Question - TE25 - can't read DV avi No.38629
Adisak  2003-08-12 03:22:33 ( ID:x7ia./umv.r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Question - TE25 - OGM Files No.38625
Sakuya  2003-08-12 01:58:14 ( ID:ma8lfwhzhl2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My my another new format! I'm sure TMPGEnc cannot support this by itself. Is there any way to burn it onto VCD? Also, it has 2 audio tracks and I don't want one. Can I remove one?

B_Racer  2003-08-13 16:36:51 ( ID:0jd4rmr3tyn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can use VirtualDubMOD as Frameserver and to remove the unnead Audio-Stream.
You can also use AVISynth with the DirectShowSource-Command to open and Frameserve the Movie.

Sakuya  2003-08-15 03:02:34 ( ID:ma8lfwhzhl2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Actually, before you replied, I had extracted the audio and video and converted it to MPEG in TMPGEnc. Now, all that's left are the subtitles. But nobody told me what to do with them. :( Do I have to frameserve because I already converted! ;_;

B_Racer  2003-08-16 13:26:55 ( ID:sb3fayfks3m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What Kind of Subtitles? Are they muxed into the Video? If so, you can extract them by using the newest Version of VirtualDubMOD (STR- und SSA-Subs).
After then, you can use TextSub (AVISynth-Plugin) to encode them into the Video.
Or you can use SubMux to mux them into the Video. But i never tried this with VCDs, only with SVCDs.

Question - TE25 - Time No.38620
Sakuya  2003-08-11 20:38:31 ( ID:ma8lfwhzhl2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have this AVI that's only about 150MB. It's size is 544x416. It's audio sampling rate is 22050Hz. How come it takes 7 hours to encode to 480x480 with 44100Hz at 224kbps?! Now I'm wondering if it's better to to encode it to 352x240. It is a DVD-rip and I want to keep most of the quality.

s4k  2003-08-12 03:59:36 ( ID:.d1t0dul21c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

if u wanna to encode file from 480x480 to 352x240 and u wanna keep all the quality, pls use software that call dvd2avi. this software is comply to Tmpeg current version and f.i.y, i get the tutorial to use dvd2avi that comply to tmpeg current version from this web site : www.dvdrhelp.com or u just click this address that i paste -> http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tmpgencdvd.htm

ashy  2003-08-12 23:34:56 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What the pont of using DVD2AVI? This isn't going to help, you can't import AVi into DVD2AVI.

We need more info, what is the length of the AVI and what other settings are you using, such as motion search, 2pass or CBR?
What CPU do u have?

Question - TE25 - TMPEGnc doesn't support VCD 2.0 No.38615
nils mayflower  2003-08-11 17:22:44 ( ID:xlwjfwssg1m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,
according to CyberHome here in Germany TMPEGnc does not support the VCD 2.0 standard.
This is given as the reason why my DVD player doesn't play my VCDs properly.

Do you have any response? Does TMPEGnc really not support the VCD 2.0 standard to 100% ? Are there any modifications I can do so that my VCDs do play?

Thanks for any help,

-Nils-

Sakuya  2003-08-11 19:16:01 ( ID:ma8lfwhzhl2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPGEnc do support VCDs 100%. Maybe your DVD player is not designed to play VCDs or CD-Rs? Have you checked the manual? Many players varies. Mines cannot play CD-RWs or SVCDs.

B_Racer  2003-08-12 10:43:08 ( ID:0jd4rmr3tyn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

VCD20 has nothing to do with encoding the Video. It depents to the Burning/Authoring-Program to create a correct Data-Structure.

nils mayflower  2003-08-12 16:54:25 ( ID:xlwjfwssg1m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks for the tip.
So Nero v. 5 is my problem? I will investigate further.
Thanks again.

ashy  2003-08-12 18:21:48 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Actually it has been known for some time that TMPG does NOT create completely 100% VCD2.0 compatible MPEGs.
The problem lies in TMPG's multiplexer. Of course most DVD players do not have a problem with this, but some strict VCD players do have a problem.

