Question - Playing on Dvd Players No.59204
Willie Jones  2009-12-24 07:24:06 ( ID:s02hbpfwhso )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When I burn the output file to disk. It does NOT auto-play on my computer and I put a dvd into my home player and it rejected it. What I am doing Wrong. Help.

tkrave  2009-12-28 17:50:01 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The file outputted by 4.0 XPress is just DVD-compliant, and simply burning it to disc will not make it a DVD. DVD's require a specific file/directory structure. A burning program like Nero or TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 will allow you to burn a DVD in the proper DVD-Video format.

Question - Stuttering DivX audio on XBMC No.59202
phred  2009-12-23 09:46:39 ( ID:qbwa1.ok6dl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,
I'm using TMPG Express 4 for encoding movies to DivX-format for playing them on XBMC on my xbox. I just found out that the audio is scrambled (stuttering) when played.

Are there any settings that I can change to make the audio compatible with my XBMC?

TIA!
Fredrik, Sweden

Aurien  2010-01-10 21:35:21 ( ID:jxf/k3kpzra )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Depends on what your current settings are.
This link http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=XBMC_Features_and_Supported_Formats/Codecs#Supported_audio_codecs: shows what formats XBMC supports. Good starting point.

Question - HDTV.H264 conversion No.59201
Allectius  2009-12-21 06:00:04 ( ID:yzxz/ayy4ln )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have a question, maybe a stupid one, but I am trying to use TMPGE 4 ex to convert this type of file ... E56.091201.HDTV.H264.450p-Angel.avi to a DVD standard, for i do not have blueray disc player. These files will play on my computer, but 4 express just hangs up, forever if I let it. Is this conversion not possible? I am running Win XP SP2 , on an AMD Atholon 2800 2.08 Ghz, and 2 GB ram. I know its old , any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Bug report - TMPGEnc 4.0 Crashes on Windows 7 64bit No.59190
Dimitris Rizopoulos  2009-12-19 11:44:56 ( ID:roacvak6qqr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Dear sir, could you assist me please?

I have just installed windows 7 64-bit Ultimate.

I am trying to use my TMPGEnc 4.7.3.292.

After obtaining my license, just before the program starts I get the following consecutive errors:

Read error occurred at address 0BD9B805 of module 'UtilsCUDA.vme' with 00000000

Runtime error 204 at 0B842A2C
Runtime error 204 at 0B632A54

Runtime error 204 at 08982A7C
Runtime error 204 at 07972A18
Runtime error 204 at 07342A20

My computer is DELL XPS M1330 with NVIDIA 8400M GS, with latest drivers 195.62 (supporting CUDA 3.0)

Can you please check what is going wrong? Used to work ok with Vista 64bit and Windows 7 64bit with previous NVIDIA drivers...

go back to the previous drivr see if that sorts it out

Dimitris Rizopoulos  2009-12-21 11:18:54 ( ID:zd3zzzsltbn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, with version 186.81 there are no problems.

Can you please provide a patch to support the latest nvidia Windows 7 64bit drivers?

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-12-22 17:25:58 ( ID:k35eburmzjh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

simply means that youll have to wait untill next driver.

or give the driver makers a shout with the errors to let them know

Dimitris Rizopoulos  2009-12-22 20:37:20 ( ID:qckhyzivt6r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Excuse me? I should do what?

I am the CUSTOMER and I demand YOU get in touch with NVIDIA to inform them that TMPGEnc does NOT work anymore with their latest driver series (which they incorporate CUDA 3.0 technology).

Your answer was quite insulting...

Oops sorry, I thought I was talking to a Pegasys Support Rep. Did not realize that another user was answering my bug report...

This forum is just users helping users; you won't get an official support response here. You need to use their support form to get in contact with a real support rep:
http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/support/support.html

If I recall correctly, there's a problem with 4.0 XPress working with CUDA driver version 195. I think they'll recommend going with version 191 or earlier until a fix is released.

Stan  2010-01-12 20:51:46 ( ID:db3l2upx8kl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It happens to me as well. It is definitely caused by the new nVidia drivers. I've logged a bug report with the Technical Support. It's a bit odd that this new version they released yesterday didn't fix it yet. I was hoping it would.

Mathew Lisett  Home )  2010-01-13 14:41:31 ( ID:/mc2urzlila )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Dimitris Rizopoulos

well wholly crap.

even if i was from tmpgenc i can assure you that attitude and demanding them to sort it out, gets cusotmers naff all.

and from my experince with my clients and friends, those runtime errors happen when a kegen is used and is not a current one, when this is done and the user goes to open the software the message comes up, and at times the licence details come up.

how ever I am not in anyway statign this is the same case for you.

