Hi Guys, does anyone know of a program that will convert the DVD Folders back to MPEG's?

Minion  2003-02-21 04:28:42 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What type of Mpeg??? Meaning a Just a Mpeg file of the Vob Files in the Video-TS Folder?? Or do you want a Mpeg file that You can Burn as a VCD or SVCD??? If you want to make a VCD/SVCD you can use a program called DVD2AVI to Frame serve the Vob files to Tmpgenc and it will extract the audio track of your Choice that you encode in Tmpgenc and in the end you will have a VCD or SVCD..Go to "http://www.dvdrhelp.com" and there will be a bunch of Step By step Tutorials to show you how to do it....

AdonisXX  2003-02-21 04:48:48 ( ID:zeigjxkxgfr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks Minion for your reply back! yes just the mpeg of the vob files in the video ts folder.

Thanks again!

There are many programs which can do this. If the DVD is encrypted then most rippers can rip the VOBS to one VOB then just demux with TMPG.
If the VOBs are already decrypted to your hard drive then you can use VOBedit or VOBsnoopy to convert the VOBs to an M2v file.

Question - frame serve for tmpgenc No.34717
george_zhu  2003-02-20 21:29:07 ( ID:hz6rjbhkmfo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I tried to use virtualDub to frameserve Tmpgenc Plus. I installed the readAVS to tmpgenc. And follow the instruction of it. But tmpgenc will not read it. Just say "not supported". The readme in readavs said it was tested in win98. I use win2000. Is that the problem?

How can I I frameserve the tmpgenc?

If Raiseing the "Direct show" Didn"t help then make sure you have the Proper codec installed and if you do have the proper codec then Maybe re-install the codec and if that doesn"t work see if you can open the avi file in Virtual Dub and if you can then try frame serveing the file with V-Dub and if V-Dub will not open the file then there is something wrong with the File....

Minion  2003-02-21 04:19:03 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

DONT INSTALL ANGEL POTION!!!!!! It is a Hacked Codec that can Cause Major Problems when Running Tmpgenc, Your files can end up with a Purple and Pink Picture, and If you have Madia Player 9 then that is Your Problem ,,,,

Ashy  2003-02-21 11:48:43 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I agree with Minion don't install that crap on your PC unless you like pink blotches on your movies. Your problem is Mediaplayer 9. Roll back your system with system restore.

DIVX 3.11 or MPEG4 v3 should be able to decode this AVI, but you may need to convert it first with this program.

mandrews  2003-02-20 16:30:29 ( ID:onjqzngabmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

1) under win xp sp1, merge cut function under 2.510 is broken. time slider cannot be moved at all, setting start and end times does not work

2)batch encode - tmpgenc quits after encoding 1 or 2 files in a batch encode list of multiple files under win xp

Minion  2003-02-20 22:01:02 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This Has Nothing to Do with XP or SP1 Cuz I run XP with SP1 and the merge & Cut works fine..If you are trying to open Mpeg 2 files in the Merge & Cut then you need to have the proper Mpeg2 decoder installed or you will not have an image in the Editing window and not be able to edit the File....

Question - Can`t open MPEG2 for merge/cut No.34697
Uri Siman  2003-02-20 14:26:55 ( ID:gnafo7mrrkn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I was created MPEG2 (SVCD stream) file by TMPGEnc.
Then I tried merge/cut this file but can't opened...
TMPGEnc view screen: "Couldnot initialize DirectShow filter".
More early it was fixed and I has no this problem.
Now I has this message on other my computer too...
What can I do??? How fixed it?

Neouni  2003-02-20 18:47:39 ( ID:ulvkqnml11k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i got the same problem with the merge and cut tools

but for Winxp SP1, i got a problem running TMPGEnc 2.59 & 2.510 cause they both break MPEG files, some identifiers can read the header correctly, but the data can't be used by TMPGEnc & can't be read by the default windows media player 9

codec problems in Winxp ?

2.53 works perfectly under XP, i couldn't find any other versions to try out yet

Ashy  2003-02-20 21:05:13 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Oh dear seems like you have installed that crap Media player 9. Tut tut, you'll have to restore your sytem I'm afraid. Media player 9 is causing many a problem like this.

