I get a "cannot load P3Package.dll" error when I try to encode. Any suggestions. I have the "free demo" program in program files on "C drive" and the p3package.dll is in there too. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to go from Creatives Digital VCR to SVCD. A post on dvdrhelp.com mentioned that installing the TMPGEnc mpeg2 plugin was all that was needed to convert these nonstandard mpeg2 files. Well, it's not working.
First problem is that TMPGEnc gets to around frame 38000 (out of 10700) and then the rest of the converted file is that last frame for the video. The sound however does continue. Same thing if I try to preview it, or when I try to do cut editing. I can view the video in a player and it works as expected.
I'm also having problems with the sound being out of sync. I did a short test and it came out fine. Then I let it run the entire file and it was way off.
Any suggestions on either problem? Or a consensus on what really works? I've been searching usenet, forums, websites, etc. and what one person says works for them, doesn't seem to work for another. Or for me. An example, Ulead Moviefactory has been said to work. It did load the file ok, but the resulting SVCD had a stutter in the video. It was like every few seconds, it would rewind maybe half a seconds worth, then continue. Is there a name for this?
Well the reason what it is sticking on that Frame is Probably because there is come sort of an error in the Source file at the Point were it stops, Try this it should work unless the File is totally Corrupted..Download "DVD2AVI" and Make a "D2V" project File and Encode that..DVD2AVI is a Frame server for Mpeg files and it is Better to use it than Loading Mpeg2 files directly into Tmpgenc..
When I try to load the d2v and wav files i have ripped into TMPGEnc, the wav works but now the d2v says 'unsupported' or some bullshit. I've done three thing successfuly already and i can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong.
Any help would be hot
Well if you have done it before rescently then you Probably have the Correct Plugin installed so what will probably work is to Just make another D2V file, that usually works..And remember Dont Move,Delete Or rename any of the Vob/Mpeg files or the D2V files from there Default locations untill after you have encoded the Movie..

i used this vcd galaxy program to rip a copy of labrynth
worked great
got it all working
it came with a copy of tmpgenc
so i tried to put the dv2 file where its supposed to go
and it pauses and then give me the kernel32.dll error
and ive tried many versions of tmpgenc and it just doesnt work
the second step of this after ripping the files from the dvd is to use dvd2avi
is that the problem or what?
When It is time to start recording, I get the message to play MPEG-2 files, DVD player files must be installed on your system. MPEG-2 files cannot be played without such playback software.
Funny thing is I DO have dvd playback software on computer w/ Windows XP and I can easily play DVD's.
The Message Is NOT telling you that you don"t have the Software it is Just telling you that to play Mpeg2 files you have to use DVD Playing software..It says this if you have the software or Don"t have the software so there is nothing wrong....
Will TPMG encode and compress for web delivery only? I want to compress an minidv avi into mpeg with TPMG. It keeps making an mv2 file that is not recognised by either player. Is TPMG the right program for encoding and compressing for web delivery?
For Web content the Mpeg format you need is Mpeg1, you are encodeing to Mpeg2,and you have chosen some wrong setting Cuz a "M2V" file is a Mpeg2 video file with NO Audio..Most streaming Mpeg1 content is Very Low Bitrate Low resolution Files, so you would Probably get better Quality and File sizes if you used a Different Format Like "WMV or ASF" which can be made By "Windows Media Encoder" you can even Use Windows Media Encoder to Capture directly from your MiniDV Cam right to WMV/ASF Format....
What are you useing to Convert the Vfapi/AVI file with?? And were are you Typeing "RUN"?? and Have you installed the Vfapi Codec?? And have you tried a Different Frameserver to accomplish what you want to do???

Ok. Here are the details:
Source material: AVI file from DV digital camcorder.
I want to use it in Virtual Dub. So I load it into
TMPGenc and save it as TMPG project.
Then I open this file with VFapi reader.
I can load the file (TMPG project file) there.
When I try to convert it and I hit the box saying "run" (= convert the file), the message quoted above pops up on the screen.
What other frame server could I use to be able to load the avi file into Virtual dub?
What I would Probably do is Make a VCD, OR ,You can try this Make a VCD but use Mpeg2 instead of Mpeg1, and use VCDEasy to burn it as a SVCD, I have done this Quite a Few times and Have achieved better Quality than If I used Mpeg1, But generally if you made a Low bitrate SVCD you would get too much Blockyness, so you would probably get better Quality going the VCD Route..I have Gotten an Hour or more on a Disk in SVCD and Have gotten Pretty Good Quality But that was useing CCE and useing 2 or more Passes...

I know that burning VCD's at higher speeds than 4 speed will almost definately cause problems with playback, it becomes unwatchable at the end on mine. But I was wondering, what about burning SVCD's at higher speeds, will this cause the same problem?
ok i took dvd decrypter ripped the vob files, used dvd2avi- used tmpeg, made a 3.7gig mpeg2 file which plays fine on the computer but when i burn the file to a dvd-r, it's choppy when i play the disc on my stand alone dvd players but the disc runs fine if i play it back on my computer.? can anybody tell me what im doing wrong or what the problem might be, cuz these dvd-r disc are not cheap!..... any help would be appreciated.....
Choppyness can be atributed to a Few things, depending on what type of choppyness it is, Firstly make sure that you encoded the File to the Correct Frame rate(29.97 For NTSC, 25fps for Pal)and make sure that you have the Correct Field order set when encodeing this can cause a Choppyness when the Camera Pans or things Moove, and Sometimes with Files encoded By Tmpgenc can have bitrate spikes were the Bitrate suddenly jumps too high for your Player to handle and this causes a Choppyness were the Video will seem to slow down then speed up and the audio stays the same but Can cut out at times, if this is the Problem you can usually tell by Running the File through a Bitrate Viewer and see if the Bitrate Jumps Past 9800kbs or Jumps from say 3000kbs to say 9000kbs really Quickly, this causes a Chopyness cuz the Disk can not speed up fast enough for the Player to read the Sudden Increased Data Rate..You should get a Few DVD-RW"s so you can do a Test burn without wasteing a Disk, and you can find DVD-R"s on ebay for adout 50 Cents to $1 if you buy a fifty or a Hundred at a Time....
A lot of the lately downloaded avi (divx) file give the message "... can not open or unsupported". I can not convert those files to svcd anymore. Who can help?