Stan  2010-01-13 20:12:59 ( ID:db3l2upx8kl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok, people, I've got a response from Pegasys by saying that their current TMPGEnc Xpress application is not compatible with the newest release of nVidia drivers (i.e. 195), because nVidia introduced a new version of CUDA (i.e. 3.0). People have only two options. They can either downgrade to the 191 version of nVidia drivers if they use CUDA capability or disable UtilsCUDA file in TMPGCEnc Xpress folder by renaming it.
I'm surprised though how Pegasys is so slow in updating their SW to follow CUDA evolution. nVidia announced the new version and released the development tools for a long time (at least since the middle of last year) and Pegasys didn't bother to update their SW to match it. Very sloppy, I must say.

Neouni  2010-01-27 18:26:20 ( ID:1nftjdpoalk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

you seem to be able to enable CUDA 2.0

and the 'use CUDA for filtering'

but 'use the hardware video decoder' will give problems when your driver is CUDA 3.0 and will crash the client with the known utilsCUDA.vme 00000000

Question - Xpress 4 hangs after validation and during initializing No.59187
Modify_inc  2009-12-17 16:18:13 ( ID:qx/gkg9vypa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've been using TMPGEnc XPress 4 for a while and the other day I noticed it was not working corretly. It loads up, verifies user and licenses, and then says initializing and hangs there forever. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled and samething. I tried using a eariler version and it runs, but I get runtime errors and other odd errors. My Vista system is update with all software updates and virus free. I'm at a lost to what could be causing it. Is there not a log that Xpress generates that might give me some clue?

Question - TMPGenc Xpress 4.7.3.292 >> AVI to WMV out sinc audio No.59185
Zipperzoi  2009-12-17 14:27:42 ( ID:shiicvlgnol )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Why an AVI-DV video captured directly from DV tape the WMV encoding the audio is perfectly in sync!
And a DV-AVI video render from Adobe Premiere CS4 the WMV encoding the audio is out of sync?
I use 64bit and the W7 TMPGEnc Xpress 4.7.3.292!

Thank you.

zipperzoi  2009-12-26 16:02:42 ( ID:jblk5oe5dy. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I solved the problem of audio sync with windows media encoding (wmv) with TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress Version 4.7.3.292 on Windows 7 64-bit, I uninstalled it and installed the TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress Version 4.7.1.284, the problem of sync audio resolved.

Question - Impoert Problems With High Def VC-1 Files Win 7 No.59181
Gene  2009-12-17 05:43:00 ( ID:6akalx7zton )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

4.7.3.292 on an XP machine will import (1920 x 1090P) VC-1 files but not on my Windows 7 machine TMPGEnc Xpress just freezes on import. Any ideas? A decoder?

tkrave  2009-12-17 18:06:28 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yeah, there's probably a codec or something on your XP machine that isn't on your Windows 7 machine.

Gene  2009-12-17 20:03:01 ( ID:6akalx7zton )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Any idea on the appropriate codec or how I can figure out which one is being used?

tkrave  2009-12-18 01:45:50 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try a program like GSpot to figure out the codec.

Question - Cuda Not Working - Win7 GTX 260 No.59178
DivideByZero  2009-12-13 00:12:01 ( ID:qr4vmklwwlj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I recently upgraded my computer to 64 Bit Win7 with a GTX260 video card. Since the upgrade I have not been able to get any Cuda encoding to function. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, different codecs, reinitializing, latest NVidia Drivers...nothing work. I have tested my machine with LoiLoScope and Cuda works, but it does not work in TmPG Express. Another side note is that Divx crashes the application (versions 5,6,and7).

Does anyone have any suggestions...I am truly bummed since I bought the machine for video editing.

I have included the event log entry for the Divx crash below.

4.7.3.292 is the latest, get it and see if that fixes the issues

tkrave  2009-12-18 01:42:13 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Besides updating to the latest version of 4.0 XPress, you might also want to try reverting your CUDA driver to version 191.

uwess  2009-12-10 10:57:39 ( ID:rdoemj37aqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

I installed the Software a few weeks ago and it worked fine. Last Saturday I had to restore an image from August. I reinstalled the Software and now the Software doesn't start.

After a few seconds the message appears (Translated to English):

EAccessViolation at Modul TMPEnc4XP.exe / 62BCAE79
ReadError at Adress 62BCBE79 appears at 62BCBE79

I click on ok and get the message:

Runtime error 204 at 06632A64

I click on ok and get the message:

Runtime error 204 at 00402B1C

Than nothing happens.

I reinstalled the software without success.

What can I do?

With kind regards,
Uwe Sentis

i would say its either your master hard drive is dying, or you need to do a fresh install of your os

mevans336  2009-12-16 20:52:38 ( ID:6sjyutuxenk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am also getting this error. I also used all previous versions with no issue but reinstalled Windows 7 a couple of months ago. I installed the latest 4.7.3.292 and I'm also seeing the error. It's a problem with TMPGEnc Xpress, not our hardware and I haven't had any other programs crash on this machine, ever.

