Question - Can the write speed be changed No.49355
DT  2005-02-26 12:25:37 ( ID:eo3aljutoxk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there anyway of changing the write speed, every time I have used this program the speed drop down is greyed out and set to max

I always use the slowest speed when writing dvd's and have when playing back on when burnt at max I always get some stuttering

To get around this could I just create an ISO and burn with Nero ?

Wile_E  2005-02-26 18:19:23 ( ID:42mrnraekn2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes you can just create an ISO and burn with another program.
I always have the option to change the write speed when I use this program. Maybe you should try updating firmware on your DVD drive, or reinstalling the program. Or maybe try different DVD-R/DVD+R discs. Some drives don't like certain discs.

Is Pegasys working on an update or a new version of DVD Author? It's been a couple of months since the front page of Pegasys-inc have been updated. Last update was for the older TMPGENC 2.5 encoder.

I would like to see more templates and buttons and more features for DVD Author.

Question - Is it possible to use AC3-Plugin as a standalone No.49350
Tamron  2005-02-20 13:02:31 ( ID:7pbuqpj/b3k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

DVDLab Pro use the TmpgEnc to convert MP2-Sound to DolbyDigital. But is it possible to use AC3-Plugin as a standalone-applikation?

I am interested to use the TmpgEnc AC3-Plugin in a batch-process to change mp2-Files to AC3.

Bug report - Menu Background Image No.49348
pvideo  2005-02-19 23:38:13 ( ID:kzllgl2cuug )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've noticed that the encoded background image of the menu has washed out blacks compared with the original. This is with yellow font and drop shadow in the particular dvd menu I've just made. Compared with the photoshop image and the DVDAuthor menu theme unencoded page, the encoded output has a higher black setup. I'm wondering if this is due to the drop shadow, or the rollover highlight colors, or font color.....

B_Racer  2005-02-24 09:43:06 ( ID:0jd4rmr3tyn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

That's effekt of the Luma-Range in MPEG2.
MPEG2 uses YV12 with a CCIR601-Luma-Range, your Photoshop uses RGB.

In RGB, Black is 0, White is 255 - in YUV, Black is 16, White is 235.

Question - How to make minor change in authored DVD? No.49345
djohn  2005-02-15 03:16:27 ( ID:cbixufgjer6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok, so I make up my DVD. Let TDA author the dvd. This can take 40 mins up to 3.5 hours depending on the source video. Burn to disk, check, then find I want to make a change.

How do I make a minor , say spelling correction, and not re-author the dvd?

Thanks,

-j

Sakuya  2005-02-27 05:30:40 ( ID:njjiivtkzsw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't think that's allowed. You must get it all correct and author or you will have to do it again. When it authors, it merges everything into VOBs so you cannot edit anything on the menus. But I'm not so sure about track titles.

Question - Will not select certain track No.49344
djohn  2005-02-11 05:40:54 ( ID:6w9lsdbrduc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok, using TMPGENC DVD Author 1.6,

I created a dvd, edit main menu, using Layout #10.
I am using mpg1 files as the source video.
Video #4 and others have been re-encoded using TMPGENC.

The several standalone DVD players will not select the fourth title in the list.
Also, when moving between track listings, from bottom up, it skips #9 or second to last. When moving the selection marquee from top to bottom, it selects #9.

Under no circumstances will it select #4.

Why?

Question - Where did the audio go? No.49342
paul  Home )  2005-02-04 17:01:04 ( ID:dobue5yebuk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i started with an avi file, which i then encoded to mv2/wav. i then use the dvd author tool to create a dvd file structure. burn the disc, and i have no audio on it.

any ideas?

paul

This happens to me all the time.
You may be missing the audio codec needed. Use GSPot.

Most likely though, it just didn't come through.
Try extracting the audio track.
Use Virtual Dub for avis.
Or use TMPGENC go to File/Tools/Demupliplex.
Double click on the audio track to extract and save to disk.
Then when you fo to author click browse to specifically select the extracted audio, thus overriding the audio track loaded by default.

bigjack  2005-09-12 05:53:25 ( ID:tm9mj6uhcon )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I had the same problem. Here is what I did:
Uninstalled DVD Author
Uninstalled Nero Burning Rom (I don't think that really mattered, but did it anyway)
cd c:\windows\system32
del px*.*

I had to delete anything that started with px from the system32 directory under the windows directory.
(actually I created a temp directory to hold em just in case I needed em)
Then re-installed DVD Author.

worked like a charm after that

Request - Audio from Track Preview No.49335
Bass  2005-01-31 21:48:20 ( ID:0w0/jxdmrif )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Please add the ability to select the Track Preview Audio from the Main Menu. I put a 15 sec clip of the movie on this thumbnail, and it would be great to hear the audio along with the video. I ususlly disable the background audio and just have a silent main menu with the movie preview. Having both the video and audio would be much better.

If I have more then one track on the main menu, the "highlighted" one should have its audio played.

Thanks,
Brian
