Differents in GOP-setting between old Tempgenc version 2.512.52.161 and the new version 2.524.63.181.
Settings in the GOP-structure of my SVCD template :
Number of I picture in GOP = 1
Number of P picture in GOP = 4
Number of B picture in GOP = 2
Output interval of sequence header = 0
MAX number of frames in a GOP not active
Output bitstream for edit = uncheck (not marked)
Detect Scene change = check (marked)
Force picture type setting = uncheck (not marked)
With setting as described above we get following GOP-structure :
Old Tempgenc : version 2.512.52.161 IBBPBBPBBPBBPBB
This GOP structure begins with I en ends with BB
New Tempgenc : version 2.524.63.181 BBIBBPBBPBBPBBP
This GOP structure begins with BB en ends with P
Whats the correct GOP-structure IBBPBBPBBPBBPBBPBB or BBIBBPBBPBBPBBP
Is this (BBIBBPBBPBBPBBP) a bug in the new version 2.524.63.181 ?
I have a flash asf recorder saves on sd card. I capture tv shows 352x 240 for pda playback. I go asf to avi then use vdub to take out ads. How do I set the batch function on tmpgenc up to do a bunch of avi to mpg's at once. I've read the boards but can't quite figure the process.
To use batch function set up your project (don't run/start it) and then save the project to a file. Do all the projects you need saving each one to a separate file. Now load batch function and add those saved projects. You may save the batch if you want I always do. Now run the batch.
Unfortunately batch does not work with MPEG tools. I'm hoping for that to be included in the next upgrade.
A question about Merge and Cut in MPEG Tools TMPGENC 2.5 free version. Using on DVD standard MPEG files. Generally this tool works OK but sometimes I've noticed that it does not follow exactly the cut points I entered. Most often a few extra frames are added or if I'm removing just one frame from the beginning or end of a file it won't do it. I know this has something to do with creating MPEG2 files to a specific multiple number of frames/time code multiple/file size multiple but what exactly are the parameters?
Every time I try to select an AVI file to convert, it says it cannot open or it is unsupported. I tried downloading the DivX codec but it still says the same thing. Why is the program doing this and what can I do to solve it, please?
Dowload Gspot codec information appliance (search on google). Then load the movie with it and check the codec you need. Search for the codecs and install them.
I'm using the project wizard and im doing a NTSC CBR MP2 encode. When i'm comparing the preview of my video (with TMPEnc) and the m2v file after the encoding, the video size differ. I just want to know if someone else have this problem.
I use Dazzle DVC150b video capture device. After I install the driver (WinXP SP2, PIV 2.4 GHz), I tried to cut a video file. I got "Could not obtain the length of the movie with DirectShow (0X800004001)" error message. Could anyone help me!!
nowadays tmpeg cannot convert rm file to mpeg, may i know what is the main problem? thus how it can be resolve? while you converting the file it should appears some picture, but it is not. after fnish converting, the output consists of audio, sound no picture and no motion at all.
i need the assistance, thanks..
I get an error message when converting wav/audio + mpg/video, it says 'scanline out of range' and I don't know how to fix it. It doesn't happen with all files but with some. Any ideas? Thanks!
The file I avi I want to encode is from a TV broadcast. The frame rate for the file is 23 fps. This is the same frame rate that the NTSC Film says it will encode.
Isn't NTSC Film the standard for Motion pictures and not Television broadcast?
Should I encode in NTSC format instead? This is for a VCD.
Hi Darkhawk.
Sorry for taking so long to answer your question. I haven't been here in quite some time.
Yes, NTSC Film is the standard for Motion pictures and not Television broadcast. Load the "VideoCD (NTSC).mcf" format from the templates directory. It should be fine. I have never had a problem with it.
I hope that is of help to you.
I really like using the TMPGEnc MPEG Tools (found in File menu). However it only can do one task at a time. I was wondering if we can request for a batch queue. So we can set up more than 1 (eg. 5 simple multiplex) in a batch queue then start all.
That would be better.
TMPGEnc is the best MPEG1/2 encoder in the world!!
PS: is there a difference between TMPGEnc and TPMPGEnc and TMPEGEnc? I've seen these 3 names mentioned all the time in various places.
