Question - Error Message No.43591
tigereyes2601  2006-04-19 13:38:46 ( ID:hztmmyhjehm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I get an error message when converting wav/audio + mpg/video, it says 'scanline out of range' and I don't know how to fix it. It doesn't happen with all files but with some. Any ideas? Thanks!

I meant avi/video, sorry. ;-)

Question - NTSC or NTSC Film No.43589
Darkhawk  2006-03-08 14:16:21 ( ID:aqy7z/4rcl2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The file I avi I want to encode is from a TV broadcast. The frame rate for the file is 23 fps. This is the same frame rate that the NTSC Film says it will encode.

Isn't NTSC Film the standard for Motion pictures and not Television broadcast?

Should I encode in NTSC format instead? This is for a VCD.

John  2006-04-22 07:22:26 ( ID:noiu8netvmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi Darkhawk.
Sorry for taking so long to answer your question. I haven't been here in quite some time.
Yes, NTSC Film is the standard for Motion pictures and not Television broadcast. Load the "VideoCD (NTSC).mcf" format from the templates directory. It should be fine. I have never had a problem with it.
I hope that is of help to you.

Question - Equivalent for "Simple Color Correction" in AVISynth ? No.43588

Request - Batch Simple Multiplex No.43586
kevingpo  2006-03-04 15:01:40 ( ID:xfign4wgdto )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I really like using the TMPGEnc MPEG Tools (found in File menu). However it only can do one task at a time. I was wondering if we can request for a batch queue. So we can set up more than 1 (eg. 5 simple multiplex) in a batch queue then start all.

That would be better.

TMPGEnc is the best MPEG1/2 encoder in the world!!

PS: is there a difference between TMPGEnc and TPMPGEnc and TMPEGEnc? I've seen these 3 names mentioned all the time in various places.

Kevin  2006-05-11 01:04:32 ( ID:kzw6ow5urlg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm another Kevin who would also like to see the same feature of batch MPEG tools.

Regarding TMPGEnc and TPMPGEnc and TMPEGEnc....pretty sure its just typos. The program name is hard to type as it can't be pronounced.

Question - xvid to mpg issue No.43585
ckunath  2006-03-01 19:34:05 ( ID:9tjvibsr/uo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hello all, have a big problem i hope you can help me with.

I have xvid avi. I have no problems loading it however the file size goes up 3 times. I have read that you need to increase the directshow filter. I did that and it corrected the problem of the file size.

Now i have a problem that the final result is jittery. So i went back and reset the enviroment and the result was a long file that was not jummpy. It seems that when the directshow filter is raised to 1 then TMPengc wants to change it from a film to video.

This is driving me crazy! Right now either i get a long file that is unusable or a jumpy one. Can you please help!

Question - TMPGEnc Plus Encode Log - Auto-email?? No.43584
Funkenstein  2006-02-28 16:20:46 ( ID:jbnzmyvy1s. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I process large batches at night using TMPGEnc Plus 2.521. Sometimes these batches fail during the night. I need the encode log to be emailed to me everytime it saves the encode log to file automatically. Other programs have this feature but it doesn't appear to be in Tsunami. That leaves me with the option to learn Windows scripting to try and auto-generate emails or paying someone for their programming expertise. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Question - Extracting VBR Audio From AVI No.43582
Samizdat  Home )  2006-02-27 06:16:25 ( ID:yzfdp7pfz4j )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What I have read thus far on the problem of extracting VBR audio from AVI, converting that audio, recombining it with the video, and burning a working DVD that will actually play in a DVD player and display on my TV, is very vague at best.

Can someone direct me to a comprehensive howto manual?

Thanks,

Sam

Funkenstein  2006-02-28 21:33:53 ( ID:jbnzmyvy1s. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hey Sam,

Are you just wanting a basic how-to for Tsunami? There's a good one here: http://www.theunlocker.co.uk/tutorials/dvd_tutorial/divx_to_dvd.php

They use Tsunami DVD Author. I prefer DVDlab Pro but to each his own.

I noticed your homepage is for an Alex Jones flick. Do you know Alex or is it just a tribute? I was cameraman on his Martial Law 9/11 film. Fun stuff.

Question - No sound after converting VOB to MPEG-2 No.43580
totus  2006-02-11 21:08:42 ( ID:m9vihhkzoah )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have just applied TPMGEnc (using Merge & Cut)to join two 5GB VOB files (from home movie DVDs)and convert them to MPEG-2. The result? Video works ok, but no sound. Is there something else I should have done? Can anybody advise me on the correct settings? Many thanks.

Kevin  2006-05-11 00:56:50 ( ID:kzw6ow5urlg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You've not done anything wrong, but the .vob files probably have Dolby Digital AC3 audio in them. If so TMPGEnc won't work as it doesn't support that audio codec. Use DeMultiplex feature to see the audio codec.

Reply back with the audio codec and I'll tell you what to do.

P.S. How did you extract the VOB files from the DVD?

hi,everybody

i have a question?

if i want to convert a avi film to mpeg2 with tmpgenc,

can i use ffdshow--configuration--resize&aspect setting to upscale

the film with tmpgenc?

is it possible?

if it is,how should i set ffdshow and tmpgenc

anyone can tell me?or give me link about this

thank u.

John  2006-02-26 07:52:33 ( ID:noiu8netvmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You don't need ffdshow. All you need is TMPGEnc to convert an AVI film to MPEG2
The quality of the finished product will depend entirely upon the quality of the original AVI film.

Question - AVI imports as audio only file No.43574
xavman  2006-02-07 20:11:49 ( ID:nkzp56th7aj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Have a downloaded avi file which plays fine in Windows Media Player.

However, when I try to import this same file into Adobe Premiere Elements or TMPGEnc, it shows as an audio-only file.

Any idea on how to convert this avi file to DVD format to watch on my TV?

Jetsam  2006-03-13 12:18:06 ( ID:qjt5xw2da4c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have the same problem using TMPGEnc free version

Kevin  2006-05-11 01:08:46 ( ID:kzw6ow5urlg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You probably have a weird video codec that only Windows Media Player can understand. Use the program from http://avicodec.duby.info/ to find out the codecs and post them here. I'll try and help.

Question - AVI to MPEG file - subtitles cutoff at the bottom No.43571
Animemetoo  2006-01-30 16:37:19 ( ID:cf7hutb37oo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi! I've converted anime AVI to MPEG and everything looks fine when I preview everything but once I burn into VCD and play on the tv, the subtitles are cut off at the bottom of the screen. I only see the tops of the letters. I've used 1:1 (VGA) with Full Screen and also 4:3 with Full Screen. What am I doing wrong?

John  2006-02-26 07:55:39 ( ID:noiu8netvmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try using "Full Screen (keep aspect ratio 2)"

Kevin  2006-05-12 02:47:07 ( ID:kzw6ow5urlg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Be careful to check the size of the VDO. It depends on TV standard. For NTSC or FILM VCD you need 352x240 for PAL it's 352x288. So if you've made a PAL disc and are playing it back on an NTSC player/TV you lose some of the screen.

Not everywhere conforms to or likes US standards.

RubyMiller  2006-01-23 19:49:33 ( ID:oubl72vejor )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi there,
I am working with the trial version and have imported an uncompressed AVI video file and a WAV audio file. When i tell it to encode it comes up with the error message AN ERROR OCCURRED WHEN ACN WAS INITIALSIED. Any clues as to what this means?

Many thanks,
RubyMiller
