when i download a movie ie: avi and play it it looks great. when i use tmpgen and convert from avi to mpeg i get purplish splotches here and there..it starts out normal then get splotches, then normal and so on. I checked for angelpotion and I don't have it, I have divx and nimo codecs. What else can I do to get rid of the purple splotches while converting? thanks a lot!
The angel potion used to Come with the "Nimo" codec pack, so maybe check again...There is no other codec that I know of that can cause this effect besides Angel potion, unless you have other Hacked Codecs on your system..
hi all, i can create VCDs from DVD no problem at all but i also have a number of Divx avi's i have downloaded that nero will convert to mpeg for me but they are too big to fit on one disk.
i have tried using TMPGEnc 2.57 to cut and convert these Divx avi's and everything seems to work fine except i have sound but no movie ?
that is, when i play the said mpeg back in say media player there is only sound and nothing else???
any ideas how i can convert one 700Mb Divx avi in to an mpeg and then split it so it would fit on say 2 CDRs so i can make a VCD?
You probably just need to raise the "DirectShow File reader" in the "Vfapi Plugins" ..go to "options" to "enviromental settings" to "Vfapi Plugins" and raise the "direct show file reader" to "2"..You know the movie is encodeing if the picture is displayed in the Tmpgenc window while encodeing...
I have A 940MB muxed mpeg2 file I need to cut this in half, so I can Burn onto 2 cds. I use the cut/join feature in tmpge. I start the cut at 00:00:00 and try to cut at 54:36:00 and no matter what tmpge program freezes up. I am using amd athlon 2000+ processor with 256mb memory and windows XP for my OS.
any help appreciated...
Tammy
This is a common problem with the "Mpeg Tools" and there is no Fix for it, you have to use something else to edit your mpeg files..go here :http://apachez.net/ and go to the tools section and try out some of the mpeg editors there..
I am converting an AVI file to MPEG-1. I have set the converstion to VBR and the estimated file size is 4.8M I instead wind up with a 14M file. I've tried other settings and always get the same file size.
You can"t accurately predict the file size with a VBR encode unless you are useing 2-Pass VBR,if it says the file is going to be 4.8mb then is the AVI about 25 seconds long?? or is it closer to 90 seconds?Have you set the "System" setting to "Video-CD Non-standard?? set it to this if you are makeing a VCD and set it to Mpeg1-VBR if you are just makeing a Mpeg1 file...
For those who may be having problems using the Ligos codecs with the new versions of TMPG.
I have discovered that using stinky's MPEG2 codec installer (which happens to use Ligos codecs) no longer works with the new TMPG versions as of vesion 2.58 even though the actual codec does show up in the VFAPI plugins.
I decided to try another version of the Ligos codecs which did NOT work with versions of TMPG prior to version 2.58.
This particular version of the Ligos codecs installs and shows up in the VFAPI plugins and seems to work with MPE2 files no problem.
dbpower amp is a great audio conversion utility. U can simply right click a movie and convert its audio to wav for tmpgenc etc. However with avi files u can't do this.Surly dbpower amp can convert the many forms of audio avis come with. Can u configure it to do this?
What do you mean it doesn't convert between formats? Of course it does otherwise I wouldn't have suggested it.
Highlight the particular stream you wish to extract or convert then right click it and up will pop the menu allowing you to select the compression type.
well..in windows explorer u can right click say an asf file and select 'convert to' to get dbpower amp's selection of audio types....its nice and convient. Love it for avi files too. thanks for avimux though....it does the job
I have two avi files prt1 and 2. I encoded the first prt ok, but after 11 mins encoding the 2nd prt in comes to a halt with a message...."index of scan line is out of range(240)". what is this and how can i resolve this???? help needed plz.
This error usually comes up when encodeing Bad AVI files, meaning that there are certain corrupted sectors in the file that Tmpgenc is haveing problems reading..You might try useing "Virtual Dub" to make a Copy of the file whith could possibly fix the problem...
I made a movie in Adobe Premier that has about nine clips with short transitions between each clip. TMPGEnc completes the Mpeg2 encoding in about 5 hours, and appears to do so successfully. The resulting Mpeg file is 3.86 gigs. However, when I drag the file into DVDit to setup the DVD burn, DVDit says that it could not find a suitable decoder for the file. Please help!
You probably need an MPEG2 codec installed, but I would have thought DVDit would install it's own. This question has arisen before.
Try demultiplexing the MPEG file and load the video and audio separately.
i am formating a avi file to play on a dvd and it worked ok but it is a tv series around 25 minutes long and my cdrw hold 80 minutes, yet when i copy i can only get one movie on a disk anyway to get 2?????????????????
Depends on how large the file is and what format it is encoded to.
An 80min disk will hold 800mb of MPEG data. As long as both your MPEG files are smaller in total than this then you should have no problem fitiing 2 on a disk.
Just drag both files into your burning software in the order you wish them played.
First of all, I'm from Germany, so please excuse my Englisch. Here is my problem: I downloaded the two files of TMPGENC Vers. 2.58, unzipped in the same folder (I think) with EasyZip 2000. Then I tried to run "TMPGENC.vfp_install". I always got the german message "Fehler beim Laden von TMPGENC.vfp. Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden" ("Fault by loading TMPGENC.vfp. Couldn't find the Modul"). If I open only the TMPEGENC.exe to use the program directly I got the message "Can't open p3package.dll".
Does anyone knows a solution? Pleas write in easy English.
Thanks
Use a different program to unzip the files. TMPG is picky about what unzips it. Try the latest Winrar. If it doesn't work download again.
Also you can't run TMPG from the zip, it must be unzipped first.
