Bug report - TME2 - Help file is broken No.56076
Steve  2006-06-08 22:30:54 ( ID:knxltm5calw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The demo version of TME2 has a broken help file. When invoking help, Acrobat reader is invoked (!) and only a few help items are shown - the remaining ones stay blank. Only the "News Center" and the license validation sections work - this was tested on two very different machines. Please fix - TDA2 also had a broken help file in its first release.

I have the full version, and get an "Internet Explorer Script Error" when opening the help (.chm) file. "Object doesn't support this property or method". I don't have Adobe Acrobat installed. I use a cut down version of it called "Foxit reader". Not sure if this is the problem, but I have no plans to install the bloated adobe reader.

.chm is windows help file, and it won't open. I get that error and a blank window.

You can fix that problem by updating your Adobe Acrobat to the latest version.

That will fix it...and you do have to use Acrobat to view the Help file.

Question - TE30 - can't open quicktime files No.53532
sergiobn  2006-06-08 20:36:19 ( ID:nchdcj5bce6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I was using TMPGenc 3.0 and I have opened QuickTime movies several times. I had to reformat my HD and re-installed the program, but now it doesn't recognize QuickTime movies anymore.
I have the QTReader.vcf file inside the program folder.
What's the workaround here?

John  2006-06-09 13:09:37 ( ID:v6bakgir8zg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm not positive about this but did you re-install QuickTime? This may be the problem. If you install the full version of Quicktime you can convert the video to an AVI file and then encode it to MPG using TMPGEnc.

Question - TE25 - Problem getting MVBR encoding to work as intended No.43614
Jerico  2006-06-06 18:06:57 ( ID:wvawrvupmu. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, I'm having some trouble getting TmpgEnc to encode MPEG-1 files properly with the MVBR setting. I have read several detailed descriptions about the program settings which tell me that with MVBR selected, you can go to the "GOP Structure" tab and use the "Force Picture Type Setting" to set different bitrates for various scenes in the movie. In my particular video that I want to encode, there are several high-speed shots, a few dark shot with a lot of flashing lights, a few moving camera shots, and the rest of the shots are just straight forward normal ones. Obviously, I'd like to encode the flashy, fast moving ones at a higher bitrate, and have the standard shots encode at a lower bitrate. Now, I've marked all the frames at the beginning of the segments that I want encoded at different bitrates. And I have assigned a specific bitrate to each segment. I clicked OK to close that window and made sure that the "Detect Scene Change" box is unchecked.

I then opened the MVBR settings under the Video/Rate Control Mode section. I have filled in the minimum and maximum bitrate settings to cover both the highest and lowest settings according to what I used on the "Force Picture Type Settings" frames.

However, no matter what bitrate settings I assign, there is always a lot of block noise and ugly blurring in the MPEG-1 encoded video. For example, if I set one segment of video to encode at 1150kbps and the next segment to encode at 2500kbps, then the 2500kbps shot looks chunky and ugly upon playback. In fact, it looks no different than the 1150kbps segment. Yet, if I encode the entire video at a CBR of 2500kbps, then it runs smoothly with no problems.

It seems as if TmpgEnc is not changing the bitrate when I have asked it to. Either that, or some other setting is over-riding it from working properly. Anybody got any clues about what could be wrong here and have any advice on how to get it working? Thanks!

Question - TE30 - Something is wrong with TMPGEnc XPress? No.53531
jamewoong  2006-06-01 04:17:31 ( ID:ciic957br5a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

I'm trying to convert an AVI(has audio) to MPG and only 5 secs of the audio is loaded, the rest is muted. Why is that? I've tried with some other programs and it's work, but I only want to encode it with TMPGEnc XPress because of its quality and compatibility with my actual DVD authoring...

Is there any way to fix it?

Thanks.

Question - TDA1 - Im getting an "This is an illegal file" error No.49462
Nova  2006-05-30 00:40:47 ( ID:oo5ocl6tqxl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

First I use TMPGEnc to encode my videos too vcd format. About half way through the tmpge batch I will stop it to see if I can load the movies into dvd author, it would work. When the batch is done, about %90 of the movies gives me the this is an illegal file error, most be mpg1 of mpg2. Anyway I can fix this problem?

John  2006-10-09 04:13:59 ( ID:noiu8netvmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPGEnc DVD Author is a DVD (not VCD) authoring tool. I suggest that you use TMPGEnc to encode my videos to DVD format(not VCD format). I would also suggest that you never interrupt TMPGEnc when it is encoding a mpg file as it may result in errors in your file.

Question - TE25 - Mr No.43613
Max_it  2006-05-19 23:17:28 ( ID:dmhfvywhwdn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,
I've a dv video 16:9 format, pal. Then I look at the original dv video full size on my pc, the image occupies the entire width of the screen.
After the conversion, if I look at the mpeg video, full screen, the video lacks some pixels at the left / right border. But if I look at file properties, the width of mpeg is 720pixels, so it seems like the dimensions of the pixels was "reduced".
At this moment I haven't look at this video on a tv.
Why this strange behaivour?
Thanks.

hi!

my problem is:

i used my vob file with de-multiplex to get an m2v and and ac3 file and want to multiplex them to mpg! but i can add them in the "multiplex" window... i choose the files but the windows remains clear.. please help me!

John  2006-10-09 04:08:34 ( ID:noiu8netvmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You must convert your ac3 audio file to a MP2 file.
You can convert the ac3 file to a MP2 file using dBpowerAMP Music Converter.
You can find the latest version of dBpowerAMP Music Converter for free at:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r11.5.exe

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

To convert the ac3 file to a MP2 file:

1.) Open dBpowerAMP Music Converter
2.) Open your ac3 file3.) Choose Mp2
4.) Select Frequency 4800 and Bitrate 384kbps and click on "Convert"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

To multiplex the video and audio together into a MPG file:

1.) Open TMPGEnc Plus
2.) Click on "File" and choose "MPEG Tools"
3.) Choose "MPEG-2 Program VBR" and brouse for your video input (M2V) and your audio input (MP2)
4.) Click on "Run" and it will multiplex the two files into one DVD compliant MPG file

I hope that is of help to you

Question - TE25 - Reducing TMPGEnc's CPU usage No.43607
Milesy  2006-05-18 09:35:54 ( ID:rqnccfglf1r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My CPU temp is going upto 97oC when using TMPGEnc, and eventually causes
the machine to shut off.

Is there anyway to reduce how much of the CPU it uses?

martin81d  2006-09-23 12:15:50 ( ID:qzsu1qop8tk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Milesy, I had a similar problem. The simple fact is there's no way to reduce the CPU usage that TMPGEnc needs. The only solution is to buy a better processor. As fot the shutting down problem, it's probably because your CPU is clogged up with dust and the fan is not able to cool it properly. Once it goes above the maximum operational temperature it will shut off. Open up your PC, take the fan off the CPU unit (it should just click off and on) and clean really well inside it. You should have no more shutting down problems after that. I didn't.

Hbasm  2006-09-30 13:14:17 ( ID:5ut7iozhcnl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You shouldn't click the CPU heatsink back on without some arctic silver.

Better yet, don't remove the heatsink at all, only clean the fan.

Or add a case-fan...

There are many ways to cool it down.
