Question - TAW4 - Menu creation No.69643
Totores  2015-04-08 08:52:55 ( ID:/6kqz2wktrj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi all, just started using this software and I need a bit of help setting up a menu, somehow I seem to have some difficulty. What I need I think it's simple but I can't work it out.

1. I need to have a 20 second intro played when the DVD is inserted
2. At the end of the clip a main screen to appear (with Title, Play/Chapters buttons selection)

from there on I got it all working the two steps above got me so far

Thanks

Question - TVMW5 BBS - TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6 No.69634

When can we expect the release of TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6, offically here?

George  2015-04-07 19:58:24 ( ID:qoo3ig.rvaj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have never seen an official reply here, unfortunately - only remember a single new product announcement. A pity because TMPGEnc are killer apps and deserve their proper user forums (every single piece of software seems to have theirs). These current boards are extremely limited and very unintuitive to use - the exact opposite of the TMPGEnc software. Come on Pegasys, make it happen. Wouldn't hurt if you hire an admin to give official replies, too.

PROBLEM SOLVED: The method to produce .mkv files that will play on Samsung tablets is to NOT use the format labeled mkv period!!! When you're ready to format and are on the Output selection page choose "mpeg file output" then adjust stream type to mkv. It isn't readily apparent to get to the mkv solution but its there. The disappointing thing is that I emailed Pegasys twice and never received an intelligent answer. So much for 'Customer Care"....

TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6 in English will be released later this year, got a mail about it today.
Registered owners of version 5 will get a huge discount on version 6 when upgrading.

$18 for those who bought v5 between December 2014 and May 2015. Those of us who have been using v5 since it came out pay $74! Don't think I'll be upgrading any more.

Is nothing special in this software, i have version 4 & 5 to me is just encoder nothing else.. No more supporting this company.. i bought vegas pro way better then this..
Too me no more good luck..

George  2015-05-02 02:36:38 ( ID:o5vrz/ceazn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's much more than an (excellent) encoder and you cannot compare it to Vegas which is way more expensive.

It's not based on loyalty.
The $18 upgrade is meant to take the sting out of purchasing a product that is becoming discontinued.
It also makes it easier for those who needed to buy a TMPGEnc encoder immediately even if they knew version 6 was coming soon.

If you've been using TVMW5 since it came out, then you got your money's worth IMO.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - How to remove tv logo No.69627
voytek  2015-03-29 03:01:22 ( ID:ouipymeuvuh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, do you know how to remove/ delete tv chanel logo with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 or other from TMPGEnc

Persen  2015-04-30 22:16:35 ( ID:6tr/46zxmom )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

In reality, you can't remove or delete a tv channel logo, with out messing with the pixel size, who will be fully visible in the video after the attempt.
I have tried to look at several videos, where people has made such removal/delete attempts and the job they all did looked terrible, because they all ended up with a annoying wide blurry line all the way across the entire screen.

So don't even go there, its looks terrible when ever some one tries to do it.
There its just better to keep the logo intact, just like every scene rippers do, to keep the entire image intact.

Question - TPXP - Menu limit? No.69589
BobAchgill  Home )  2015-03-03 07:21:47 ( ID:jwwo6igx.p6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there a limit to the number of items in a main menu and submenu as there are with authoring DVDs?

Ades  2016-08-30 14:44:02 ( ID:nrp09m2aqdn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi there,
I guess is the same as in the authoring DVD.
I think if they are linked items it could be limited.

cheers

Could you post the PGMX player for Android on the Amazon Android app store? Users in China can not access the Google app store.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Zooming within a video No.69580
jam5757  2015-02-27 08:34:41 ( ID:9hwsirasvt6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is it possible to zoom into a specific area within the frame? The HELP section within the program is unclear to me.

tkrave  2015-02-28 09:37:08 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, this can be done with animation key points in Timeline mode.
Simply make at least two key points in an animation timeline, one for your zoom start point and one for the end point.
Navigate to the end point, then in the preview window, drag the anchor points to resize the video and position as you see fit.

There's a video on YouTube that demonstrate a lot of the timeline stuff:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzB3LMexC3s

Check out around 8:28 mark for animation.

Question - TAW5 BBS - BluRay discs slower to burn on faster hardware No.69576
ki7xh  2015-02-23 09:14:01 ( ID:wwmt.bac4xl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I built a new system in 2014 and have one minor issue with TAW5 I can't seem to sort out. I'm hoping somebody here might have an answer.

Burning a BR data disc takes about twice as long as it did on my previous system that was running TAW4. I ran a test to compare the systems, using the TAW4/5 disc writing tool, moving 22.685GB of identical data to Verbatim 6X BD-Rs. The results...