You can see the error here: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_JyLRK0gxVFI/SylIAd_4wEI/AAAAAAAAACE/I_LuJ-jT3SY/s800/Capture.JPG

After clicking ok to clear the error, I get several runtime 204 errors.

mevans336  2009-12-16 21:23:04 ( ID:6sjyutuxenk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I tried 4.7.1.282 and I received the same crash, but version 4.6.3.268 works perfectly fine.

mevans336  2009-12-17 16:42:27 ( ID:6sjyutuxenk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I uninstalled TMPGEnc, deleted the "\Documents and Settings\(user name)\My documents\TMPGEnc\TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress" folder and then uninstalled Quicktime at the request of a TMPGEnc Support Engineer. I then reinstalled the latest TMPGEnc 4.0 (4.7.292) and it opened successfully. I haven't tried to reinstall Quicktime and frankly, don't need it yet so I'm not sure if reinstalling it will bring the error back. Hope this helps.

Modify_inc  2009-12-17 17:44:54 ( ID:qx/gkg9vypa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I had the same problem was about to reinstall Vista because I couldn't figure it out. I uninstalled quicktime, and bam it works again. That is to weird...

And the worst part after it started up it gave me a message that to import quicktime files I need to install Quicktime. Go figure.

Question - Prepare videos on TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, to be used on Authoring Works 4 ? No.59165
ReinaldoGarcia  2009-12-08 23:49:50 ( ID:ionnbd/9ffa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Dear,

I am wondering what is the best way to have all conversion using 4.0 XPress to MPEG (DVD 4.7 WIDE Standard)so when I import the video to Authoring Works 4 it would NOT recode the file , meaning lossing quality.

Basic , i don´t want to loose quality recoding twice. Whats the best way to impor the videos for Author Works 4 so the video complain with all specs for Standard DVD.

Thanks

Reinaldo

africanmarty  2009-12-09 22:36:36 ( ID:dfditwmikpk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i do this too for DVD and bluray, this way i know the files will be complient. If you are making a DVD use the 'DVD standard mpeg file' set your settings appropriate to your video and have the video bitrate 9200 kb/s (max video bitrate tmpgenc4 express offers) and you will be fine and authoring works wonr re-encode the file.

ReinaldoGarcia  2009-12-10 23:14:42 ( ID:ionnbd/9ffa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello Friend,
Yes i did that, but i have a feeling that is recoding again. There is a option on Authr.Works on GENERAL -> Genereal Track Settings -> DO NOT ADJUST THIS TRACK SIZE. There is not much info ont he help, but i believe is the one to turn OFF the recode of Mpeg Files. What do you think?

I use DVD standard MPEG file, the only difference i set a bitrate of 4500 VBR, because i need to include at least 1 hour and 30 min of video on a DVD5.

Reinaldo

tkrave  2009-12-11 18:08:15 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

In Authoring Works 4, does the clip have the Full Rendering icon (red FR) or the Smart Rendering icon (blue SR) in the Source stage? If it's marked as Smart Rendering then you don't need to worry.
What makes you think it's re-encoding anyway?

Question - MKV encode stuttering issue No.59164
CasanovaFly  2009-12-06 03:01:30 ( ID:xwwfkq7hp8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've been encoding a few MKV files to WMV-HD with Xpress, and 90% of the time they encode perfectly. However, every so often I come across the odd MKV file that encodes fine, but the last 20 minutes or so of the movie (sometimes longer) begins stuttering. The audio is fine, but the video stutters ever so slightly. It's faint, but enough to make you slightly woozy if you're watching it. And I have NO idea what's causing it. The MKV, if played by itself, doesn't pose the same issue, and when I use Handbrake to convert it to mp4 it also plays fine. However, if I convert that mp4 to WMV-HD, I get the same problem. I don't think I have any codec issues. I only have DivX 7 Pro and XviD installed, and use DivX for my HD encoding. I used to have K-Lite before I reformatted my computer, but chose to leave it off to avoid any possible conflicts. I can't imagine what the problem is, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Bug report - When program starts Windows 7 color changes No.59161
srousset  2009-12-06 02:57:41 ( ID:z24pjjzwmjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just installed Xpress 4.7.3.292 in Windows 7 and when it starts my whole screen turns to 16 colors, but Xpress starts up. Once started (and barely readable), however, I can not add an input file by either drop-and-drag or using the "add file" button. I used the trial version previously on XP and really liked it, but after buying this for Win 7, I am having significant problems even getting started.

CasanovaFly  2009-12-06 03:04:46 ( ID:xwwfkq7hp8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Have you tried right-clicking on the .exe file in your program files folder, going to properties and using the Compability Wizard (compatability tab)? I don't have Windows 7, but I imagine the Comp. Wizard would still be kicking around. I had a problem with 4.7.3.292 on Vista, and used this. I set it to run for XP Service Pack 2 and it works, but whenever it's open it turns off Aero, though that's a small price to pay.

To recap: right click on .exe file in program files, go to Properties, Compatability tab, check the Compatability mode box and run it for XP (if this still applies in Windows 7).

Hope this helps.
