot of people I know use 800x600 not 1024x768. The program justs need a little tweaking and it should be satisfactory for both modes or at the very least it should have resizable windows.
I annoys me to have to keep changing my resolution every time just to use the damn thing.
Oh and there is nothing wrong with my monitor I just don't like having to press my nose to the monitor to see anything.
I'm with Ashy. The resolution of the finished product (DVD or VCD) will not suffer just because the program resolution of your PC monitor is 800x600. If they keep increasing the screen parameters we'll eventually be looking at individual pixels (If we can still see at all). I'm only guessing here but I think Kojo is under 40 and Ashy is over 40 (like me). Computers have already diminished my eyesight and I'm not going to strain to see anything anymore.
I just encoded an Mpg-2 from an avi file. It is much larger than I'm used to and at this rate I could only fit about one hour on a DVD. I'm used to fitting about 100 mins, using AC-3 without shrinking. What settings should I use it order to get that kind of file size? I see I can limit it to a bitrate of 8000, and I could change to 8 bits, but how will that effect quality? Thanks!
You'd be better off using VBR not CBR. However you can reduce it to 8000 no problem. In fact that is what it should be. You could go even lower to 6000 with no real noticable loss in quality.
I can't download the installer because the link on the pegasys-inc.com website doesn't work. I am sent to an error page saying:
"The page cannot be displayed.
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The
Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or
you may need to adjust your browser settings."
Anyone know if this is caused by a problem with the website?
Thanks in advance.
Can this folder (TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress) be moved? I already have too many folders in My Documents and would like to put all the video related folders into one folder to clean up My Documents.
You've lost me now...See what in another location?
Just move the whole folder to wherever you want. I don't know how it ended up in My documents anyway unless you told it to install there. It should have installed in the Programs folder.
The new version of DVD Author will be released under the new brand
name "TSUNAMI MPEG" (TSUNAMI MPEG DVD AUTHOR PRO).
We are worried that it may have a negative impact on our customers,
due to the TSUNAMI that occurred last year, in Sumatra and the South East Asia.
However TSUNAMI is also the original name of the free software TMPGEnc (TSUNAMI MPEG ENCODER).
TSUNAMI is a common word in Japan, because we often hear it in our everday life.
But, in overseas, this name may directly be related to the disaster of last year.
So we would like to ask you:
1) what is your opinion about this brand name?
2) and what do you think would be the general opinion, or the opinion of a newbie who
doesn't know the origin name of TMPGEnc?
>Dear users, please tell us your opinion!
>
>The new version of DVD Author will be released under the new brand
>name "TSUNAMI MPEG" (TSUNAMI MPEG DVD AUTHOR PRO).
...
I wish you folks would also ask for our opinions on the products and new features we would like to see added.
I have submitted many excellent feature requests to your tech support, only to be told they are not needed. Clearly, they do not listen to the users feedback, and I have stopped submittng ideas.
If I had a clear channel to the programmers, I would be happy to resubmit the ideas. BTW, I know the guy that started the TMpeg products, as I worked at the company that designed the compiler he used at the time (Delphi).
1) TSUNAMI name is good. Keep using the TSUNAMI name, in remembrance of the victims. That would be a positive, in my opinion.
2) When I was newbie, I didn't know origin name of TMPGEnc. I looked name up. For Retail boxes, maybe it better to call it TSUNAMI MPEG ENCODER. Newbies will know "mpeg encoder". But old people that download it, know it as TMPGEnc. I would keep TMPGEnc name for the download version. It is popular name.
As Joe Hecht said in post above, we would like feedback from the developers. We submit bug reports and feature requests, but no one from Pegasys acknowledges requests.
DVD Author needs more features like...
1) Way to make preview screen larger. It is small on 1600x1200 monitor resolution. Should be able to maximize DVD Author window to full screen.
2) Correct the combined maximum bitrate you can use. Currently a warning pops up, that says "The combined bitrate can be no more than 9848kbps." This is wrong. Maximum combined bitrate for all DVD players is 10080kbps.
3) Way to download third party themes for backgrounds,buttons,etc... There are not enough pre-made themes.
4) Hot-Keys for all preview window buttons, including fast-forward, rewind.
5) Motion Menu selection of beginning/end frames, instead of just seconds.
6) Way to set a clip to "First Play" and hide the track menu completely. Can only hide chapters.
7) Built-in subtitle creation and support.
8) Ability to use "transition clips" to add transitions between main menu and track menus.
9) Add support for multiple audio tracks.
DVD Writing Tool needs a buffer, "underrun burn protection", and the ability to verify the burn.
Due to maintenance and renewal, post to the BBS will be interrupted
for a few minutes.
You will be only able to read it, during that period.
We are sorry for the inconveniance, thank you for your understanding.
I converted a xvid with TMPGENC 3.0 XPRESS TRIAL. when convert was done, i installed dvd author trial and created a dvd with it.
