TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5 & 1.6 / TSUNAMI MPEG DVD Author BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
I am trying to make a "best of" my SNL 25 years of music 5-DVD set I received for Xmas. I want to put my favorites on one DVD. I have decrypted from the first 2 DVD's and added them to DVD author with no problem. However any file I try to edit from the 3rd DVD will give me an error message "illegal linear PCM stream" in DVD author. The audio info from the clip is:
I have been to get DVD Author to create a disc that will only do these things when I put it in a player:
1) Display a single menu
2) Only play the chapter the chapter I select and press play on.
I've tried different combinations of Menu Options and no matter what I do it:
1) Displays the menu. Good
2) Plays the chapter I select. Also good.
3) Plays the next chapter. Bad. I can't get it to stop doing this I want it to return to the track menu.
I tried telling it to only include the track menu because it's stupid to have a main menu with only one selection that points to the track menu.
Any suggestions? I'm really tired of burning this disc to DVD-RW. I want to finish this up by putting it on a DVD-R and reclaiming my 4GB.
That's simple: You can't do that by using TDA. That's a trick, only Authoring-Tools like Scenarist, Maestro or DVDLab Professional are providing (it's called "Playlist").
and followed johns0's directions and it worked out great for me. I have 4 clips on my main menu that I can select individually, that clip is then played and the DVD returns back to main menu.
The only problem is that you must press the "title" menu button on the remote to access the main menu. Pressing the "DVD" Menu (Which I consider the Main menu selection) does nothing. Pressing either should get back to the menu as in other authoring packages. I think this should be corrected.
There is something strange, TDA is 68 dollars for download.
But the box version which includes DVD Source Creator(29 dollars) is only,
69 dollars at Buy.com.
I wonder how they set the prices...
I wanted to know how to create a DVD with biligual Audio file. I demux my TS-Linux File in 1 MP2 file Vidio and 2 oder 3 WAV Files but I canA't import 2 oder 3 different audio files. Did you have an answer for me how to do that.
I have dozens of AVI files i would like to burn onto a DVD.
I am very new with the whole process, and i'm unfamiliar with even the basics.
My avi's are 24 minutes long and 190 megs in size, 640x480 in dimensions.
When creating a VCD with a standard CD-R, i'm able to fit 3 episodes onto 1 cd.
How many episodes can i fit onto a DVD with near/better quality then that of a VCD?
All i know is that i have to encode the AVI into DVD format? I'm using TMPGenc to do this; however my files end up turning out to over a gig. When i decrease the bit rate, the lowest it will go is 500 mb.
Other then what i've listed above... i don't know what other steps are involved in the task that i'm trying to accomplish.
Any suggestions? help would be really appreciated thanks!
Before, it used to burn really well in TDA. But I started to install several authoring/burning trial programs recently because TDA could not match my needs for subtitles. But I found it didn't work well so I removed the programs. But now, after authoring in TDA, the DVD Writing Tool does not recognize my DVD drive. I usually insert a DVD+RW into the disc before clicking the "Open DVD Writing Tool" button. But it still won't recognize it after a considerable amount of time. The drop-down menu for the drive list is empty. When I try to click "Burn" or "Erase", it says "Drive is not ready."
Please help! I can burn fine in Nero. Other programs that uses the same drive works well as well. What's the problem?
There is a conflict problem between DVD writers.
It is a common problem. Uninstall TDA once, and re-install it.
After that you should be able to use TDA's DVD writer.
It seems that in most cases, it is not posiible to use several DVD writers
in parallel.
I have a clip in a project that is fully recognized by TDA (from start to finish, video and audio). And I have created a bunch of chapters in it. The chapters are recgonized and I can click to the last chapter and last frame in the editing screen.
However, when I author the clip to DVD, the last chapter is #50 and the title ends. The help file says 99 chapters are possible.
What could be the problem? I have started from scratch twice, there is nothing wrong with the orignal clip, TDA "sees" it ok, it's just the authoring that goes bad.
I'm using my stand alone player, which plays every other disc I've authored using TDA. I must have re-authored this project 5 0r 6 times already, and I'm convinced it's the clip itself and not TDA.
Anyone know a good format checker for VCD files? Illegal frames, bit rates, etc?
I am also using TDA to make back up copies of DVDs for my friends. So this is what I did:
1.Create New Project
2.Add DVD Video
3.Select DVD drive; VIDEO_TS
4.Double-click on first title
5.Uncheck reading chapters
6.Check copy to HDD
7.Ok
For some reason, near the end of the progress, it said "Stream write error" or something like that. Last time I did this, it worked and there were 3 outputted MPEG-2 files in my folder. What I'm trying to do is extract the videos from the DVD, and then load them back into TDA to burn to a DVD+R. Last time it worked, but this time, I'm getting all sorts of errors.
Have you looked at the product at all? There's a lot of editing you can do with the menus. From the "Create Menu" screen, you click on "Edit Menu Theme" or the "Edit" button to specify background images, change buttons, etc.
I really like this product, but it would be nice to have an UNDO button on the editing screen as well as a SAVE button so you could save it after a lot of edits in case something goes wrong.
A couple of times, I have somehow made an incorrect CUT and an UNDO button would have saved me a lot of work. A SAVE function would be very useful after you have made a lot of edits and you could save it without getting out of the EDIT function.