Yours seems to be one of them.
All you need to do is demultiplex the MPEG the remultiplex it with the Philips VCD2.0 toolkit

Question - TE25 - Audio Plays With Windows Media Player But Not After Encoding No.38611
Nelson0001  2003-08-11 15:27:32 ( ID:s0hp49.xg8j )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have some AVI files that play well on Windows Media Player (version 9) but no audio is heard after encoding to NTSC film. When I go to "sourse range" (on filter settings) and advance the movie the audio line stays perfectly straight indicating that it is not reading the audio part. What could possibly be wrong. Other AVI files encode properly.

Sakuya  2003-08-11 21:10:42 ( ID:ma8lfwhzhl2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Did you set the audio settings in TMPGEnc? Does it have audio originally?

Minion  2003-08-11 21:47:18 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What is the audio format in your AVI file??? Tmpgenc does not like certain audio formats so if your AVI file uses one of those audio formats then the mpeg file will not have any audio...You would need to extract thr audio from your AVI to Wav format then use the Wav file as the audio source in Tmpgenc...

You need to download the VFAPI converter first then create a TMPG project file and then load it into the VFAPI converter and convert it to a dummy AVI.

And I have a problem that I have downloaded VFAPI converter and use it to convert my avi files(tmpg project file).
VFAPI converter outputs me another avi but smaller.
I still don't know how to use Tmpgen to make two PCs rendering the same avi file at the same time.
It likes some app cluser server...
Could you help me?
Thanks very much!!

Minion  2003-08-15 21:22:54 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is that what you are trying to Do, Get 2 PC"s to encode the same File and end up with One encoded file?? I might be wrong But I think this is Not Possible..

ashy  2003-08-16 11:34:41 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No this NOT possible, TMPG does not have network rendering capabilities. You need a Program which has this ability( I don't know of any off hand)

There is a possibility however of using AVIsynth to frame serve the source from the server PC to the client PC which would do the encoding.

For example install AVisynth as normal on both PC's, set up the AVIsynth script on the server PC then load the .AVS file into TMPG on the client.

Next to choose where the output goes, either to the client or back to the server, which one would be fastest I don't know, but at a guess if your server has a decent hard drive speed then sending the output back to the server maybe the best option. This way your CPU on the client is fully utilized for encoding only and the server does the rest.

I have never tried this. I don't even which would be the better configuration. Assuming you have different speed PC's, either using the slower PC as the server and the faster one for encoding or the other way around.
Which one would be trial and error for you to try.

Qman  2003-08-16 16:28:05 ( ID:1m1qw56v2vo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

mmm...
I know PURE TMPGenc (oringinal TMPGenc) can't use 2PCs to render the same file.
But I saw the VFAPI "VFAPI Server / Client"
It seems to make TMPGenc have this ability- rendering the same file on 2PCs...
So, I hope someone can help me to configure that. :)
I appreciate everyone who helped me.. ^_^ Thanks a lot!

Minion  2003-08-16 23:36:05 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well I went to the Sites that you Posted and the english one didn"t say that you can use VFAPI To convert the same File on 2 different PC"s, It says that you can use 2 Different Plugins can be used together and on 2 different PC"s, But I didn"t see anything about useing 2 PC"s to encode the same file, Maybe the Chinese site had More info , are you Just trying to Find a Faster way of encodeing?? it would be easier if you just used a Faster Encoder or got a Faster PC or Both.....Good Luck

Question - TE25 - BitRate Viewer not working? No.38597
toke  2003-08-11 01:32:26 ( ID:zrk6hqlmjcr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have just tested both versions and I wondering why they are giving
diffrent readings about same mpeg-file?

Version of software is v1.05.54

Why?

Makers of sowtware don't even have they e-mail address working...

aaa  Home )  2003-08-12 17:38:10 ( ID:ga7rm0/rk6r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If you bought the commercial version from TECO, you surely have one working email address. So you can send your problems there.

