TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
I upgraded to Windows 8 32 bit from Windows 7 64 bit and now when I try to convert a movie it starts the conversion process and runs for about 20 seconds and stops. Message reads "TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 has stopped working" then when I click on "check for a solution... it returns message "the connection with Video Mastering Works 5 has been severed.
It was working fine with Windows 7!
Your Windows 8 is in 32-bit or also in 64-bit?
Probably you need to install the compatible codecs or codec pack with your OS.
Also check their version is for 63-bit or 32-bit depending on your OS version.
Or uninstall all those codecs, reboot your PC and try again.
What is your source file format?
if for ex. is an AVI file
When there are issues with AVI format, its because of codecs used,
TMPGEnc software uses DirectShow codecs installed in your PC for reading
your .avi file so possibly the codec needed it is not selected or its
incorrect or not the suitable.
Or codecs used for reading/encoding your file are wrong, weird,
corrupted, incompatible or even broken.
Please try this:
- Go to....Options > Preferences > File input plug-in >
uncheck the AVI file reader and try in a new project, also
try by uncheck all except the DirectShow file reader
import your source file and try again.
or...
- Go to... Options > Preferences > File input plug-in
then uncheck the Media Foundation file reader only.
- import your source file and check.
I have a non anamorphic letter boxed video clip(4:3) which I want to scale up to an anamorphic 16:9 (still keeping it as a 4:3) and eliminate the black bars.
I normally use teh CROP filter and crop out the black bars whic seems to work well.
Using the PICTURE RESIZE filter seems to do the same job so which is best to use? or does it not matter as thelatter is used by default anyway.
At present I own VMW5 which I use via frameserving with Premiere Pro.
I was thinking about upgrading to H.264 plugin for Premiere.
What i like to know if the H.264 codec is the same for both programs or has the image quality been improved for the plugin.
I often find my 1080i/50 originated videos a bit too "soft" when converted to PAL DVD-compliant MPEG2 video (of course I understand it's been downscaled to 576 lines). I use Lanczos. Any other parameter I could adjust to achieve the sharpest possible result ?
My Mastering Works has stopped joining clips. Now, if I edit several clips together, and click "encode", the outputted result is several separate clips. Can someone tell me what I may have clicked to have caused this, and how I can revert to the normal output?
If it's encoded into the video, then the only way to get rid of it is to cover it up or blur it out. If you are putting the correct timestamp on it, you can cover it with a solid-colored rectangle and then put the correct timestamp over it. Or blur that area and then put the timestamp on top of that.
How to select all files at once in (timeline mode) that are in your timeline accros different layers?
Example:
if i delete a file from the time line there is a gap in the time line all files after the delete file need to be selected and move to the time where the file has been delete to get rid of the gap.
The way i do it now is hold CTRL and select every file that i want to move.
Is the also an other way? and is there a way so select al files at once?
Easiest way to get rid of gaps is to right-click on the layer header and select the "Bring all clips in this layer to the beginning" option. This will remove all gaps in the layer.
You can't select all clips across all layers, but you can use ctrl+A to select all clips in the selected layer.
Suddenly when I save a video it is saved with a long project name and creating a new sub-directory. What did I do to mess up the preferences? I've tried a number of settings with no success.
Ive run into a new problem with Mastering Works 5 that I never had before. I import mp4s that were exported with Adobe Media Encoder at 1920X1080/Main 4.1/11kbs VBR/Stereo 48khz. I use Mastering to bust these down 720X404/800mg streaming size. I've been doing this for years. Now though when I import an Adobe encoded clip it crashes the program. Any ideas why?
You should not even be thinking of Windows 10 yet.
Even though Microsoft keeps trying to push it down the throats of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 users, its far from ready for release.
Tons of bugs has been discovered inside Windows 10 that yet has to be fixed, mainly when it comes to multimedia. This means that video and audio editing software will not run smoothly under Windows 10 at all, but very unstable.
Stay away from Windows 10 for now if you actually want that system. Wait for them to have sorted it all out, so thjat it will be a 100% finished product you upgrade to.
