I have tmpgenc express 4, I encode my videos en dvd standard mpeg file, all it is OK, but when try to create a DVD with 2 or more movie(Tmpgenc dvd autor 3), show an error:"could not open the video part of the file xxxxx(Path).. only the audio part can be opened", Help me please! I have installed windows vista businnes 64 bits, I need a codec?
In my case, I could correct this error by changing settings in DivX codec. I went to Start -> Programs -> DivX - DivX Codec -> Decoder Configuration Utility. Once there, in the "Decoder" tab I unchecked "Support decoding of generic MPEG4-Video" option. I guess this option makes DivX codec the default codec for any avi file. So if you are trying to open a xvid file maybe it fails.
Hope this can help.
its normally a case of conflicting codecs, if you have more than 1 codec package and im talking about the codec bundles such as klite etc, do a clean unsiatll of them all, reboot do a clean system with like tunup , and then install the 1 select codec pack, this shoudl then solve the issue.
also at times its may be becuase of VBR mp3 audio,if thi is the case, use nandub to load the file, and save both video as direct stream copy which will then save only the video, and save wav .
so then when you load the video into the dvd authoring software, you can then load the wav and go forward
i ve tried to use the program to Convert Mkv files to DVD but most of the times there were audio sync problems in the final DVD, or the playback was not at the appropriate speed (slower video.. audio normal)...
Can u pls make ur program to be more compatible with MKVs?
I have tried TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX® Authoring, realy stable program but there are some lacking features:
- It would save alot of time if this program could do batch jobs for encoding more than one file.
Request:
* Adding feature for doing multiple jobs at the same time
- When I want to make a DivX disc from the correctly encoded DivX files(from this program),instead of joinning these files together the program converts these files again. This way takes very lo....ng time to create the disc and the quality would be loss again after the disc created.
Can anyone help me with this problem. See below message sent to support. Still waiting to hear back from them so maybe somebody out there can help!
I'm designing DVD's for use in public booths and DVD release. Therefore i need to be able to create DVD menus that will display for 60seconds then autostart regardless if any interaction has taken place.
Is this possible?
Thanks, Matt
( PS sorry for double post. Messed up tittle 1st time round )
I'm afraid this isn't possible. You can only have the option to loop the playback of the actual clips. Once you go to a menu, it'll stay there until you choose something.
Your best option is to continually loop the video footage. Maybe you can have one tv showing the video footage and another showing the menu?
Or, if you can capture your menu as a video clip, you can then add it as another track in the loop.

TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring Hangs when trying to add clip. I have the latest version 3.1.1.174 installed on Vista ultimate. Everything was working great and then all of a sudden everytime I try and add and media clip it just hangs and stops responding. I have tried re-installing several times but to no avail. Anyone seen this???

Reading files into a new project at the source stage, those files encoded with TMPGEnc 4 into MP4 in either ISO or AVC have problems.
If the file is AVC, TMPGenc just sees color mass where video should exist.
If the file is ISO, TMPGEnc reports 30fps for a 24fps movie, and only have of the frames change. Every other frame is a duplicate.
When I capture movies from TV using Windows Media Center, some of the movies can be converted OK using TMPGEnc 4.0; however, movies I capture from AMC network will only convert the first few seconds, then stop. The movies play OK using Media Center, but will not play with any other software. How can I back up these movies?
i have downloaded k-lite codec to convert mkv file
but it seems tmpgenc can't decode the sound
when previewing, only get some terrible sound.
any solutions?
thanks
Ive also noticed with the last working version ot xpress ie 4.4.1.237 that with vbr mp3 the audio is simple un hearable it soudns liek a screach, i corrected this issue by using nandub to extract the mp3 into wav and then load the audio into the video file when in xpress and that worked.
After I convert any uncompressed avi to a mpeg. I get a bad line on the very bottom of the video, like static but only one line. And I've tried different videos to make sure it wasn't the source. Is there a setting I'm missing?
If some one can help me out that would be great, I need to get this video out.
the line is caused by changing the setting from interlaced to progressive. But my source files are not interlaced and/or do not use fields.
If I use interlace my video quality seems to get worse.
Auto-chaptering results in every chapter having duplicate names. These chapters cannot be recognized by the DivX player. When selecting any of the chapters the video returns to the beginning of the video.
I have written to technical support about my paid product two times now. I have waited 1.4-2 weeks each time for a response and received nothing except the automated confirmation that they received my support request.
What is up with these guys? I have made bugs reports, e-mailed support, posted in forums and I never get any response. Remind me again why anybody pays for their software when they fail to provide support?
Did you ever get an answer from tech support regarding your question? Seems odd that no one is responding. I am wondering if it is worth spending the money if no one answers your question. I have several associates that are looking at purchasing this program but we are very hesitant if we cannot get any response from the company.
