Question - Chapter Return to Menu No.69865

In a single Track, is it possible to force a return to menu after a chapter marker. I have combined several clips into one 'track' but want the chapter menu to appear after one of the clips has played.

tkrave  2015-08-05 11:20:01 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm assuming you meant to post this in the Authoring Works 5 forum?

You can set the chapter end action in the Menu Stage-->Global Menu Settings-->Chapter Display tab.
For each chapter, you can select whether to play the next chapter or go back to the menu.
Note that this option will only appear for DVDs; Blu-rays don't have this functionality I guess.

Question - Relocating an existing project's source files No.69817
jabs  2015-07-14 22:36:41 ( ID:d8snhnaxnsa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi.

I resurrected an old TVMW5 project. The original source files are now on a different drive. I'm using Windows 8.1.

How can I tell TVMW5 to look elsewhere to find the source files?

I have searched this forum and can't find the answer. Having trouble finding it on wider searches. I've also tried 'Project Checker Tool'; it lists the original path/filename, but doesn't allow any kind of redirection to a new location.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

tkrave  2015-07-15 10:16:56 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When you open the file, an error box should appear saying the source file is missing. Click on the "Browse..." button to select the new file path.

Question - unable to move to next chapter No.69809
buoyancy  2015-07-10 18:53:58 ( ID:ltjac.geoil )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hey guys, I ran into a problem when I try to move to next chapter with TMPGEnc's works 5.

I listed the video as 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-1, 2-2 and so on. But the " next" button failed to work every time I intended to move to different chapter (for example, 1-3 to 2-1).

I was wondering if there is a solution for that, or it is simply a bug with the software itself.

Thanks!

tkrave  2015-07-14 09:38:53 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What is your output format and what are you playing the video with?

Can VMW5 edit .GIF files?

tkrave  2015-07-15 10:26:23 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can import .gif files but if you mean animated gifs, then no, you won't be able to edit it like a video.

Free talk - Read BluRay disks with TVMW5? No.69755
rapeterson  2015-06-13 03:59:50 ( ID:aitjvxtmffr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have burned quite a few BluRay disks with TVMW5, authoring each with TAW5. ANd they have all played perfectly on BluRay players. Today, however, I tried to have TVMW5 input a file from a BluRay disk I burned recently(the disk plays perfectly in a Samsung desktop player) but all I get is an error message saying that"Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it is using a format that is not compatible with Windows". The system is Windows XP/service pack 3, 32 bit. Incidentally, I get the same error message hwn I attempt to use TAW5> I obviously have a BluRay burner in the system so cannot understand why I cannot read the very BluRay disks that I burn with Pegasus software. Is there a work around solution for this? If I upgrade to version 6 will that solve the problem?software..

rapeterson  2015-06-13 04:57:50 ( ID:aitjvxtmffr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Incidentally....BluRay disks burned using TVMW5/TAW5 cannot be opened with the latest VLC play. What goes. VLC says they don't recognize the format????

smartfinder77  Home )  2015-06-17 10:47:30 ( ID:sh0kljvo.p. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try burning Nero UDF ISO 2.5 for Bluray,
TAW5 burning short Lead-In and Lead-Out.

Actually, I originally used Nero 10 when I first got into Blu-Ray; but about a third of the disks would not play in some Blu-Ray players. The ones I have burned now with TAW5 have not had the problem and have worked in everyone's Blu-Ray players - so far anyway. Regardless, I'll give Nero another go at it. Thanks for the advice.

Question - iMovie No.69748
Dianne Lemke  2015-06-09 09:18:17 ( ID:sirfov4ktcr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I shot and then edited a series of HD videos in Edius. They are 1920X1080 29.97 fps, NTSC. My client wants to be able to edit in iMovie. I was wondering what format and specific settings you might recommend that would give her decent video quality.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

thanks

Question - TVMW6 only one frame rate conversion way? No.69695
greglip  2015-05-08 01:14:00 ( ID:kx6cvy6ojbk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is it possible with TVMW6 to encode 24fps stream to 25fps by speeding up the stream. Until now I used Grass Valley’s Procoder and all encoded videos are perfectly fluid without jerking every 24 frames. All modern TV sets as well as state of the art Splash player use amazing motion compensation function and unfortunately videos encoded by adding an extra doubled 25th frame looks awfully.

Thanks

George  2015-06-07 22:17:54 ( ID:4uslfllopul )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Unfortunately, frame rate conversion with TVMW5 and 6 sucks. Resulting video is extremely jerky. It seems not much has changed in version 6 in this area.

