TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
I saw a dvd made using this software and had to check it out. I read it converts avi to mpeg1 files in the about section but I can't figure out if I'd be able to take a dvd-rip file that's on my computer and use this to compress it to a smaller file that's not a dvd file....all of those ifo's, vob's, and bup's that I know nothing about and can't figure out how to back them up. My dvd burner isn't recognizing any disks so I have to reformat my computer but I have to backup the files I want online since I can't burn them and the only way I know how to backup the dvd files is by compressing them to 1 file and hope it'll be small enough to be able to upload it online for free. The movie I saw that was made using tmpgenc had part 1,2,and3 and all fit onto 1 dvd so I know that I will definately be buying this but I am wondering will I need something else to make avi or divx files out of the dvd files? Sorry I don't really know about all of this stuff that's why I'm asking for help or suggestions. Thank you so much.
You should be able to use the DivX Ultra output setting to turn your DVD file into a divx file. It'll be much smaller and you'll be able to play it on your computer or even turn it back into a DVD later, but the quality might drop a bit since converting the video so many times will slightly degrade the quality bit by bit.
I think that's the only non-DVD output option there is.
Download the trial first and see if it'll do what you want it to do. The trial should let you output your DVD files as DivX so you can see if it's a good solution for you. http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/taw4.html
Hi I just got TD3D recently before i was still using 1.5 and I had created and saved a bunch of template files (.tme) but when I have 3 look for templates in that file it says non were found. Can you not import templates from previous versions?
I'm from Russia, so sorry for my english.
I recently reinstalled windows xp. Install the TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring again and tried to open a project that I saved before reinstalling. The program said that it was not her project! How to convince her that it was not right?? I definitely need to open it - it's too difficult to build it again!
when I open *.tda3 file, it displays an error "This file is not a project file generated by TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring"
But this is a save of this program!!!! I just reinstall it!
I was working on a big project (32 chapters, 140 min total runtime). It was epic and quality. It was practically finished, being the music for the menu the only thing remaining to finally do an output. Saved, closed the software.
The next morning, tried to open it, but I only got the message that reads "this is not a TMPGEnc...blah blah... project". Tried several times, but it just won't load.
All the settings in the project were ok, even I watched the whole project in the simulation screen and all the videos runned without a single problem...
Don't know what happens... Could it be because the size of the tda3 file (11MB)?
Please, help! Don't want to start again with this, cause it will take years to reach the same point!!!
I see that no one ever got back to you on this. That is a bummer.
Having experienced this myself, here is what I discovered. I opened a copy of the TDA3 file in Notepad to see if I could spot anything useful to use to rebuild the file I had worked upon for a week. I saw that that 75% of the file was blank. I compared this to another TDA3 file in Notepad and saw that it was supposed to have data in the whole file. My conclusion is that DVD Author experienced an error and did not save the file completely. I would have resaved it the night before if it given me any indicator that it had experienced an error.
In short, there is no way to fix the file that has the error. If anyone has a clue as to how to rescue that data still present, this would be helpful, but that is a programmers question to answer, not a clueless software user.
What do we learn from this? Always save a backup copy of anything.
I have various clips.
I want the viewer to be able to start/view
- some of those clips directly after selecting (one of) them in the top menu
and
- the other clips after navigating to a subpage
starting clips from a subpage is easy.
how can I have clips start directly from the top menu ?
I don't think that's possible. You can have videos play directly from the top menu only if you choose the "Top menu only" option when you create your menu.
I have the full verison of TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring.. What i am trying to do is I taped something off of TV but im trying to edit out all of the commericals. When im editing it u can hear the audio when i hit play and such but after i am done editing and try to out put i get the message saying
"The "Track 1" Track does not include an audio conform to the DVD-video standard.
When authoring a NTSC DVD-video, each Track should at least contain one Dolby Digital or Linear PCM audio Stream. In the track settings change MPEG-1 Audio Layer II into Dolby Digital or Linear PCM to avoid this warning"
My Question is it is set on Dolby Digital and I am doing everything i do every time anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks any help is greatly appreciated...
When I add (2) subtitles to a clip,
TMPGEnc automatically creates a subtitles/audio-page ('setup') with subtitle-selection menu-items and with an audio menu-item.
Can anyone please explain to me how I can delete the audio menu-item from that subtitles/audio-page?
( I don't want to bother the user with audio options, because there are no audio options )
My video files are of standard quality, mostly MOV files. I'm pretty sure I have the default video quality on my TMPG set to INSANE quality, but when I watch the resulting DVD the quality really sucks. Is there anything I can do to remedy this??
TMPGEnc DVD Author 3.
Created a DVD with eight movies/titles. When playing on a DVD player, one title doesn't start from the beginning, although the source is complete.
Please, help.

I'm getting a buzzing on my DVD's after I convert a DivX file to DVD. It's not the burner either because I've ran the converted file before I burn it and there is no audio but just buzzing. So far I only see this on .avi files.
I did just update my codecs and I don't know why that would screw things up, I didn't change anything, but obviously it did somehow. I just need to know how to fix it now. I think it has something to do with DirectShow or maybe AC3...now sure but it's certainly messed up!
