Has anyone got TMPGEnc 3 working on Windows7 64bit? I just bought a new PC, and installed the software, but it doesn't recognise the drive? I've tried swapping in my old DVD writer, but it still isn't recognised.
Is there a patch or something that will make it work with Win7?
I've been using TMPGEnc XPress 4 for a while and the other day I noticed it was not working corretly. It loads up, verifies user and licenses, and then says initializing and hangs there forever. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled and samething. I tried using a eariler version and it runs, but I get runtime errors and other odd errors. My Vista system is update with all software updates and virus free. I'm at a lost to what could be causing it. Is there not a log that Xpress generates that might give me some clue?
You may have been duped. I'm betting it wasn't sold directly through Amazon, but through a seller?
You can try contacting support, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to get a working serial number since this product has been discontinued for a while now.
Uninstall the software on the original comp. Make sure you write down your license serial number before doing so if you don't have it already.
Then just install the software on your new computer.
I recently rebuilt my computer due to my hard drive failing. After installing TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress, I have been attempting to encode an AVI file from my digital camera. After adding the file to the project, TMPGEnc will hang (not responding). This is normally when I see the dialog regarding the field order. The CPU usage is 0, so I know the program is not in some sort of infiinite loop. It appears to be waiting for something. TMPGEnc was working fine on this same machine just prior to the reinstallation of new OS hard drive. My best guess currently is that TMPGEnc has some dependency on something else that I just haven't installed yet. I am looking for any suggestions on how resolve this.
I am using the very latest version (3.3.8.17). I also have the AC3 encoding installed. My machine is AMD 4600x2 with Vista premium. All other software appears to be working fine on my system.
When you make an update of PC all will be deleted included thos codecs which were compatible with xpress3, so when the program starts it looks for usable codecs in your PC but when there are not finded it hangs up or something weird happens.
I recommend you to install codecs which were present before, also I think that old TMPGEnc products do not work well at Vista.
Hello,
I would like to transcode MPEG-1 from MPEG-2 and simultaneously insert a visible image watermark on the MPEG-1. Does any of your software support such a feature?
Thank you
I'm using TX4, but the TX4 forum seems to be gone.
I have an mp4 video, H.264 (3GPP).
When I open it with TX4, it's reading the video size wrong, and when I try to encode, it takes forever, just to encode a few frames. If I left it running, my great grandkids, would probably still be waiting for it to complete.
I tried disabling the Quicktime reader, but then nothing happens.
Any ideas... or is this just a bug?
I sometimes have the same problem with mkv files.
I'm using Tmpgenc Express 4.0.. (I cant post in the relavent forum because for some reason its not opening)
I want to configure an External MP3 Encoder (Lame ACE)for Tmpgenc Express 4.0. How do u do this. I hav looked in the 'Configuration' option but could not find a way to configure it..
Theres no option to let you encode using external MP3 Encoder...The only app of TMPG that allows you to do this is TMPGEnc 2.5 Plus. try downloading their freeware to try it out.

That's not strictly true. I convert **everything** to Lame MP3 in XPress (both 3.0 and now 4.0).
Assuming one has the LAME ACM coded installed on one's system (found at http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-dshow-acm.php), then in XPress, it will show up as just "MPEG Layer-3" (as opposed to "Lame MP3" in all other software, e.g., VirtualDub).
The problem (well, I prefer this anyway, so it's not really problem for me) is that the option to choose the Audio encoder only becomes accessible if you encode to a generic AVI (Template: AVI file output), and then from there, you have to be sure to select and setup your video encoder (DivX 6.7 for me).
I think you got the wrong software, TXP3 templates are for video output, so what buttons are you talking about? If your referring to TDA3 menu buttons, then no, you can't move the templates from TMPG. You can only move the buttons if you select custom templates.
Use the Source Wizard and make sure you check the "Convert to MPEG-2" checkbox, let it finish converting then go to "C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\My Documents\TMPGEnc\TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress\DVRMS Convert\" or where ever you told it to save the MPEG2 file to.
The converted MPEG2 file should be in there. Next time post in the correct forum, this is for TXP3.
