Question - Blank screen appears at the end of encoded file No.31399
philip  2002-12-01 19:42:05 ( ID:pjldngw8akm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am using TMPGEnc 2.59 to encode my avi files to vcd format.

At the end of every file their is blank video. But the audio
continues with out problem till end.

My video in put frame rate is different than the vcd format.

pls advise

Minion  2002-12-01 22:09:28 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well the Frame rate wouldn"t cause this, But even if it did work haveing the frame rates being different will cause the Movie to play back really jumpy and will be allmost un watchable, So encode to the correct frame rate to avoid this..To stop the Movie from turning blank at the end then try raiseing the "Direct show File reader" in the "Vfapi Plugins"....

hi....
every time i try to cut the second 45 mins of this movie, it says;

''illegal mpeg video stream''

and thats that, so i cant cut this film?

thank you

dave...

joe  2002-12-01 16:17:59 ( ID:hh1ztbmnjt2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Not a solution, but in case you were thinking the message meant "illegal" as in "against the law", that's not what it's telling you. The format of the stream is just not something it recognizes.

Nai  2002-12-05 08:27:26 ( ID:nxjofu2v2io )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Illegal says you have cut the movie on a point you should not do. For combining movie segments you must keep the structure of B,I and P frames through the whole movie. You have cut it on a correct frame, but the complete structure is not complete anymore. Thats the reason because it is very difficult to cut movies under MPEG2 compression.

ASHY  2002-12-01 17:37:40 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

2.57 is buggy. Use an earlier version or 2.58

Question - can't chareduce size of the vcd No.31392
Tanevski  2002-12-01 15:16:10 ( ID:2lujgmbpnl. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i have tried to change the bitrate to reduce the size of the vcd file. I am doing the following:
1.Open the avi file
2.load vcd pal template
3.load unlock in extras
4.change bitrate to 1000 kbps
5.encode 2 minutes sample vcdm and the size remains the same as if i use 1150 kbps HELP!!!

ASHY  2002-12-01 17:38:58 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You need to change the stream setting to 'Non standard VCD'
This doesn't work in v2.59 so use an earlier version.

Question - Wizard folder missing No.31390
Tanevski  2002-12-01 15:11:18 ( ID:2lujgmbpnl. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Please explain me where to find wizard folder. I have tried in template folder, but it isn't there.

ASHY  2002-12-01 17:43:33 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There is no wizard folder any more. What r u attempting to do? Create your own wizard template?

If so just save the template in the template folder and it will be shown in the wizard under 'Other'

Can not encode Audio in Tmpg Enc, the Audiofile is in a Xvid avifile, the Video source works fine but i get "can not open, unsupported" when i try the Audio source.
In Panasonic enc it works fine whith Avi and Audio, but not so good quality as the Tmpg Enc.
Is there any other solutions than convert the Audio to Wave?

Peek

Bug report - Adaptec VideOH File Conversion No.31387
scrooks  2002-12-01 03:52:20 ( ID:ygt8nzehpln )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm using TMPGEnc Version 2.59.47.155 Core version 1.92.142 on a 512 MB Windows 2000 AMD 1GHz PC.

When I try to load in a file generated from my Adaptec VideOH DVD box, which is supposed to be in MPEG2 format, I get the following error:

----
The exception Floating-point invalid operation.
(0xc0000090) occurred in the application at location 0x03875dd9
----

I can successfully load in this file into other video programs and it plays fine. Any ideas what the problem might be? Anything you want me to try? Any more information you need?

Question - avi cannot be displayed or unsupported No.31385
Anil  2002-12-01 00:49:26 ( ID:ogcaiavb45l )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Whenever I try opening a file to encode it there is an error message. Saying that the avi cannot be played or unsupported. I have already tried raising the priority of the Direct show file reader.

KJGreene  2002-11-30 19:50:03 ( ID:ta8ih2kx64g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After converting from divx to mpeg-2 I get no sound. The video works in dvd player but i get no sound. Can anyone help ?

Minion  2002-11-30 22:39:22 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You need to extract the audio from the source file to a WAV file with something like "Virtual Dub" then use the WAV file as the audio source...

Question - mpg files size too big No.31378
Greg  2002-11-30 19:12:25 ( ID:anoz9rmzeel )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hey guys. I have an avi file (712mb) that I'm trying to convert to an mpg but the estimated file size is huge (over 1400mb). I attempted to convert it anyways, but the actual output file would have been this big. Why is this? Is there any way to lower it without losing significant quality? For some reason, this only occurs with a small number of avis that I have tried.

Thanks for the help.

ASHY  2002-11-30 19:38:10 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It doesn't matter one tiny bit what size your AVI is, what DOES matter is the length. MPEG1 VCD encodes at a rate of 10MB a minute, simply multiply that by the length of your AVI and you will have your final size.

You don't have a problem anyway because your file will split between 2 disks which is what you should always do for a regular sized movie otherwise the quality will be absolutely cr.a.a.a.a.p.

That sounds about right, MPG files are considerably larger than AVI files. Once the MPEG has been created you can then easily split it onto 2 disks using TMPGEncs Mpeg Tools (File>Mpeg Tools>Merge & Cut). The majority of films will need to split onto 2 disks.

or you try vbr instead of cbr.... (so you can choose a different bitrate)

it works fine with dvd players, but not in vcd players
just set to non-standard vcd

and you can fit a movie on a single cd-r

but don't lower the bitrates too much
if a movie has 2 hours than you shgould decide for 2 cds
maybe with higher bitrates

take a look at www.vcdhelp.com