Bug report - TMPGEnc - MPEG Tools No.34690
DaveBM  2003-02-20 13:10:11 ( ID:vjlnsu4p3/w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi

TMPGEnc Version 2.02.31.119, Core 1.80.116

Here is what I am doing ... my Apex 500b will not play MP3s, so I am encoding them as MPEG-1 VideoCD (non-standard), this way they will play when I create a VCD thru Nero and I am able to put a lot of files on 1 CDR.

Now, I start TMPGEnc and select MPEG Tools, select MULTIPLEX, select MPEG-1 VideoCD (non-standard) in the drop down list, then click the ADD button to add my MP3. I was able to process one MP3 to MPG this way. I cleared the list and clicked the ADD button to add another MP3 to process but it will not show up in the list. I have rebooted my system, and open TMPGEnc again and tried to ADD the MP3 again and it will not show up in the list. I have tried the same MP3 that I already processed but it will not show up in the list too. So I am at a stand-still as to why.

Has anyone out there run into the same problem ? Does anyone out there have a solution to this, it would be greatly appreciated or if you have another way of doing this, I would love to hear it, thanks

Dave

Neouni  2003-02-20 18:51:08 ( ID:ulvkqnml11k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i don't think the multiplex tool is intended for conversion

it's intended to combine diferent MPEG file with the same width, hight and fps

files can be combined with diferent bitrates but will come out as a VBR

Ashy  2003-02-20 21:12:53 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What the hell r u trying to do??!!
Convert an mp3 to a compatible Mpeg1 file using the multiplexer.
Sorry but this can't be done.
All you have done is given your Mp3 file an MPEG1 header and changed it's extension.
It's still won't play in any DVD player.

You cannot do it this way but I can tell you a method you can use which will allow you to fit 8-10 albums in mp2 format on one disk and will play on your player.

Hi Ashy

Sure, go ahead and let me know you method of creating a playable MP3 cd. I'm always willing to learn new ideas.

And my way did work. I cut a CD and tested it on my machine with Nero, worked fine. Press the corresponding # for the song and away it played.

TIA
Dave

Vey strange machine that APEX. I think your method works partly because of the APEX's ability to play raw MPEG. I have tried this method with a few other machines and it doesn't work. I know that those disks won't be accepted in most other players, but this other method will.
I need to send you the Templates for it so I need your email.

Question - Frame Rate AVI->MP1 Problem, Result Much Shorter Then Original No.34688
©Bubba_Gump  2003-02-20 10:25:15 ( ID:ropdtylomfm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi All,

Really hope this isn't covered on the forum elsewhere...I have converted painfully low framerate .rm files to uncompressed AVI's and now am trying them to get them to go AVI2MP1 with TMPG. Problem is the original video and audio is one length, but in the rate conversion (using NTSC DVD settings), the video files are turninng up shorter (about 40% shorter - no missing frames, just total video track length is shorter because of framerate process???). This, of course, is making the A/V out of synch.

Specifics:
.RM (5fps RGB 152x96) to AVI (5fps Main Concept DV *resized in a 4-sided letterbox to 720x480)
real audio to WAV [TINRa & AVI2WAV] (Resampled to 41khz, 16-bit)

AVI conversion in TMPG (NTSC DVD 29.97fps 720x480 CG:80, VBR 8kbps max.)
the average length change is about 60% of the origianl AVI after the conversion.

I am processing the Video seperate from the audio track. I use BeSweet to convert WAV2AC3 (no change in length). Should I use CBR, or keep the WAV and MP1 stream together and out to a MPG? Any suggestions, or obvious reasons for why the resulting MP1's are coming up so short? Maybe do a framerate conversion with AVISynth first...just trying to keep the steps to as few as possible as I have about 20 of these 3 hour RM streams to convert to DVD.

Thanks in advance for any help,
©The Gump

Tmpgenc will not Do a Proper Frame Rate conversion ...If you can use something like AVISynth yo convert the frame rate...
