Question - TE40 - Upsidedown Video No.68046
applause  Home )  2013-10-21 19:39:49 ( ID:q5rvcr4dqa2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have identified a problem where .wmv files encoded with TMPGENC 4 randomly play upsidedown in Adobe Director using their mediaplayer xtra.

Problem not experienced with other encoders.

Anyone confirm this??

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Editing question No.68043
Bob  2013-10-19 03:34:28 ( ID:5naf9/4evxn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This is fairly complicated so bear with me...

I have a music video clip that has a few sections it which I would like to crop so that the image is zoomed in during those sections, but the rest of the clip remains the way it was. I know how to crop so it's easy enough to create sub-clips that are zoomed in, but what I am unsure of how to do best is how to assemble those sub-clips together in such a way to have nice video crossfades in them but no audio crossfading. I tried using timeline mode but in order to get a nice video crossfade, but the clips have to be overlapped to get crossfading and that also crossfades the audio, which I do not want.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

tkrave  2013-10-22 05:40:26 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

In Timeline mode, you can just turn off the audio for the edited layers. So basically have one layer that has the full, unedited video and use that for your audio.

Bob  2013-10-22 14:31:32 ( ID:.ce7xkvadkf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks tkrave. What I find is in order for there to be crossfades (or any transitions for that matter) between the edited clips, you have to overlap them in timeline mode, and when you do that, the final video clip is shorter than the original, unedited clip by the total of all the crossfades. Granted, I don't want long crossfades between clips (around 1 second each I am guessing would be good) but even just a couple 1 second crossfades then results in the video being 2 seconds shorter than the audio. This makes a lot of sense when you think about...that crossfades will shorten the video. I am not sure what else to try.

Bob  2013-10-22 22:53:14 ( ID:.ce7xkvadkf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

OK -- I seem to have found a good compromise. What I did was, in timeline mode, I lengthened the duration of the first edited clip to make up for the shortened video that resulted from the crossfade into the 2nd edited clip. Lengthening the duration of a first edited clip clip to make it longer than the source freezes the last frame, which then is not really noticeable during a short .75 second or so crossfade into the 2nd edited clip.

any idea when hevc encoding will be added? strongene and divx already have an encoder and there's also x265.

when can we expect to see this feature?

also, how about adding vp9 encoding support?

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Mask filter No.68037
kyleb2112  2013-10-16 22:04:31 ( ID:sa0irbwwdcw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm trying to put a static mask on an entire video clip, but the mask filter only affects the first frame of video. I try to set the range to the end of the video, but the "set current frame" button does nothing. Why wouldn't a mask affect the entire video by default?

tkrave  2013-10-22 05:58:44 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you in Timeline mode? I think it's easier to use the mask filter in the timeline mode. The mask will have its own timeline which you can easily adjust the duration.

Question - TE40 - with Windows 8 No.68036

Question - TVMW5 BBS - How do I create a MKV with multiple audio tracks ? No.68031
BlizzardUK  2013-10-12 02:25:37 ( ID:8l//1xjzpnf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying to convert my blu-ray collection to MKVs for viewing on my media centre. I have one blu-ray that has 4 audio tracks on. Yet when I import it in to MW5 it only allows me to have 1 audio track, I can choose which one, but not all of them. 2 are PCM and 2 are Dolby Digital.

How do I make all 4 audio tracks be encoded ? MKV's can have multiple tracks.

Thanks.

Persen  2013-10-14 08:31:44 ( ID:ck5qlbj0u/k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can't with this software, it only supports one audio track. I don't even suggest that you use it for ripping purposes, simply due to how slow it works and the problems there will be due to copy protections.

I suggest that you purchase a propper ripping software, who is able to add multiple audio tracks and also has a much better CUDA and DXVA hardware acceleration support, because this cuts the ripping time of a Blu-ray movie by nearly 75%. My tip there is DVDFab 9 because of how fast it works when hardware acceleration is being used.

Alkermes  2013-10-26 03:40:27 ( ID:l8l.we3au/c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can make the video and audio separately and merge them in a MKV file with MKVMergeGUI software.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Ogg audio file problems No.68029
Primus  2013-10-09 14:47:12 ( ID:4y6e65ax40n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok, so I'm trying to do a project where it contains multiple audioless mpg video files and Ogg audio files. The problem is that TMPGEnc VMW5 can't read some of the Ogg audio files properly. For some reason the files that can't be read properly are shortened to 1 second length. So for instance, I have one ogg file that is 13 sec long and another ogg file that is 10 sec long. If I add the 13s length audio file to my project, it can play the audio fine. But for what ever reason, when I add the 10s audio file, it will shorten to 1s length and it plays no sound. Anyone have an idea to a solution that might fix this problem?

Persen  2013-10-14 08:58:11 ( ID:ck5qlbj0u/k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try to recode the problematic audio files to uncompressed WAV with an audio encoding tool.

donmeltonjr  2013-10-07 08:04:52 ( ID:xhpf7zpeoxa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm a newbie at authoring my DVDS. But I've had Authoring Works 5 about 3 months. Authored about 6-8 dvds. Used the same templates each time. They're simple but functional. 1 track title page with title, play button, chapter button. 1 chapter page with 6-10 chapters. Last time I attempted the same process, I could only get a chapters button. Can some one help me figure out how to put my play button back? Thanks, Don

Free talk - TAW5 BBS - AW 5.1.3.57 does not write to Blu Ray when Post-Processing Option Selected No.68021
mjflath  2013-10-05 17:50:50 ( ID:yzzbhdoeno2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When I select "Write to DVD/BD" as post-process option for a Blu Ray project, a disc is never written to, even though AW 5 indicates the operation has completed successfully. I can launch the disc writing tool from the dialog box that appears when disc writing is normally complete, and it then creates the BD successfully - it just won't perform the operation as part of the initial post processing.

Running Win 7 64 Bit Professional.

Thanks.

Is there any hope that there will be an update to use .mst files from Sony videocameras? Right now I can import them, despite the warning it can`t read them, but the preview window stutters enormously and the footage afterwards is nowhere near the expected 1080p quality.
I`ll have to give handbrake a try to convert it, but it would be nice if TMPGEnc could handle it by itself. Thank you for the attention!

gspanos  2013-09-29 19:35:59 ( ID:bsa4l56wzbn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Do you mean .mts files? If so, I convert them to H264 using Roxio Toast (Apple software). I figure that Roxio Creator (PC software) does the same thing. I agree that it would be nice if TMPGEnc could handle it by itself.

And when they also are at it, then they also need to take a look at the support for WebM video files.
Its shown there is suppose to be support for it, but my experience is that its not supported.
I tested several Youtube downloaded videos, that was downloaded as .webm files by WM Recorder 14, but neither of them can be opened.
