Request - TAW4 - Menu making No.64676
twillard  2011-05-05 02:02:47 ( ID:a6ozlkbvpu6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've selected the movies that I want to put on a DVD & then I go to menu making. What I want is that when I put my DVD in the player, that it goes to the menu and not start playing the first movie automatically. I made my menu up and it shows the menu just like I want it to be. But when I put the DVD in the player, it does show the menu, but goes right into the first move. If I go into the DVD player menu and pick title, it goes to the menu that I want to show up when I insert DVD. I've been fighting this for a more than few hours now & getting tired of restarting this process over & over. Thank you for any help.

tkrave  2011-05-05 02:23:35 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There is a setting for that in a few places.

If using the Menu Wizard, template mode, it's the third screen ("DVD-Video playback settings"). There is a box titled "Disc insertion action". Choose "Display the top menu".

If you're creating a custom menu, it's the fourth screen.

If you've already created a menu, in the Menu Stage's main window, click on the "DVD-Video global menu settings" button in upper left corner. The disc insertion action setting is at the bottom of the settings window that will appear.

There are many popups in tmpgenc that cannot be disabled. Please add option to for every popup to be disabled.

Examples:

Closing main applications always asks:
"Project is not saved. Save?"

Removing clip from "edit" tab asks:
"You are about to delete clip. Are you sure?"

Removing job from batch window asks:
"Removes the selected batch processing. Do you want?"

For people who use your program often, it's very very annoying having to click on these popups all the time. Please add checkbox option to each box to not ask again.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Windows Handles grow without bound No.64673
bga123  2011-05-03 22:49:51 ( ID:jibxywan2v6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 seems to have a memory leak in that the longer it runs on Windows-7 64-bit the more Windows handles it consumes growing without bounds.

Is this a recognized issue by Pegasys and secondly, if it is are then plans to release a patch?

If not, how can I get my TMPGEnc v4 license re-enabled as t his version did not exhibit the problem.

tkrave  2011-05-05 02:14:48 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

bga123  2011-07-11 10:31:42 ( ID:jibxywan2v6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

v 5.0.2.22. also tried the later version with the same problem

Hooley  2011-05-03 09:35:56 ( ID:kud2ynlprck )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No major drama - finally found the answer in DVD-Videoglobal menu settings under Item Display. Only wanted to put in a "To be continued on Disc 2" notation on screen.

johnny  2011-05-01 15:53:20 ( ID:kyk9bk/v23h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

For "formats" there is option to save custom template profile. The problem is that there should be an option for video resolution and video framerate to use original video specification.

A user may want to save other settings but keep original resolution and frame rate for conversion. The way it is right now, if user selects custom saved profile, they have to manually set resolution every time.

The built in templates such as "mpeg file output" or "avi file output" already have this feature and will use original resolution. Please add option so that save custom templates also have that feature.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Custom FPS No.64655
karadur  2011-05-01 12:41:20 ( ID:xu.xauigxcw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there any way that I can enter a custom FPS in video encoding section. I have a video file which is 27 FPS and there no selection available for 27 FPS under any codec. Selecting any other FPS will causes audio video sync.

Question - TME3 - Version: 3.4.0.151 update No.64654
Iain Fisher  2011-05-01 03:39:35 ( ID:alofpoqpj/j )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have today tried to update my TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 to Version: 3.4.0.151. This resulted in an error of

Error 1402. Could not open key:
Unknown\Components\DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8\0DC8CB51B56A0D742ADD098A4295F08A
VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE SUFFICENT ACCESS TO THAT KEY, OR CONTACT YOUR SUPPORT PERSONNEL.

I have tried turning off UAC and running the update. I have also tried system restore but the previous version 3.2.0.127 was broken. I then uninstalled this version and tried to install 3.2.0.127 but got the same error 1402. I am running Vista 64 bit with all updates.

Bug report - TAW4 - No usable writing driver installed No.64644
Alba  2011-04-29 04:27:44 ( ID:.podhrnqm/a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,
I am using the trial version. I can't burn a DVD, I keep getting the message "NO USABLE WRITING DRIVER".
What does that mean and what should I do?

Thanks

tkrave  2011-04-29 04:44:42 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What version are you using?

Alba  2011-04-30 06:03:55 ( ID:.podhrnqm/a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, I'm using Authoring Works 4, not sure which version.

tkrave  2011-04-30 08:40:35 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It shows the version during startup or within the program, click on "Options" then select "About..."

The latest version is 4.1.0.47 and it has an updated writing driver.

Alba  2011-04-30 18:00:42 ( ID:.podhrnqm/a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, that's the version I have.
Apparently the update doesn't do me any good, I tried to install WORKS 3.1.2.176 instead, and it's working just fine!
Is it still possible to buy this version?

tkrave  2011-05-03 02:28:33 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't think so. Version 3 is discontinued.

Check this list of supported DVD/BD writing drives:
http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/drivelist_20110329_en.htm

Maybe you need to update the driver for your writer or update the firmware.

Alba  2011-05-03 03:25:19 ( ID:.podhrnqm/a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have Optiarc AD7561S, in the list you gave it says AD7561A, would that be compatible ?

tkrave  2011-05-03 04:39:39 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There is a possibility that your drive isn't supported. I can't find that model on the official Sony Optiarc website, so if you want to update the firmware/drivers, you'll probably be able to find it through your computer maker's website (HP, Dell, etc.). Your drive is probably an OEM model so going through the computer's maker is probably the best way to get the proper drivers/firmware.

