TMPGEnc 2.5 (Free or plus version) BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
Hi there,
I am working with the trial version and have imported an uncompressed AVI video file and a WAV audio file. When i tell it to encode it comes up with the error message AN ERROR OCCURRED WHEN ACN WAS INITIALSIED. Any clues as to what this means?
Transfering AVI files to put on DVD, worked fine with free TMPGEnc, which has no expired so I have had to get TMPGEnc plus.
With the free version all I had to do was open the avi as the video source and it auto loaded the audio source, the same file. However with plus this does not work and when I try and load the audio source it says it will not open or if unsported.
I have the same problem! i select the avi file for the video but the audio line stays blank. if i manually choose the avi file for audio, it says it is unsupported. i'm guessing it's a version of avi (xvid, etc) that tmpeg does not support...??
1.) Run VirtualDub, click on "File", select "Open video file", and choose your AVI file.
2.) Click on "Audio and select "Full Processing"
3.) Click on "File" and select "Save Wave"
4.) Use this wav file as your "Audio Source" when encoding your AVI file using TMPGEnc Plus
An alternative is to:
1.) Convert the AVI file to a M2V file (no audio)using TMPGEnc Plus
2.) Convert the wav file to a MP2 file
3.) Multiplex the two files together making a MPG file.
To Convert the AVI file to a M2V file:
1.) Open TMPGEnc Plus
2.) Click on "Load" and select a DVD template
3.) Choose your AVI file as the "Video Source"
4.) Click on "Start"
You can convert the wav file to a MP2 file using dBpowerAMP Music Converter.
You can find the latest version of dBpowerAMP Music Converter for free at: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r11.5.exe
To convert the WAV file to a MP2 file:
1.) Open dBpowerAMP Music Converter
2.) Open your WAV file (from VirtualDub)
3.) Choose Mp2
4.) Select Frequency 4800 and Bitrate 384kbps and click on "Convert"
To multiplex the video and uadio together into a MPG file:
1.) Open TMPGEnc Plus
2.) Click on "File" and choose "MPEG Tools"
3.) Choose "MPEG-2 Program VBR" and brouse for your video input (M2V) and your audio input (MP2)
4.) Click on "Run" and it will multiplex the two files into one DVD compliant MPG file
When using the new version of TMPGEnc the resulting mpg file comes out too small (it doesn't fit the screen). The old version didn't do this. When I ply the VCD created from the mpg that used TMPGEnc 2.5 the video gets blown up to fit the screen making it blurry. How do I create a mpg that starts out bigger? If I try to make a 640 x 480 video using the Advanced tab the video just goes outside the working area. Help!
I am trying to join 2 mpeg2 VBR files. I used MPEG Tools and it created the joined file but didn't take any audio from the second file. Did I miss something??
I have this "problem"/bug too. And I know audio is the samekind, because those all are ripped from the same dvd. And it always looses the audio, but I've just lived with it. (But because there is no "save project" option, I think I'm not going to edit those videos again, even that bug would be fixed.)
I'm trying to convert an AVI file so I can stick it on a VCD and watch it, but it's giving me problems. It's only 51 minutes long and 578 megs in size, but when I stick it into TMPGEnc, it tells me it's 96 minutes long and it'll end up being like 961 megs. I've been using this program for years and I've never had this problem. Can someone help?
I have an MPEG file about 1 hour 20 minutes long. I am using the "clip frame" option to get out some VHS tracking lines. When it is done the audio is out of sync. I seached all the previous posts and can't find anything of help.
All I am doing is cutting out a few lines at the top and bottom and the audio is off. I tried it several times several different ways, even clipping the same amount off the top and sides and still in is off. Yes my original file is fine and there are no dropped frames.
PLEASE HELP!!
If all you are doing is simply clipping the frame then don't bother re-encoding the audio.
Just create a 'Video' only MPEG then use the simple multiplexer in the MPEG tools to mux your audio back in to the video.
I've checked all over and can't find the MPEG tools. How do you get to them? All the help file tells you is how to use them but not how to get to them.
Thanks.
I was using the wizard which is why I couldn't find the tools. Anyway I did it just like you said, 6 hours later they are still out of sync. Any other ideas?
Is the audio advanced or delayed.
You can use the 'audio gap correct' function in the 'source range' function to correct sync issues.
Just do a small test clip to get the sync right first.
just started using this wonderful (or so i have been told as i can't get mine to go quite right) tool and when i have finished encoding i have beautiful, really nice image able to fit on 1 cd and an audio file that has either just the instrumental sounds that go with the title names such as (searchlight or whatever)
and then no audio whatsoever or staight out no audio... my codex i assume is fine since i sometimes get some sound... what am i doing wrong??? anyone???
ty for any help
I have had the same issue.
I converted an .avi file to .m2v and .wav (to write to dvd format), only the first few seconds of audio exist then it's silent for the rest.
Source video codecs:
video: XviD 1.1.0
audio: MPEG-1 Layer 3 / 48000Hz 128 kb/s tot , Joint Stereo
Using TMPGenc 2.5 (Free).
I get a working .m2v video file, and a 1GB .wav file with only sound for the first few seconds.
My system can play the source video fine with sound.
I have attempted to convert to .mpg and also to .m2v+.mp2, both of which also have the same sound issue.
If I go to the setting>audio tab and click the setting button the sound I can play there is the same length as the sound that is heard after transcoding (14seconds).
When I encode a 24 minute AVI video, the output Mpeg is about 3-4 minutes shorter. I have tried using the Source Range option and that doesn't seem to work. I have searched this whole forum and haven't found a working fix. Anybody have any ideas?
Is it an AVI?
Bump up the priority of the 'Directshow file reader' in the VFAPI plugins to top of the list.
If that doesn't solve it then try putting the VFW or AVI2 decoder to top of the list.
If that fails then install FFDSHOW.
If all else fails then you will have to frame serve the file from AVISYNTH or Virtualdub.
I had the same problem. I had a PAL movie that I wanted to convert to NTSC. The movie should be about 97 minutes long but TMPGenc only would encode the first 78 minutes and then it stopped without giving me an error. The problem was that the source was set at "Video" and it should be "Film". After I changed that setting everything was alright.
I have avi files that I wish to convert to mpeg's I set the encoder, it goes through the motions, but all there is, is a blank screen, I can hear it but not see it! any suggestions?
How do you convert a avi that has subtitles to work on standard dvd players
I have tryed useing different programs such as nero a dvd santa and done such things such as changeing the frame size and aspect ratio but each time I do
the subtitles are always below the screeen where you can just varly see the top of them Sorry But Iam kinda of green at this.
