I've been encoding afew videos using TMPGEnc. I notice that
the program does not do the actual encoding up to 50%...but it says "analyzing..." instead. My questions are what exact does it analyze? Why does it take that long to do it (the same amount of time to that of the actual encoding)? Is there a way to disable this to cut short the time?
You are Useing the "2-Pass" encodeing method, this Method takes 2 times as Long Cuz it analizes the Complexity of the file for the First Pass, then does the encodeing on the second Pass baced on the Information taken on the first pass..This method Is supposed to give the best results But that is Not nescessarily true..You should Use the "CQ"(Contsant Quality) Method instead cuz it will take half the Time to encode and you will get the same Quality ...The 2-Pass method is mostly for Files that are of maybe lower Quality that need to be analized to get the best results But if your File is of Good Quality then the CQ method with work Just as well with Half the time...
What bitrate are you using when encoding? I fyou are using a higher bitrate than standard then this is probably your problem.
This is due to the fact that your player is having trouble spinning the disk fast enough to read the data correctly.
Lasers move from inside to out, as the laser moves towards the end of the disk the disk is moving slower under it and this probably causing a problem because your player can't spin the disk any faster to supply a flow of uninterrupted data.
Thank you for your response to my problem. I appreciate your time spent trying to help me. The problem occures before I put the video onto a CD and play it. In fact, I see the problem while playing the .mpg file with Windows Media Player. I see this problem about 1 out of 6 rips that I make.
Please let me know if you or anyone else has a solution.

ok, i have win 2000 with 2 amd 1800+ mp. i have clicked on the box for the 2 processors support. what else do i need to do to get this running faster. it takes the length of the movie plus 5 to 10mins to do a movie. any twikes that i can do to 2000 or the program or both to get it to go faster or is that all i can do.
any help would be great!
That seems to be about right, haveing 2 proscessors doesn"t nescessarily mean that you will get twice the speed while encodeing..The time it takes to encode depends on the resolution of the file you are encodeing to and the filters you use and what setting you use in the "Motion Presition search" , setting it to "Motion Estimate Search" will greatly speed up the encodeing But the Quality in High motion scenes will be less..You are actually Lucky Cuz some poeple can take over 24 hours to encode a Movie on some slower systems , on my 1.7GHZ system I encode VCD"s at about real time and svcd"s at half real time, Tmpgenc puts Quality ahead of Speed, there are Much faster encoders Like CCE But it is also Much more expensive....
The reason for the question is that I was told that it would encode faster if you had 2 processors. That is why I spent the money to get the system. My husband has 1 1800+ and raid and the 2 pcs run pretty much the same of encoding.
Hi @ all,
I hope there's anybody who can help me.
Everytime I want to edit a file using "merge & cut" I can't see any picture, the windows is empty, not black. When running the file in this mode Audio is to hear.
When using the main option of tmpgenc "Encoding" I can see the video !
After spending the weekend reading all the guides. I finally have my mpeg1 the at an acceptable quality.
Now when I go to encode the mpeg with above settings, they all come out at 10Mb's - 10,320kb's.
You stated in a prior post:
"The 2.59 version have a Bug in it that won"t let the Bitrate go below the VCD Standard, it adds Padding to make the File a Standard VCD, you Can remove the Padding By Running the File through the Mpeg tools in an Earlier version of Tmpgenc or Use and earlier version to encode.Going lower than standard greatly reduces the Quality, actually anything below about 1600kbs
is is unwatchable to me, But to each his own"
Where do I aquire an older version? Would you have any available?
Also, do you stick to the outline of 1600kbs when working with the web, if you work on the web that is? Not concerned about user download time?
I've followed instructions above and my web 1 minute clip is at a respectable 5.74MB 5,887kbs.
I opened the MPEG TOOLS and used 'simple multiplex', and was ok. (No buffering error)
I just wanted to confirm if this 'simple multiplex' in the correct tool to use, assuming 'multiplex' is for batch purposes.Tried to answer this myself but the servers are down for the http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm....
When I placed a link in a webpage then clicked it, the 'quicktime' 'Q' displays an it loads. But It plays distorted. (Width is at 288, height is 240)
I assume this is because I used the clipping filter.
I re did the clip with a rez of 352x240 and it played at 320x240 in 'quicktime'. So I will keep this 352x240 even though the 'Source Aspect Ration 1:1 [VGA] is suppose to have 320x240 rez for proper full screen viewing.
The clip is not for full screen anyway....
You should not have a Problem while multiplexing unless there is a Differance in the length of the video and audio files which wouldn"t be the multiplexors fault But the source files ...there is a Program called" Mpeg2VCR" that has a Muxer that will allow you to off set the audio and video to attempt to sync them...
Can someone tell me how I split one full sized .mpg file into two or three smaller .mpg files? I'm making VCDs and some of the files I'm downloading are too big to fit on a 80 min./700 MB disc.
i get exactly the same message, it seems to be randpom, if i do a small music vid it might happne, if i enmcode a whole film it might not happen until 70(ish) percent, its not like a memory thing, im lost!
Well if your Mpeg file is a VBR Mpeg file it will go out of sync Cuz the editor doesn"t support accurate editing of VBR Mpeg files....Try a Different Mpeg editor, I just found a Freeware one that seemd to work OK from what I have seen, and it comes with the Old M2v.vfp Mpeg2 codec that the older versions of Tmpgenc used, you can download it here : http://avlab.myetang.com/soft/m2v_vfp-0617.zip ...
No. Not the audio in a .vob I was just talking about avi export of the video.
I am sorry.
I must not be asking clearly or very clear in the presentation of my question.
My primary problem is that I can "load" a file in one version and not in another.
In 2.59 I get a illegal file format error and in 2.54 it loads the file.
I get the same error (illegal file format) if I load a interleaved .mpeg file (with mpeg2 video and mpeg layer 2 audio.. Like the earlier versions would create).
`scuse me.
After my thread before this was six pages back, seemingly lost in the shuffle, and unanswered the only way seemed to post again.
If the default of this board could be to move replies to the top, like most, I would not have to re-post again. On my first post I did as you directed and all of my replies were ignored.
Obviously you looked at my other thread and the only answer you give me is a snide comment. Åook, if you want answers do us and yourself a favour (favor), stick to the same thread and don't create new ones on the same subject. It's highly annoying.EBR>
I just wanted a simple answer to a simple question.
I just give up.
Trying to get help from you is like getting no help at all.
I just hope the way you treated me is the way you want to be treated.
Firstly your previous thread is on the next page:
Question - illegal format error in 2.59: Again I ask my Question ... No.32954
Secondly nit picking about spelling is shallow, also you obviously are unaware that the spelling for 'favor' is indeed 'favour' here in the UK.
My point I'm trying to make to you is that it confuses people who wish help when multiple threads are posted and also breaks the rules of this BBS. Use some etiquette in this BBS and you will have your post respected.
Multiple post and people like myself and the other helpfuls here will just get fed up trying to keep track of the threads and will eventually ignore your posts.
I and so do the other regulars here backtrack through the pages to check up on and answer previous posts, so you needn't worry your post will still be answered even when it is many pages back.
As for helping, I did begin trying to help, but got fed up with your multiple and confusing posting as I started losing track of what advice you had been given before and what other details you had posted.
I did have answers for you, but this thread has become tiresome.
I'm sure a few of the other regulars will agree on most of my points above.
