Question - TE25 - Audio Clean up No.41702
Adonisxx  2004-05-21 19:32:11 ( ID:17meu6bo1vr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello guys, for example if you download a movie off the internet that has audio problems such as a muffled sound and hissing is there a way to clean the audio up with TMPGEnc????

Thanks in advance for your help guys!

ashy  2004-05-21 20:45:49 ( ID:jitozw1gquh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No, you need an audio editor such as Goldwave or Cooledit(recommended).

Thanks Ashy i will try those!

Question - TE25 - Use TMPG to covert .avi into Pinnacle Studio 9 proj? No.41701
Gary Sitton  2004-05-21 18:52:46 ( ID:ansct4mopdj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have some old Movie Shaker files that I have saved as .avi files. I am wondering if I can use TMPGEnc to convert the files into a format that can be imported to Studio 9 from Pinnacle. When I run the conversion on a small sample file, I get a .m2v file and a .wav file; however, I have no clue how to get this to a Pinnacle format. Any help would be much appreciated.

Question - TE25 - M2v files greater than 4.7 gig No.41698
Vern  2004-05-21 18:05:59 ( ID:bvjpyy6ndw. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am encoding an .avi file that I digitized from a VHS tape. The encoded file will be greater than 4.7 gig so will not fit on one DVD blank. What process should I use to break the resultant .m2v file into to parts so that I can burn 2 DVDs?

ashy  2004-05-21 20:44:16 ( ID:jitozw1gquh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

How long is the AVI?
If it's around the 2hr mark then you should be able to fit this no problem on one disk with great quality using VBR mode.
However, if you must split it you can either use the source range function to split it while encoding or split it after encoding with the MPEG tools.

Unless this AVI is very long you must have your bitrate set too high for it to be larger than 4.7GB (actually 4.37GB)
I think you're gonna find it unecessary to split it to 2 disks especially seeing as it is captured from a low quality source such as VHS anyway.

Thanks for the feedback.

Question - TE30 - No overwrite file warning No.53093
anton  2004-05-21 06:36:05 ( ID:at0ygnxhyen )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

T3 allows me to output to m2v and ac3 using a file name that already exists, there is no warning most of the times, on rare occasions only, the warning works

Question - TE30 - Trial and 59.94fps No.53092
wcpaul  2004-05-21 06:24:52 ( ID:m8km0qiv2po )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Got the trial working.

Two more annoyances. The major features I need are AC3 audio and 59.94fps encoding. AC3 is almost certainly not enabled in the trial (bummer). But what about 59.94fps? There is even a drop down selection for that frame rate.

When selected in MPEG Output mode, an error says it is not a legal frame rate. But I can find no way to select MP@HL like in TMPGEnc 2.5.

Is this a bug or is High Level just not available in the trial?

Question - TE30 - T3 missing T2.5 feature No.53091
anton  2004-05-21 05:48:52 ( ID:at0ygnxhyen )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am unable to encode wav audio to mp2 or ac3 without adding a video file. I can use T2.5 for audio encoding without video. T3 insists on video!

Request - TE30 - Limited Image sequence formats No.53090
rs  2004-05-20 22:15:32 ( ID:ejxoh.ha4cc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPGenc has been a staple here for DVD authoring and MPEG1, for the last couple of years, and it is disappointing to see that .tga image sequences are no longer supported in the 3.X release.

While I realise that we are in a minority of users, as a high end post production company, image sequences are the foundation of the workflow here, so being able to use .tif or .tga files is a necessity. Unfortunately .bmp or jpg won't cut it.

Is there any intention of adding this support, or are we stuck on version 2.5?

Regards,

Richard

Question - TE30 - XPress 3 License will not validate No.53089
Producer  2004-05-20 15:01:36 ( ID:0yybjv3pc4m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I bought XPress 3 today and it took me 4 hours to try and understand the download instructions. Has to be the most convoluted I have ever seen! I finally got to the point of receiving a serial number.....now the downloaded software will not validate. I have checked everything a hundred times. What is going on here guys???

Question - TE30 - Encoding NTSC Film MPEG No.53088
cr1970  2004-05-20 14:17:29 ( ID:s9tdydgcvno )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When I open an AVI clip, it is showing as 30 frames per second, instead of the correct 23.976.

If I encode the file as an SVCD 29.97fps the output is fine. If I choose NTSC Film there are problems with interlacing in the final file.

If I frame serve the file the the correct fps is shown on the source screen.

The files work as expected in TMPGenc 2.5 Plus.

Is this an error in the application, or am I choosing the wrong settings?

Thanks

Question - TE25 - Serial Code No.41696
willi  2004-05-20 12:57:25 ( ID:2khkqaxggtf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Where exactly do I have to fill in my serial number to make the programm run after the test period is over?

ashy  2004-05-20 17:21:36 ( ID:v/6p18ugeff )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Go back to the site where you purchased the serial from and you should be able to work it out from there.
As far as I'm concerned if the serial is legit then I can't understand why you don't know the reason you're having this problem because everthing is explained.

Question - TE30 - Periodic License Renewal not good No.53084
anton  2004-05-20 11:51:04 ( ID:at0ygnxhyen )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just upgraded to version 3 and the ac3 plugin (from 2.5)
My edit computer does not have an internet connection, this is common sense!
I had to steal a modem from another computer in order to cativate the software, only to find out that I need to do this on a periodic basis, that is not good since I bought the software and I have the license key already.
What is the definition of periodic, once per week, once per month, once per year? if less than once per year, I must get my money back and I will continue to use 2.5 which works excellent. I simply don't have time to install a modem on a regular basis to activate software that I already own!

Kika  2004-05-20 22:45:30 ( ID:qkyo0nicg8j )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Same here. After one Day of testing (nad extra installing and removing XP to be able to test it), i'm back to TMPGEnc 2.5.
Periodic Licencing ? How long will this be supported? What to do in a couple of Years? Maybe the company will be gone some day - and then? Throw the software into the Trashcan?
I definatly will not use such restrictive software.

TmpegENC3.0 ... Weekly relicensing? Your kidding, right?

With the new so called "Intenet Viruses" being the new frontier for hackers, you don't have to do anything to get infected except be connected to the Internet. You cannot connect safely to the Internet with a Microsoft product.

My edit computer is my livlihood. It has never been connected to the Internet ... never will be.

I hope you folks at TMPGEnc Net change your policy because I can't afford to change mine!

Cheers,
Gil

I agree, this really stinks. With the quality of this trial not even working, due to expiring one day after I get an e-mail advertising it. How do I know they will be up and running tomorrow? I can't get the trial to even start the first time. I find it hard to trust this quality in the long term.

Question - TE30 - No Way No.53083
Stolen  2004-05-20 02:17:31 ( ID:d./d9i9jflm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

To be able to try out this new software, you can download a Trial Version, but must have an Internet connection in order to use the functions.
Consider these three points:
(1) In most cases you will have to disable your Firewall !!!
(2) I want to install TMPGEnc Xpress on a different computer which is not connected to the Internet. Why? My video capture computer has NEVER been connected to the Internet, and that is why it is still virus free !!!!
(3) If and when you want to rebuild or re-install Windows, you'd better hope that Pegasys is still in business, online on the Internet, in order to reinstall Xpress.

Sorry Pegasys...After purchasing TMPGenc Plus, DVD Source Creator, and TMPGEnc DVD Author.....You've lost me !!!
