My video files are of standard quality, mostly MOV files. I'm pretty sure I have the default video quality on my TMPG set to INSANE quality, but when I watch the resulting DVD the quality really sucks. Is there anything I can do to remedy this??
Hi all
first time i've used this program all was ok until i got to the output burning stage! i've made a blu ray disc with popup menu but when i try to out put to file or dvd i get a alert page telling me my buttons are to close or overlapping in my pop up page menus? i've checked and they are not over lapping or to close to each other! so what can i do to sort this? i've shut down program, rebooted but still get the same problem!
thanks in advance for any help!
cheers Rob,uk.
Did you move the position of the items in your popup menu? You can check if your buttons are too close together in the menu editor. In the bottom right corner, activate the option to "display the active frame of an item"; it's the fifth box from the right. See screen grab:
In the image, notice that some of the items have a red cross-hatch over them. These are the items that are too close together. Just move them until the cross-hatch goes away. The item that is only outlined in red is okay.
Hi mate
thanks for reply but no i haven't moved or altered them they are as the program puts them there, they are very small with plenty of space around them YES they are marked with red x's as you said but no matter where i move them the problem remains the same! i have 2 pop up menu tracks with 21 pages on 1 and only 1 page on the other and the problem is with every pop up page according to the program! but when you look at the pages its obvious theres nothing wrong even though every text button is marked with red x's? could it be a setting? or is it a program bug? i only installed the program/downloaded it a couple of days ago!
cheers Rob
Which menu template or menu layout(s) are you using? Is this a PAL Blu-Ray project? Have you changed any other settings from the default? Let me know and I'll try and see if I can recreate the problem.
Hi mate
i've sorted it, yes its a pal blu ray project, even though the program was telling me my buttons etc were to close in the popup menu i found by making them slightly bigger ( yes bigger not smaller ) and not moving them at all the problem was solved!
Now thats a strange one!
thanks for your help mate, Rob
TMPGEnc DVD Author 3.
Created a DVD with eight movies/titles. When playing on a DVD player, one title doesn't start from the beginning, although the source is complete.
Please, help.
Sorry, I originally entered this as a BUG Report, feel that it really should be a question, but I didn't know how to reclassify it.
Having a problem getting this to run under VISTA with SP2. Get an "VMELib DVDAuthor Project Instance Not Found" error. Worked great under SP1 and XP. Any idean what's wrong? TIA.
Your best bet is probably to contact their email support and let them know about this. They may have a solution, or at the very least, it will alert them to the problem.
Send the info to the TMPGEnc support site. After the initial acknowledgement, no response. Anyone have any suggestions? Any idea why SP2 seems to be the issue? TIA

Unfortunately, looping the audio isn't possible...it's not even an option. You can either adjust the slideshow to the length of the music or you don't and the music will end and the slideshow will keep going.
I have an old, free version of TMPGenc 2.5 but with new software, which produces the input files, png appears to be the format of choice. Cause I can't open the free download software for TMPGenc 2.5 (Cause my old one expired and there's a registry entry preventing me from re-loading!!) can anyone tell me if the newer or paid version can support/read png files?
You can't truly remove it, but you can hide it if it's a custom menu. Just replace the button graphic with a transparent gif or something and resize it so it's very small. Next, make sure other buttons aren't able to navigate to it with the link editor.
If you're using a menu template, then there's no way to remove it unless you get rid of the subtitles.
Ok, I upgraded to the new version. I have made a DVD using my Toshiba DVD Recorder on a RW DVD. I copy it into the computer using the new release and it seizes up the program after about 20% to 35% finished. Only way out is to reboot computer.
Now I have mpeg editor 3, and it copies it perfectly.
I downgraded to version 4.0.2.14 and its copies it perfectly. There is a major bug in the newest release.
Found the problem. It was in the pci SATA Controller card. I exchanged the VIA SATA card with one made by Silicon Image (chipset) and that fixed the problem. The replacement also fixed the 'B's Recorder writer' that comes with Tmpgenc 4.0.
I just found that you can also force subtitles to show up instead of having to select them.
To do it, go to the Source stage and click on the "Settings" button for the track you'd like to force subs on. In the track settings window, for "Default subtitles stream", just select which sub stream you'd like to force.
Verify by going to the Simulation stage or using the track preview button.
having a problem that i can't solve in TAW4.
By capturing a stream from my DV camcorder (SONY MV700) always the first scene is captured in a wrong audio sample rate (32000 Hz). then from the second scene and following everything's fine. Strange thing. What could it be?
I was really interested in TAW4, but the problem is already in the trial version. So I usually use TMPGEnc DVD Author 2.0, because of this bug. even the new updated version (4.0.4.24) couldn't solve the problem.
Would be nice to get an advice.
Greetings
Christian