If you did not buy that software, but use pirat version, it detects the crack and intentionally misleads you.

ashy  2003-08-13 00:23:05 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes the crack doesn't work correctly and gives misleading results in the latest version.
As a matter of fact you will find that even when the program is not cracked that earlier versions give different readings than later versions.

toke  2003-08-15 21:15:59 ( ID:zrk6hqlmjcr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

So which one of the versions gives correct ratings, newest or earlier versions?

And yes, commercial version was cracked, because I really don't trust these small companies from out of nowhere, so I like to test programs before buying them.

Sounds really weird that cracked registration file would make program work incorrect...

Any other same kind of programs?
(Which would give more reliable impression...)

Request - TDA1 - after encoding with tmpgenc dvd there is only 20 se of sound No.48693

hi, i have just converted an avi to dvd with tmpgenc everything went ok at the end i got my two different files (m2v+wav). then i went to tmpgenc dvd to turn the files into vob files so i could burn them with nero but when done it only plays 20 seconds of the audio. this is really enoying please help

B_Racer  2003-08-16 01:23:09 ( ID:qkyo0nicg8j )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This Board is for TMPGEnc DVD Author, not for the Encoder TMPGEnc, which is not able to handle some kinds of Audio-Formats corretly. Use VirtualDubMOD to convert the Audio-Part to WAV first.

Question - TE25 - Old issue of P3Package.dll No.38594
Manfred Steidl  2003-08-10 17:21:05 ( ID:p4bakfomxpk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello to the admin's of the BBS.

I've just came across your free softwaredownload and since I'm looking for just this kind of software I was just glad. I'm new in this kind of area and my first 'selfmade' VCD or DVD is still light years away it seems...

I have an .AVI clip and wandted to burn that on a CD which I can play on my DVD/VCD reader of my TV set. But as soon I try to encode - you know the story from the past BBS entries. I'm relating especially to the mail exchange with Tara,2002/12/09 (Mon) 15:59 ( IP:68.2.25.26 ).

I'm positive that all DLL's are there in one folder, I start TMPGENC.EXE with a double click in the very same folder - but I get the message.
I've also tried to copy this DLL into the System and System32 folder as some of the mailing persons suggested - same effect.
I'm running Windows ME on a Intel Pentium 4 Processor.

I know this is an old issue but may I ask you to give me a hint what else I could try. Or how I can determine if this program won't run on my system?

Thank you very much in advance for your efforts,
Manfred

ashy  2003-08-10 18:35:06 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If you're having problems and you are sure you have extracted ALL the files from the ZIP (DO NOT RUN THE PROGRAM FROM THE ZIP) then the only advice to give you is to delete the copy you have completely from your system then download and install again.

Manfred Steidl  2003-08-12 21:26:24 ( ID:p4bakfomxpk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi Ashy,

meanwhile I found another small tool to convert AVI to MPEG.
I'll follow your instructions at a later point of time and remove everything completely and do another download and re-installation.
Because this just can't be: my computer showing me -a system programmer- the finger ;-)

Anyhow - thank you for your quick reply. Maybe we chat at a later point of time...

best regards,
Manfred

Question - TE25 - TMPGEnc suddenly won't open mpg2 files... No.38592
201flyer  2003-08-10 02:36:02 ( ID:gaq1ha9lar. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Running Win200... TMPGEnc version 2.53.35.130

Suddenly I cannot open any mpeg2 files which previously would open just fine. I get a message saying "file cannot open or is unsupported." It will accept a frame served pseudo .avi file using DVD2AVI but this was not necessary before.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Also tried setting the priority of the VFAPI direct show setting to higher priority (2) with no luck.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

ashy  2003-08-10 13:42:55 ( ID:n2grn9uovqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Your using quite an old version of TMPG. TMPG has changed the way it uses third party codecs. Codecs that prviously worked in earlier versions are sometimes not accessable in the new versions and vice-versa.
My advice is install the latest version of TMPG which now comes with it's own MPEG2 decoder so you don't need to install any external MPEG2 codecs.
