Is it possible to use a french accent on a letter in the menu? If so, how?

Only way I've done it is by copy and pasting it from another program.

OK, after more research, I have found the answer.
Go to Micorosoft word help. The way to do it is exactly the way MS word does it.
Go to the 'insert' menu in MS word. Go to 'symbols'
Find the character with the accent you wish to insert.
Note the code
Go back to Dvd Authoring Works and enter 'ctrl' + code.
This works for any symbol.

Yes, as long as you're making a custom menu and not a menu based on a template.

Just double-click the background in the menu editor. A new window will appear and you can set a video as the background and then navigate to the frame you want as the background. Or you can just an image of your captured frame as the background.

Yes, you can use .psd files for custom menu frames and buttons.

You can then register them and they will appear in the layout selection page when you create a custom menu in the Menu Wizard.

Check out the help file within TAW4 for a detailed explanation of how to set up your .psd layers for each type of menu item.

From within the help file, look at section User Guide-->Start-->Advanced tools-->Menu item tool.

I am using the 4.0.7.32 version of TmpgEnc Authoring Works, but I have problems with the video in realtime.
It shows only the small film (cut/edit window), but doesn´t show the full video in the large video window - it gives me a black screen. Im a using a ATI Radeon 5870 video card. If I use a Geforce card, it works. I saw an older posting takling about similar issue - this did not help.
What can i do?

well, i got the latest driver. what about ovleray - there is no such command. i read about, but i do not have it.

The Problem is that many new Ati Catalyst Driver you should use the latest Works4 Version , then your Problems should be fixed. It's the Combination of Ati Drivers with some older Versions of Works4.That's what i've found out , having the same trouble you had , with my Ati 4890

I'm pretty sure you have the option, since you're using a video card.

Go to the cut-edit screen and right-click on the preview image. Check or uncheck the "Display in a video overlay" option.

And you may also want to update to the latest version of TAW4.

ok, it's finished - i updated TAW4 and now it is working.

Hi, I've found a workaround:


Just stop that windows manager of Vista or 7 by "run" -> "net stop uxsms".
No transparent Superbar and Windows anymore but a working TAW.

after your work restart the servive with "net start uxsms"

How do you ADD audio setup within the TOP MENU not in the track menu

I don't think it's possible. Audio and subtitle buttons only appear in track menus or the title page of a track menu.

This is probably because each track can have different audio/subtitle options.

I have been trying that one for ages Blackbeard, so far, its a no go unfortunately. Would like to see it as an option in future releases though.

I have been using TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5 for a number of years and have decided it's time I upgraded. I am considering upgrading to TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 but I have quite a few projects in version 1.5 that I would still like to use as I have created menus, custom buttons etc.

The question is will I be able to import these projects into version 4 or will I have to start again from scratch.

You will have to start from scratch. It can read .tda3 and .tda2 project files, but not .tda files.

Does anyone know what causes 'Stream Reading Error (Error Code 0X80068001)'. It seems to happen right at the end of a chapter (not part way through). The files I am using are WMV. I have tried using XPRess4 to convert the WMV to a DVD file first and then use that in the BD project and the error still comes up. The only way round it was to import the BD file from the aborted output, insert chapters etc etc and start again and it works.

Having real problems whilst burning to DVD in TMPGenc 4. It's been spitting out more coasters than I no what to do with.... please help!!

- I'm using Infiniti 360 +rw 8x Dual Layer Discs
- the dvd files are only 7.5 gig so plenty of space on these discs
- I have burned them at a variety of speeds
- It comes up with an error at the same point each time. 15 mins in to the burn about 50% of the way through.

Could this be due to some error when burning the second layer? How do I resolve it? I've got some Verbatim Discs coming tomorrow in the hope that that may sort the problem.

Any suggestions are gratefully received... thanks

The brand discs you are using is the problem. Make sure the verbatim discs you are receiving are -DL, not +DL. That should solve your problem,

Actually, the best Verbatim's are the +DL, not -DL. Also, if the burning module still doesn't work, you can use IMGBurn which is a freeware to burn your dvds.

Burn the DL at the lowest speed. I use 1x and NEVER made a coaster yet.

Hello. I too had failures when trying to burn to Verbatim DVD+R DL. But the solution turned out to be checking the burner's Write Speed spec, which for my burner is 4x and only 4x, not the 2.4x that I was trying to burn at. Sometimes a slower burn is not better.

Can I ask where you got your Write Speed details from? I'm looking to find out mine

I've had the program for about 4 weeks now. All of sudden, while trying to output to blu ray, the authoring gets to around 4% (writing 1st track) and i get the error message that the program has stopped working and windows must shut down. I uninstalled the program, re-installed, started a different project with different files, and got the same message after it was 4% into the authoring process again.

Please help me. I really like the software and i am very frustrated right now. I used a backup software to output to blu ray and had no problem during the authoring process. The files i am using are 720p with framrate of 59.97.

Not sure why this is happening after 4 weeks into the software.
