I am thinking about buying TMPGEnc Xpress to encode stuff from native HD resolution to a resolution that fits my TV best (HD Ready, 1366x768).
Until now the only optioin I found is DIVX HD 1280x700 - is there any way
to create a H.264 (or maybe a DIVX) with the above mentioned size settings?
I simply want to avoid that my TV is "upscaling" from 1280x720 by feeding it it's native resolution.
I have video and i want to cut this vedio to small parts like:
i want to cut it to 4 parts and every part nearly two minutes .
How can i save those 4 parts .
see the photo: http://up.dwltna.com/files/pl1ygve79lyi65gnzf96.gif
You simply split your clips in the cut-edit window. Then in the Format stage, select "Multiple file output" as the output mode.
To split your clip, use the clip split button in the Cut-edit window. The clip split button has an icon that looks like this:
<-|->
(two arrows and a bar in the middle).
Use the clip split button to set the split point. Then click "OK". A clip split window appears. Click on the "Split" button to register each division as a separate clip.
Just to make sure according to the info on this site, CUDA is only enable to help with video filters right? not encoding the video itself? Because I tried to have CUDA ecoding my videos at its 100% and so far my cpu is doing most of the work (81%) and CUDA buzzling at 19%. I didn't have any filter checked. My laptop comes with geforce 8600m GS with latest forceware. Plz clarify!
Yes, Cuda is only enabled for video filters and MPEG-1/2 decoding. So if you're not doing either of those, the output time will not be accelerated such as in the example you gave.
I have just downloaded the free version and the tutorial I am following for my project says to go to the environmenal screen under the option drop down list, but there isn't any envonmental button there. Has anyone else had this problem? I downloaded my copy of that site and I've dl'd it again here but the same thing keeps happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i have a MPEG-2 Files with the same resolution and same Audio and same Bitrate
i want to Merge tham without to encoder tham
TMPGEnc CAN DO THIS?
if yes, how i do that?
which option to mark?
here the Picture after i do File > MPEG Tools... > Merge & Cut http://up39.siz.co.il/up3/demzo5gjktyn.png
no Audio
No same bitrate
i use TMPGEnc-2.524.63.181-Free
in TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress i dont find the "Merge & Cut"
I don't think you can merge MPEG files without re-encoding them with TMPGEnc free or TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress. Try TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3; it has what they call Smart Rendering which does minimal re-encoding.
I compile a DivX Ultra project. I add several videoclips from DVD-video. I chose not to import chapter entry points. Then I chose Chapter menu from template. In Link Editor I made sure all the chapters have proper links. During Simulation all chapters played correctly. Then I output my progect as *.divx. But when I opened the ready *.divx in Divx Player and chose to play chapter 2(x), the player always started with chapter 1, no matter which chapter I choose. Why can it be so?
Got the same problem here. Been in contact with DiVX "Support", filed numerous bug reports and all I get is that it's a problem in the DiVX Player. It's on their To-Do list...
It's almost a year since I filed the first bugreport, I've requested updates every quarter or so. But it's always the same negative answer.
What really upsets me is that they advertise that it has chapter support but it's never worked! How can you claim something when it's obviously not working?!
My bet is that they don't know how to fix it...

I think this really is just a DivX Player problem and not a problem with Authoring Works 4. If I remember correctly, chapters worked fine on my friend's DivX Ultra DVD player. I'll try and make sure when I have the chance.
The problem is Divx player, before DivXInstaller 6.8.2.8,that divx player works very well with chapter support. You should ask divx company to fix this problem. Anyway, I already complained that problem without any response.
I think you guys have an unsupported grapgic card model.
In their website they have written in red text this:
"*Speed improvements are dependent on your hardware specifications.
The GeForce8800 GTX/GTS video card using the G80 core is not currently supported. Thank you for your understanding.
Decoding benefits apply to MPEG-1/2 video only and may produce unexpected video output quality compared to regular CPU decoding."
Reference: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/te4xp.html
so I think you should get a new CUDA card.
good luck
im having the sape problem too, im using the Nvidia gtx 280 which is the newset of nivida and Cuda is not working for me even with the latest driver.
any idea about fixing that isue.
Are you guys applying video filters? Are you decoding MPEG-1/2? If you are not doing either of those, you will not see a difference in encoding time. Simple as that.
Also, update the software to the latest version; they just released 4.6.3.267.
I have the same problem. Before Cuda would show up now it's always on 0.0%. I'm using an 8800GT (G92) with the latest Nvidia 180 drivers. Is it a bug in the latest 268 release because version 267 worked ok?
Forgive please my newbie question, but I am planning on buying a camcorder (Canon Vexia HF100) that produces only 1080i AVCHD files. But my projectors are 720p. So can I use TMPGEnc to convert the 1080i AVCHD files to 720p mpeg2 files?
I think its possible, just check about MPEG-2 output template settings and choose the size, if I remember well you dont need to set it since its already set by default.
But before buy the software I recomend you to test its Trial version first.
good luck
This is more of a question and if the answer is NO, then a request.
Is it possible to utilize 100% of all four of my CPU cores to encode a movie? I can see that during the encode all four cores are being used, but the encoder never uses their full potential. Even when encoding 2+ movies at a time (while running one instance of the batch encoder) it never goes above 50% utilization of all four cores. It uses nearly 100% of core 0, and about 33% of core 1, 2 and 3. I would really like to be able to fully utilize all the power of my quad core to reduce my encoding time.
To clarify, I CAN fully use 100% of all four cores by running two instances of the batch encoder and then setting the affinity of one batch encoder to cores 0/1 and the other batch encoder to cores 2/3. This is a lame work around that I shouldn't have to do, but works fine for encoding more than one movie at a time. My main complaint is when I only want to encode one movie. It takes twice as long as it should because all cores aren't fully utilized.
Is there some setting I missed to fully use all four cores? If not, I would really like to see a fix for this in the near future.
I think this is not consern from the application speed regarding the cores, its about codec's speed so it depends on the codecs used and its features.
For example by encoding with QT the speed is not full since QT codec does not or supports to use all the cores.
good luck
I am running TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress 4.6.3.267. When I load a .m2ts stream (for example after ripping one of my Blu-Ray disc) it shows the video and audio stream as eg 0001.m2ts). Now in some cases I am good and it plays english audio and I can convert the movie. However many times yo get frensh or spanish as language. Any idea where I can select the audio track or how to make sure I get an english audio stream ? The help file does not give any info about it.
You have 2 options;
1st-- Download the Editor 3 Trial version; http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tme3.html
and try this:
-1 Open the MPEG Tools [Demultiplexer Advanced] from Editor 3, and
input your .m2ts file by drag 'n drop into the "Input" part.
-2 Click the "Start" button to demultiplex your file (the output files
must be in the same folder).
-3 Input the video and audio files in XPress 4 at the Clip properties
window you can set and choose the Audio English file already
demultiplexed from from Editor's 3 Demultiplexer Advanced.
2nd-- Look in Google or other portal this freeware application "tsMuxerGUI" and tri it.
good luck
I'm trying to add music to my video clips. I would like to loop the audio if the clip is too long. I can't seem to find a way to do this. I tried clicking Audio 1 and stream to audio 2 if necessary, but Audio two is then grayed out. Is this possible? Thanks.