If updating the drivers/firmware doesn't work, then you may have to try an older version of Authoring Works 4. You'll need version 4.0.12.42 or below; those versions use the same writing driver as version 3 I think.

Alba  2011-05-13 16:17:58 ( ID:.podhrnqm/a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok, I'll try that. Thanks.

Right-click "My Computer", select Properties-->Hardware tab-->Device Manager.
Expand "DVD/CD-ROM drives" to see the make and model.

Question - TAW4 - Not enough storage message No.64643
ElAguila  2011-04-29 01:42:41 ( ID:pv5v/piuxew )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have an mkv that I am trying to convert to to a 25GB bluray. I am able to read the file, create chapters points, and create a menu. It plays fine in the simulation. When I start the coversion it goes for a few minutes and then I get a pop error box that says not enough storage space. I have 600GB available on the destination drive and the 500GB on the temp directory drive. I have 6GB of ram on my system. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. It is not a permission issue within windows as I am able to do other conversions using the same folders. Any ideas why this is happening?

tkrave  2011-05-03 04:51:41 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Not really sure what the problem could be.

In general, if you have a problem you should contact user support in addition to posting here. That way, you double your odds of finding a solution.

Several of us have had this problem. Someone said they could render the disc in Batch Mode (even if it's a batch one one...), and that works. There *is* a permanent solution, but I cannot recall it right now.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Fixing a corrupt .wtv file No.64642
benoitm  2011-04-28 19:26:06 ( ID:ad0x1zhopak )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have a .wtv file that contains a MPEG2 stream recorded from a DVB-T USB device.
The files seems somewhat corrupt: Windows 7 refuses to convert it to the .dvr-ms format and TVMW5 refuses to convert it to MPEG2 PS (an empty "ActiveMovie Window" opens and the program seems to hang).
However, if I bypass the convert to PS step, I can view and edit the file; but when I select a part of it for export as MP4, the resulting output shows a frozen frame from somewhere the middle of the file until the end; it looks like the DVB-T stream was badly damaged at some part and the TVMW5 encoder choke on that part, while with the TVMW5 clip editor, I can successfully navigate anywhere in the file...

Since this recording contains an important part that I want to play on a non-Windows platform, I need absolutely to fix this file and convert the wanted portion: any suggestions ?

tkrave  2011-04-29 04:53:11 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've encountered something like this before. This usually happens because the broadcast stream signal is weak (when watching TV, the picture starts to stutter or become blocky). In these cases, you won't be able to convert to MPEG-2 PS as you've experienced. I've been able to fix it by cutting out the corrupted section in the cut-editor.

Typically, in the cut-editor you can see where the corruption is because the thumbnails will stop appearing and the preview will not function correctly.

Since I usually don't need the corrupted part, I cut/delete that section or split the clip a few seconds after the corruption. I then check the resulting clips to see if the corruption still exists. If it doesn't, it will output just fine.

Radagast  2011-05-07 01:13:40 ( ID:1tpgqgd7ozc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, I'm seeing tihs issue too.

I get your MO for fixing it, but is that really all that can be done? I mean, imagine a complete 2 hour movie where this happens every 5 minutes :(

Kind rgds

Radagast  2011-05-07 01:41:34 ( ID:1tpgqgd7ozc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Update:

I've now tried converting 5 different movies I had recorded. They have all failed like this. This is slowly rendering TMPGEnc 5 useless to me :(

tkrave  2011-05-10 02:40:01 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'd say your signal is too weak, which is causing the corruption in the recording. That's not really TVMW5's fault; I don't think any program will like a weak signal wtv file. Your best bet is to get a better antenna or try and get a better signal by moving your antenna to a more optimal location.

tkrave  2011-05-13 04:17:51 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the latest version (5.0.6.38) is better at importing wtv files even if they are missing chunks of data due to a weak signal. Of course, you'll still empty/corrupt frames where the weak signal is.

gordoncanada  2011-08-02 11:15:52 ( ID:.g5g8jv545o )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You guys are lucky; I can import wtv files, but they always freeze at about twenty minutes in and play the frozen frame for the duration of the movie. Am I the only one having this problem?
Gord

Question - TE40 - Can't open flv file No.64641
Manokumar  2011-04-28 18:20:20 ( ID:xx5x7qttx1a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Can't open flv file

tkrave  2011-04-30 05:14:34 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

4.0 XPress can only import certain types of flv files, so yours may be the wrong type.

Bob  2011-05-03 00:20:30 ( ID:5naf9/4evxn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TKRAVE, isn't it also dependent upon what kind of codecs you have installed as well? Seems like I could not open FLV files at one point but then installed a codec and it worked.

tkrave  2011-05-10 08:36:33 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, it can also depend on any directshow codecs you have installed. I am not sure what a good flv codec is though.

Question - TE40 - Can't load video portion of file No.64623
jimmyzzz  2011-04-25 02:43:06 ( ID:zl6zgovaws6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just moved TMPGEnc 4.0 Express to a new computer with Windows 7 Pro (64 bit). The program now will not allow the video part of an avi file to be loaded. I can load the same avi file if I use the trial version of TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5. I can view the file with Windows Media Player and other video players. The file was created with Adobe Premiere. Any assistance will be appreciated.

tkrave  2011-04-30 05:16:23 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'd say it's a codec problem. Make sure the codec is for the 32-bit version of Windows and not a 64-bit version; I think 4.0 XPress will only be able to use 32-bit versions of any codec.