Hi, can anyone tell me if I can import TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5
project file into TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6

Thanks

George  2015-05-04 20:07:29 ( ID:lbmrula6qim )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes you can. The following message will come up: http://someimage.com/5dNPCL6

Haven't tried importing a project but I assume it'll work fine. If you have many and complex v5 projects, just install the fully working free v6 Trial, test it and let us know.

George  2015-05-04 20:08:47 ( ID:lbmrula6qim )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

(Oh, the spelling in that prompt... come on guys, fix it).

George  2015-05-04 20:14:24 ( ID:lbmrula6qim )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Also remember that v6 has removed a few features from v5 (check the product's webpage/details). If your project uses any of that, the conversion will obviously run into trouble.

I just noticed this in the US trial:
*H.264/MVC 3D data support limited to the left channel
What is the reason that there isn't H.264/MVC export along with the import?

Thanks

Question - .mp4 & .MKV files No.69659
rap2@email.com  2015-04-24 09:45:12 ( ID:plai4ldqlgf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

We have 4 Samsung tablets, including their new 10.5 inch model. None of the files generated by VMW5 in .mp4 or .MKV files will play on any of these tablets. When I contacted Samsung they state that any quality video editing tool files in either format will work on any of their tablets. Its interesting that .mp4 files I generate by an old, old version of 4Xpress will play on all of our tablets.

To do any commercial work today in the hugely expanding Tablet market absolutely requires .mp4 and .MKV files (among others). Pegasys can't be that out of touch not to support the tablet market -- or are they????

George  2015-04-28 06:14:22 ( ID:gizj1inbaql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Which output format do you select? Hardware compatibility greatly depends on that and the various settings concerned. I don't know your tablets (check their capabilities and format compatibility/restrictions) but try the MPEG-4 (AVC) file output. There is also the Mobile and portable device MPEG file output with several presets.

rap2  2015-04-30 03:37:22 ( ID:plai4ldqlgf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The ability to produce .mkv files for Samsung tablets is there, it's just buried in the .mpeg listing. Clicking on MKV files and then have the ability to choose methods is just (for some strange reason) not included. Using the "MKV choice" is simply confusing.

richard peterson  2016-09-11 07:32:27 ( ID:aitjvxtmffr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

To format a video for a Samsung Tablet (includes the 10,5 inc) use the following:

when ready to format Choose "mpeg file out put" (under generic formats), click on this and choose "output stream format" scroll down to mp4.
set the screen to 1920x1080, process the file and enjoy the HiDef screen.
On one of our Samsung 10.5 tablets I have a 256 gb memory card and have loaded 65 full length movies and 87 video sound clips. Works GREAT..

Question - TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6 No.69634

When can we expect the release of TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6, offically here?

George  2015-04-07 19:58:24 ( ID:qoo3ig.rvaj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have never seen an official reply here, unfortunately - only remember a single new product announcement. A pity because TMPGEnc are killer apps and deserve their proper user forums (every single piece of software seems to have theirs). These current boards are extremely limited and very unintuitive to use - the exact opposite of the TMPGEnc software. Come on Pegasys, make it happen. Wouldn't hurt if you hire an admin to give official replies, too.

rap2@email.com  2015-04-28 07:37:14 ( ID:plai4ldqlgf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

PROBLEM SOLVED: The method to produce .mkv files that will play on Samsung tablets is to NOT use the format labeled mkv period!!! When you're ready to format and are on the Output selection page choose "mpeg file output" then adjust stream type to mkv. It isn't readily apparent to get to the mkv solution but its there. The disappointing thing is that I emailed Pegasys twice and never received an intelligent answer. So much for 'Customer Care"....

$18 for those who bought v5 between December 2014 and May 2015. Those of us who have been using v5 since it came out pay $74! Don't think I'll be upgrading any more.

Is nothing special in this software, i have version 4 & 5 to me is just encoder nothing else.. No more supporting this company.. i bought vegas pro way better then this..
Too me no more good luck..

George  2015-05-02 02:36:38 ( ID:o5vrz/ceazn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's much more than an (excellent) encoder and you cannot compare it to Vegas which is way more expensive.

It's not based on loyalty.
The $18 upgrade is meant to take the sting out of purchasing a product that is becoming discontinued.
It also makes it easier for those who needed to buy a TMPGEnc encoder immediately even if they knew version 6 was coming soon.

If you've been using TVMW5 since it came out, then you got your money's worth IMO.
