I converted with TMPG an AVI-file to MPG and the MPG-File has a size of 3,46 GB.
I burnt the MPG-file on a DVD and played it on a DVD-player.
Approximately after 30 min the playing is terminated, but the video has a length of 90 min.
My idea is that the MPG-file is too big and I should not create MPG-files with more than 2 GB.
Is TMPG able to create an output of several 2-GB-files?
Hi Mountain,
A MPG-File of 3,46 GB should not be a problem. What program are you using to format the VOB files (author your DVD) and burn the DVD? (I am assuming that you did convert the MPG file to VOB files with DVD authoring software. If you didn't that is the problem)
Just bought Tmpgenc 3.0 Express Installed it tried to run it, splash screen? comes up then immediately a box appears that says "Unable to use Windows Media
9 Technology. Please verify Windows Media Player9 is properly installed." I click the OK box and Express closes. and won't start. Never had a problem before with media player 9, did go to control panel and selected repair option for media player 9, didn't help. Bought it can't run it so far. OS is XP professional any suggestions?
hey im new to this program and i resize .avi files by hardly anything and it takes about 4 hours or more for a 20 minute video. is there a way i can make it go faster? k thanks :-D
I own TMPGEnc Express and have used it successfully for many years to enocde DV AVI files to MPEG2 program streams. I wanted to re-encode HD MPEG2 transport stream files (CBR 25000) to HD MPEG2 program stream files (same bitrate). The program allowed me to input an HD MPEG2 transport stream file, but the encoding engine only allows CBR bitrates up to 15000. Is this an artificial limit, or is the program simply not written to handle bitrates higher than 15000?
Not sure about the express version as I don't use it, but the limit is set by the Profile & Level you are using. If you want to go higher you have to use a higher profile. I doubt TMPG express has this facility only TMPG plus.
I'm trying to determine if I have the highest possible encoding TMPgenc settings for a DVD sold on the internet. How can I find this information?
Thanks.
1) I've tried to re-encode a number of wmv files into avi's. The output auido I set as a CBR 128kb/s mp3 using Lame encoder.
For some reason the result was not mp3 but avi audio (according to G-Spot). Therefore, a stand alone divx player didn't give me any audio. It worked fine with another software but not TMPGEnc.
2) While trying to convert some mpeg files, it gets stuck on one frame but the audio goes on as normal. I noticed that it usually happens when the scene changes. In that case I have to use TMPGEnc free version 2.56 or 2.59, nothing else works, re-encode the same file into a new mpeg, and right after that XPress processes a file. Once again, another software handles those problem mpegs from the first try.
3) Xpress does not recognize some videos with ac3 sounds. Version 2.56 has no this problem.
Hello. I'm very happy with this encoder but i could be more happy if it would have an integrated blur effect (normal, circular or Gaussian).Little blurring is very usefull in VHS encoding for better quality, not the same as noise reduction and third part utility, like avisynth, are not so good if you use mpeg2 files as source materials. Is it possible to have this effect in some next release of TMPG Express?
I have the same problem but a little bit different. Trying the trial version of tmpgenc xpress is impossible to load any xvid file.
The codec by koepy is regularry installed on the system.
Now i try to unistall the software and xvid codec in safe mode and reinstall again in safe mode.
This promev never i had use other software as mainconcept or CCE
No support from pegasys for solving this problem.
I had a problem with tmpgenc 3.0 xpress..... even though i had the following codecs installed: ffdshow, xvid, divx - I could not open ANY xvid AVI into the program. It was extremely frustrating as I had the same setup on my old PC and everything worked.
After some tinkering about I realised it may be FFDShow causing the problem. What I actually did to fix it was to uninstall all of the codecs mentioned above, reboot, and then re-install ONLY the xvid codec - this appears to work fine in tmpgenc xpress now.
I have the tsunami mpeg video encoder express and have managed to convert my files to mpeg to make them smaller but when I play them back there seems to be about a 2 second delay on the sound?? How can I rectify this?
