Question - Video.SourceRange.* ? No.32127
Petri Ojala  2002-12-19 13:30:53 ( ID:ddxflke7rv6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

We would like to control the way how TMPGEnc(+) reads jpeg still images into the mpeg2-video. Is there any documentation available how to use the various Video.SourceFile and Video.SourceRange.* options in the text .tbe and .tpr files?

Basicly we want to duplicate each still image for n frames without duplicating the actual files.

Are there any further documentation available about the .tbe and .tpr file formats (in text)?

Petri

"Basicly we want to duplicate each still image for n frames without duplicating the actual files"

You don"t need to duplicate the files Just load the same file in as Many times as You need....

What kind of file are you trying to load into MPEG Tools and do you have the proper plugins loaded for that file?

Seasons Greetings.

Question - No Sound No.32118
Arne  2002-12-19 10:14:48 ( ID:f3gn4if3xaj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I converted an avi into mpeg and the quality is great, but there is no sound. Does it have anything to do with that I cut the avi in half which I had to do due to the size of the avi? Or is there an other problem? I'm quite new with the program so I might have chosen the wrong sttings.

helen  2002-12-19 13:11:12 ( ID:4bbk5n9bato )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i have the same problem, when i split mpeg videos, theres no sound! i dont get it!

Minion  2002-12-19 22:32:16 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If there is Sound in the AVI file But no audio in the Mpeg file then you probably need to Extract the audio to a WAV file with something like "Virtual Dub" or "AVI-Mux" and use the WAV file as the audio source...

Arne  2002-12-20 12:55:24 ( ID:f3gn4if3xaj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

But how does that work. Do i get an wav file which i have to burn on the vcd?

So I guess that you are trying to Make a DVD, But You don"t know how to Turn the Mpeg2 file into a VOB file???Well You don"t turn the Mpeg file into a Vob file, the authoring program does that...You need a DVD Authoring program and it will Format the Mpeg2 file to the Correct format for a DVD and burn it for you to DVD ....

Make sure you have the right Codecs and try going to "options" to "Enviromental Settings" to "Vfapi Plugins" and raise the "Direct Show" to "2"..........

Minion  2002-12-19 07:55:39 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Usually If you get this error in the same spot every time then There is Something wrong with the file,You can try encodeing up to were you get the error then use the source range to start encodeing a few frames after were you got the error the after you can join the 2 files with the Merge & Cut...If this file is a Low resolution VCD/Mpeg1 file and you are encodeing it to mpeg2 to make a DVD The Quality will Not be nearly as good in DVD format especially if you up size the resolution to 720+480/576,........

zameis  2002-12-19 11:40:48 ( ID:egxftwr3fzh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am getting the message when load the file, I don't get a chance to encode it at all. I've tried the mpeg-corrector but recieved the same problem.

Minion  2002-12-19 22:24:22 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well that is strange ,I have only ever gotten that error while encodeing..Well then there is definately something wrong with the file...Since it is a Mpeg1 file you can try to see if Virtual Dub will Load the file then try to frame serve the file to Tmpgenc, But if Virtual Dub has problems with the file then there is definately something wrong with the file..If it is a Downloaded Mpeg1 file that then it is Probably corrupted..Very few of the Mpeg files I have downloaded have ever Been NOT Corrupted.....

Question - SVCD? No.32101
Sakuya  Home )  2002-12-19 04:31:21 ( ID:ma8lfwhzhl2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, I am a newbie at encoding using TMPGEnc. I decided to turn an AVI file to an MPEG file in order to burn it onto an SVCD to watch on TV. Since it's my first time making an SVCD, I'm unfamiliar with all the options. When making VCD, I noticed the size of the file is 352x240. When converting the AVI file right now, I noticed that it's 480x480. I'm wondering if that will fit on my TV screen?

Minion  2002-12-19 22:19:20 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

480+480 Is the Standard SVCD Ntsc Resolution so of course it is going to fit..your DVD Players Scales the picture to fit the screen....
