Question - TAW4 - MKV files No.71709

I keep getting the error message cannot open "XXX.mkv" - how can I import these?

Question - TVMW7 - Converting image sequence to video clip No.71707
Paul Peterson  2021-01-27 23:31:57 ( ID:ibpgxkvuu3n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I used a 3D animation program to generate a series of images. I want to compile them into a video file. I used to be able to do this with older TMPGEnc tools. Can it be done with VMW7? If so, How?

Sure, just add them to one layer in Time Line mode.

Question - TAW5 BBS - Compressing two tracks to fit onto 4.7Gb disc ? No.71702
BOBC  2021-01-21 01:23:50 ( ID:z00m7elpo.w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,
TMPGenc Authoring Works 5
I have two tracks
1 is 40m 16 s
2 is 42m 44s
they show as orange beyond the 4.7Gb limit,, 226mm is the 4.7Gb length and 52mm of orange beyond it !

What are the steps I need to follow, to get both onto the 4.7Gb DVD disc ? please talk me through it. I appreciate there might be a slight loss of quality, its already SD from HD but I cant afford to use up 14 discs having 14 tracks to burn to dvd-r for an elderly friend.

Its annoying as I was hoping to put 4 tracks onto one disc, so I will be using up a lot more discs. I shall use DVD_RW and erase and re-use afterwards if I have enough !
He hasnt a tv with usb socket else showing the videos would be dead easy, but old folk have old kit !

Cheers

BOBC

Request - TMSR6 - Lots of missing features for Audio-Codecs No.71700
mbc  2021-01-18 00:16:51 ( ID:uawzfkl97lf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Still updated to v6 some hours ago and I am very disapointed what I got for that price.

1. Export in lossless audio is still not working. Of course you can export to PCM, but only up to 2 channels (stereo) WHY? Technically its no problem, even better with usage as w64 or rf64.

2. Eport to (Multichannel)FLAC (in general) is still not possible? WHY? Its a free codec.

3. Smart-Recode not possible for eac3? WHY ? Even free encoder can do this (ffmpeg)

4. HDR possible ... fine, but what version? I guess only the easy HDR10, not HDR10+ and nor HLG ...

So I am again stuck in a not lossless workflow, by recompressing. If you have an eac3-Audiotrack inside your source it re-encode the whole track to ac3.

I dont want sound harsh, but for that price you want for these upgrades, its not a good deal, maybe this was my last one, benefits are less to none.

It would be nice to do Multichannel-output for FLAC and PCM/Wave, so you can at least work lossless in audio too.

Question - TAW5 BBS - Menu and chapters No.71694
Spirit  2021-01-01 02:19:24 ( ID:ozsgonibjcc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am creating a blu-ray live video music disc, so basically i have the main menu with "play all" and "concert select".

In concert "select menu" i have a list of concerts to watch. if you select a concert it then goes in to a "song select menu" and this is where the problem start.

If i create chapters for every song in the concert it then creates a new page for every song, so i have for example:- 22 pages each containing a button to play that song. I want all 22 songs on one menu page.

Is this possible?
Thanks for any help.

tkrave  2021-02-23 16:43:57 ( ID:5kzeb8lesb2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If I'm understanding correctly, each song is really just a chapter in a track, correct?

If so, it's really a matter of choosing the correct menu template for your chapter menu. I would choose a track menu with 22 thumbnails on it. You'll need to choose the custom template option in the menu wizard.

Question - TVMW7 - NOT save resolution to template (tvmw7e); No.71692
Bullhead  2020-12-31 02:49:59 ( ID:ihigapn18/2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

One question, if save format template (tvmw7e) - too is save resolution? But then is template unusable:-(. If I use sources in different resolutions, then load template always set too resolution (save in template), but this is bad (output not keep ration from input).

Is possible NOT save resolution to template? Only save others settings?

thanks for info
BJ

Bullhead  2020-12-31 03:19:31 ( ID:ihigapn18/2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

...same problem FPS ...input source(s) in more FPSs (24, 23.976 etc.) - but after load format template FPSs "hard" set to template value (like resolution:-(). In most cases is change FPS undesirable.

Is possible NOT save resolution (after load template resolution set from original video OR after load template resolution set only WIDTH from template and HEIGHT set by aspect ratio) and NOT save FPS?

Maybe new settings(check boxes) in preferences (-not save resolution - not save FPS)?

B.

Question - TAW6 - subtitle odd character substitutions No.71685
biffboogins  2020-12-22 04:47:45 ( ID:mkcr1ylcfg6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am importing SRT format subtitles that are in Spanish. They are exported from my Final Cut Pro 10.5.1 timeline. When I import them into Authoring Works 6, odd characters are substituted throughout. This is happening in on import, as the SRT files do not contain these odd characters, and the subtitles look fine in Final Cut Pro. I have also tried this with SRT caption files I received directly from 3Play Media and the same thing happens. Is there anyway to correct or prevent this? Here is an example of what I get:

Original in SRT file: estableció

After Import: estableció

I am on Windows and see the same thing for the Swedish language. To fix it i open it in Notepad and then go to File > Save As. In the Save As dialog i change the Encoding option from UTF-8 to ANSI and click Save to overwrite and save the file.

There must be a simple text editor on the Mac as well. If not, try SubtitleEdit, it can change the Encoding as well.

Now the file works as expected in TAW6.

biffboogins  2020-12-29 00:34:41 ( ID:vqi8eckfntr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks. I had opened it in Textedit on the mac just to see it, but never thought to change the encoding. I'll try this.

Free talk - TMSR6 - Upcoming English Version of TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 6 No.71663
Development team   Home )  2020-11-05 11:07:39 ( ID:nrp09m2aqdn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Announcing the upcoming release of the English version of TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 6, the successor to TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 5.

Preview trial version released today!

The download version will be released on November 16th (PST).

----------------------------------------------------
Next Generation Cut Editing Tool - Now with Supports HDR Editing and Output.
----------------------------------------------------
TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 6 is designed for cutting videos with great speed and detail. Standard video encoding software takes a lot of time to output. However, TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 6 minimizes the encoding range with its "Smart Rendering" feature, which is able to output video files with as little degradation as possible. That means practically no loss in quality other than the edited areas, and results in super-fast output.

----------------------------------------------------
Even More Supported Formats and Many New Features.
----------------------------------------------------
This version newly supports previewing, editing and outputting in the HDR (High Dynamic Range) * color space. This allows the user to import footage recorded by HDR cameras or edited by HDR-supported editing software such as TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 7, then export them with the original vividness without any deterioration other than the edited points. This version newly supports AVI (uncompressed, Motion JPEG, Cineform) and VP9 codec formats with Smart Rendering output. Smart rendering support has further increased for previously supported formats, including the expansion of compatible profiles, variable frame rate support, and more. Furthermore, new output support for XAVC and MXF containers has been added. Other new features that further enhance the convenience of cut editing, which is the heart of this software, have been implemented. The software also includes Blu-ray BDAV authoring and the Commercial Candidate Detector function, for a complete high speed experience of cutting, editing and output.

* PQ and HLG supported.
