There are still some errors in authoring with TDA.
If I set chapter-points TDA compiles layer breaks. This is terrible, cause many DVD-Players stop seamless playback at layer-breaks, search for new entrypoint and playback again. There is a pause of about one or two seconds.
Chapters must be compiled as cell-breaks.
The Menustructur in the ifo-files every time is compiled as NTSC. In europe we have PAL-sources and menus. This entry is to be compiled the same way as the source by the way.
Menues always compiled as panscan and letterboxed. So i Have tu manually unset them.
For the Moment TDA is un anproduktive tool, because I have to recompile the layoutet DVD with ifo-edit in the right way.
I see no way to spend my money for such an unproduktive tool.
I folks I hav been trying to get DVD Author to Burn Video_TS Folders to DVD But it doesn"t see My Sony DRU 500A Burner, When I go into the Help files that Burner model shown there is the same model that I have But it doesn"t work on Mine....Does anyone know how to get It to work....Cheers
Got warning "The video GOP is too long" while importing an MPG into DVD Author 1.5.13.44. Strange: the MPG was created with TMPGEnc Plus 2.513.53.162 and *standard profile* (Project Wizard/Video-CD/PAL/Standard-VBR).
If you realy used the Standard-Template, it must be OK.
But you wrote Standard-VBR. VBR isn't alowed for VCD-Format-Videos on DVD. They have to be encodet in CBR (max Bitrate 1850 kbps Audio+Video).
I am having a problem with dolby digital 5.1 sound. What happens is I can only bring in certain clips that have AC3 but sometimes I get audio differs error and there is no audio when I check in clip settings. I have triple check that there are all Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Anyone know what his might be?
Got similar problems, with demultiplexed AC3s, sometimes. A small program named AC3FIX does the trick, usually. Try to search for it via Google and use it on demultiplexed AC3s.
Big draw back with creating menus. DVD Author allows the user to set a font for all items in the menu but doesn't allow a user setting for font size and color that can be applied to all chapter numbers and chapter descriptions within a project. The same limitation can be found in menu settings like "previous" "next" "chapter menu" and "play track".
It's very tedious changing each of these individually. Is there a quicker method? Why not add more user defined settings?
The menu templates appear to be stored in *.tme files located in the "templates" subdirectory within the DVD Author directory.
I have opened these files in a text editor but I could not edit them with any success.
Can these files be edited? What is used to create the inital menu templates? Once a few more examples are available it will help eliminate the biggest complaint with this program... the menu choices are terrible.
I do like the program compared to others... I just need different menu choices.
There is no help yet. TMPGEnc DVD Author supports only on Video an one Audio-Track, no additional Tracks like Sub-Pictures or more than one Audio-Track.
hi, i have just converted an avi to dvd with tmpgenc everything went ok at the end i got my two different files (m2v+wav). then i went to tmpgenc dvd to turn the files into vob files so i could burn them with nero but when done it only plays 20 seconds of the audio. this is really enoying please help
This Board is for TMPGEnc DVD Author, not for the Encoder TMPGEnc, which is not able to handle some kinds of Audio-Formats corretly. Use VirtualDubMOD to convert the Audio-Part to WAV first.
I am using the trial version of the DVD Author program,,, which I really like!! However, do I have to convert my avi files to MPEG2 before I can use the DVD author app. I know to make a DVD you need to use MPG2 however I wanted to know if the DVD Author application would automatically convert my avi files for me... currently I have to use the TMPGenc to convert the file then bring the file to TMPGenc DVD Author to make the DVD.... any help would be great!
i wanted to know is...is it possible just to put the VOB files...the movie part excluding the rest of IFO and BUP files into Author and make into DVD???will it recognise it properly???????
