Bug report - audio not in sync after mpeg encoding No.18853
Mario  2002-04-13 10:12:05 ( ID:czeod1ynfxm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After encoding an DV avi file to SVCD Pal (VBR 1600 kbps) I found that the audio is not in sync any more with the video. I have checked this with the original file on the pc and also by play the mpeg file with WinDVD and by burning this to an SVCD using nero.

Can some advise on this issue?

Techno  Home )  2002-04-13 10:18:41 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

make sure the audio is 44100Hz.

Try extracting the wav in virtualdub and loading this and a video and encode in TMPGENC.

let us know what happens.

I have been having the same problem. I capture a 30 min SVCD MPEG2 with WinTVPVR, and it is in sync when played back. In order for me to burn to a SVCD i have to Simple Multiplex the SVCD file with TMPENC, after this is done the Audio gets progressively more out of sync until the end. (It seems like its in sync at the beginning, but not even close about 10-20 min into the file)

Techno  Home )  2002-04-13 19:25:29 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

do not capture and compress at the same time. use these settings:

NO RECOMPRESSION
YU12
CD quality audio
320*240
25*30fps

then encode to VCD/SVCD, it will encode fast and perfectly

It will take up alot of space on the hdd when capturing, but the quality is worth it, guarenteed.

Bug report - hard disk full No.18851
John Asbacher  2002-04-13 07:56:00 ( ID:w29btrivx/m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am using the demo version of tmpgenc and I don't know if this is a bug or a feature request.

My drive that the output file was being pointed to was close to full. When tmpenc filled the drive it said "error" but not very explanitory.

It would be nicer if before creating the mpeg2 stream that it did a rough estimation of the size needed on the drive and report back to the user if there isn't enough space, or a warning at least.

thats all

Techno  Home )  2002-04-13 10:05:24 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Actually, when you use the wizard to create MPEG's, it gives you an estimate on the final file size.

Techno  Home )  2002-04-13 09:29:12 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It is in ALL Windows OS's! :) What error messages are you getting?

Try updating the DIRECTX driver from Microsoft.

Question - Template question - Video arrage method No.18845
athex  2002-04-13 03:12:17 ( ID:ochojnzavea )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am looking to create a template that correctly sets the size of the SVCD output for my DVDplayer/TV combo and found I needed to change the option: video arrage method under the advanced tab to correctly change the size of the video and still keep it in mpeg2 format. Unfortunately the template save function doesn't save this setting, and I am wondering what I need to set in the template to correctly save this setting in it for future use, as it is quite a pain to change it every time.

Techno  Home )  2002-04-13 09:28:38 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It should save it.

What messages are you getting?

Techno

athex  2002-04-13 15:34:04 ( ID:ochojnzavea )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well, it saves the template, just not the setting for video arrange method/size of the video arrage setting. I get no errors and it saves nearly every other setting. I can only assume it isn't built to save that setting and you have to manually enter it in the template

Techno  Home )  2002-04-13 09:27:57 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The frame in the m2v or video/audio may be corrupted. Try checking it through with another software

tried to convert an avi-file to mpeg1. Seems the programm works, but there´s no preview, the screen is blank (dark). preview option is on "thinned". Version TMPEG 2.53. Who can help me ?

Techno  Home )  2002-04-13 09:27:02 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

if it is a DIVX 5 video, it is not supported

uninstall DIVX v5 and install v 4.12, then encode/preview, it should work

After converting the .avi file to .mpg the audio works fine but the video doesn't show up. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Thanks

If it is DIVX 5, it is not supported

uninstall the DIVX 5 codec, install DIVX v4.11 or v4.12 and encode.

it should work now

Question - Merge & Cut does not work No.18835
toaddawet  2002-04-13 00:51:35 ( ID:a.e66vnr9.f )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I found TMPGEnc about a month ago, and was really happy to finally find a free program that can edit MPEG files. The Merge & Cut part was awesome-but it has ceased to work. I began to notice that the start & end points I set were NOT the ones that I ended up with when the clip was processed. This has gotten noticeably worse recently, but it is not my computer-I installed it on another PC and had the same problem. It now is SEVERAL seconds difference between where I set the start & endpoints and where they actually are. Can anyone help? I am really upset about this-I have a video project that is due tonight, and TMPGEnc has fallen apart right when I needed it. Any help is appreciated.

sherlock  2002-04-13 21:15:40 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

the "cut" feature in "tmpgenc" sucks and I can"t find another mpeg cutting program that is free.so what i do is either cut my avi. files into 40min parts then encode them,or use the "source range" feature in the "advanced settings" that lets you encode the part of the movie that you wan"t,but I have had sync problems with it to...........

Question - Merging MPEGs No.18833
Tyrane  2002-04-12 23:27:03 ( ID:.ewsiopv1ac )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm converting the Lord of the Rings DivX to VCD and encountering problems.. There are two files and converting them to .mpg was easy. However, now I've tried to merge them and the audio just cuts out after a while - approximately 29:45 into the first file til the end of the first file and then likewise for the second file. So, I have this 2 hour some file that looks great, but I only have audio for a half of an hour in the beginning and and half of an hour in the middle. Anyone know the problem? Is it the codec? I truly don't know and would like to fix the problem

Thanks

Tyrane  2002-04-12 23:29:09 ( ID:.ewsiopv1ac )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Oh - and I forgot to add....the two mpegs I used have the audio intact separately...

When I convert ASF to MPEG(1) there is no audio in the MPEG(1) version of the movie. Could someone please tell me what I have to do?

jl3838  2002-04-12 23:38:32 ( ID:turrszlrevw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I use VirtualDub 1.3C to extract the audio to a wav file and use it when doing the conversion with TMPGEnc.

Question - encoding SVCD w ver2.53 No.18826
fpill  2002-04-12 18:02:41 ( ID:kq.kdl11acj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I know this is a vague question, but I'll give all the details I can. I tried to encode a SVCD from a .d2v project(video) and an .wav(audio) from DVD2avi. I used TMPGE 2.53. When I ran it the process started, then an error box poped up and said the file for the SVCD could not be created. There was no information as to why it could not be created. I followed the wizard and a guide from VCDhelp. If any one knows some secret or a good guide for TMPGE please let me know.
Thank you