OLD MACHINE, TAW4 (4.0.7.32), 15:23 to burn. (Asus P5B deluxe M/B, Intel Dual Core 6400 at 2.13 GHz, 2GB RAM, Win7 Pro SP1 32-bit, LG 8X BR writer)

NEW MACHINE, TAW5 (5.2.2.61), 29:58 to burn. (Asus P9X79Pro M/B, Intel Core i7 3920K @ 3.2GHz, 32GB RAM, Win7 Pro SP1 64-bit, LG 14X BR writer)

I've tried changing the SATA channel for the BR writer, the SATA cable, updated to the newest version of TAW5, and even swapped the writer (from a 14X Pioneer to the current LG 14X optical drive). No matter my change, 29:58 to burn it.

Burned discs seem to work fine, so it's not a huge issue. I just can't help but think that I have something set wrong somewhere.

Thanks for your consideration!

Just a suspecion, but perhaps you have a lot of stuff running in the background that you are not aware of, who is stealing a lot of your memory away.
Try do download Process Explorer and investigate your entire system to see what is running with out your knowledge:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

Regular cleaning of the entire system also helps to speed up the computer, this you can do with CCleaner https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

don  2015-02-28 10:13:58 ( ID:xegjvlrpesk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

That sounds almost as if one burner is running at 8x the other at 4x speed. Is something throttling your burner speeds?

Bug report - TAW4 - Trojan Horse in Auth Works 4.1.4.51 No.69571
John  2015-02-20 10:03:45 ( ID:qp48mkm362o )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After I installed the latest TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4.0 build 4.1.4.51 my antivirus SW WebRoot identified two Trojan Horses among the AW files! It reports that two files are infected with W32.Trojan.Gen virus. Those files are: effcaaudiofilter.vme and moviempeg.vme.

When I authorized WebRoot to clean these files, AW 4.0 stopped working with a message "required files are missing to boot"...

Anyone else with the same problem? Fixes?

I wrote a ticket to TMPGEnc 2015/01/09 (Fri) 07:29:14 (JST) but never received any input from them.

Thanks.

Question - TAW5 BBS - How can I create my own templates? No.69550
Jeremy Gadd  2015-02-12 20:13:26 ( ID:znbpcr/azoa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I would like to be able to create my own templates. can someone guide me on how I can do this. I have Photoshop, Illustrator etc. and would like to be able to create my own customised backgrounds and buttons. Thank you.

tkrave  2015-02-13 08:29:55 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Backgrounds are just images, so just make an image at the size of your menu (1920x1080 for example). You can change the background in the menu editor or you can add it as an item that appears in the menu parts list when you create a custom menu by using the Menu Item Creator.

Custom buttons can be created by using the Menu Item Creator in the "Advanced Tools" section. You can create your buttons in Photoshop and put each button on it's own layer (or just make an image for each button). Each layer must be named a certain way and then you can just import the psd file into the Menu Item Creator and it will automatically apply each layer to the appropriate button function. See the help file for detailed instructions on how to name each layer.

Finally, you can also create custom thumbnail frames with using the Menu Item Creator. Again, the help file is probably the best way to learn how to do this.

Once you create these elements, they will show up as parts in the custom menu wizard. Then, you can create your menu and then save it as a template, which will then show up as a selectable menu template in the menu wizard.

Yes, in verison 6 (in Japan many months on market, ENG/international version maybe in december 2015 - :-() is fully supported:
http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/ja/product/tvmw6.html

The high-speed hardware encoder "NVENC"
NVIDIA's Kepler core corresponding to the H.264 / AVC output in the new generation high speed hardware encoder "NVENC" to be mounted on a graphics card (GeForce 600 series) or later. Compared to encode in the conventional CUDA *, speed, so we image quality is significantly improved, you spread the width of the applications further.

p.s. ...in Japan no people known ENG language to transalate resources:-((

Question - TVMW5 BBS - How does TVMW5 handle 10bit to 8bit conversion No.69535
benoitvm  2015-02-10 23:41:25 ( ID:iycpwrfd3yk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi

I wonder how 10-bit sources are subsampled to 8-bit during conversion ?
Just plain stripping of the LSB ?
What implications on how to best prepare the 10-bit source (dithering ?)

Maybe inrelated to the above Q, but I was making some tests with a jpeg2000 encoded video (4.2.2, 10bit, Avid implementation) in a QuickTime MOV container, and noticed that the luma range was incorrectly detected by TVMW (needs significant contrast & brightness boost)

Hi,

when i try to load an .avi i made with the Lagarith Lossless Codec, i get this Error: Invalid Sampleformat (Error 0x80048002).
Tried to search on the Web for it, but nothing useful came up. Any suggestions what i can do?

Asymetrikon  2015-02-09 21:40:49 ( ID:hgklx.lomrc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok just resolbed the Issue. When using the Lagarith Lossless Codec, dont use the "Prevent Upsampling when Decoding" Option and youre fine.
