I have a concert that is 35 individual songs that i want to make one concert.
I added them all as tracks and now when i watch the concert back each time is goes from one track to another it pauses for a second or 2.
I want it to be seamless.

Should i have created just one track and added all 35 videos to this and if so can i still chose individual songs from the menu?

Any advice would be appreciated

It has been my experience that when many clips are added to the same track the join points are seamless and then of cource you would use the edit function to add a chapter mark at the beginning of each song/clip

Yes, there is.

Go to the clip edit screen and click on the "edit menu" button (the button isn't acutally labeled "edit menu", it just has an icon of a contextual menu -- see screenshot). Then select chaptering tool. Or just hit ctrl + k to open the chaptering tool window. You'll be able to set chapters automatically through various means, such as specified intervals (every x minutes) or by setting how many chapters you want.

I am trying to make a DVD with a simple menu. I have a project with a single track and 11 chapters. I want the first menu to have to links: Play All and Chapter Selection.

If the user hits play all, it starts from chapter 1 and plays all the chapters in that track.

If the user hits Chapter Selection, it takes them to a chapter selection page.

How do I do this???

First option:
Just make sure you choose the option to make a top and track menu. Your top menu is the menu you are describing, while the track menu is your chapter menu.

Your top menu should automatically have a "play all" button. You should also have a thumbnail or link for your track - this is your chapter selection button.


Second option:
Create a Track-only menu but also add a title page for the track menu (this option is only available for custom menus). Your title page will then have a link to play and a chapter link.

FFmpeg and others allow video stream copies so I dont need to re-encode the video stream. How can i do this in TMPGEnc4XP?

You can't. The one thing I don't like about the TMPG line of software is how much the different software packages overlap. You'd have to spend another $65 on a license of TMPG MPEG Editor 3 if you want the ability to convert without re-encoding. Xpress & Editor dont talk to each other directly so you're better off using something free to do that conversion.

That sucks. I use TMPGEnc4XP because of the batch and subtitle features only. I often find the reencode sucks though.
I don't know how to show subtitles in the free versions....any direction would be great.

I am using the TMPGEnc Express 4 with SpursEngine and encoded 1 hour pal video with the format DVD-PAL 720x576 , 16:9, 25 fs.
It encode successfully and can play within mediaplayer with full screen.

Then, i put the encoded mpeg file inside Authoring Works 4 to build a DVD image with no DVD menu. after completed, I wiew the video by media player, The video will reside in 4:3 format and only show the video on top left corner.

Why this happen?

What are the specifications of the video in the clip editor? Aspect ratio, framerate, etc.?

I having problem sync the mp4 video files that I use TMPGEnc movieStyle to converted. It show and play on the itune just fine... but when I sync to the ipod, it will not sync. it keep saying that the formate is not right. I use to have TMPGEnc videosync and it never give me this problem.. do anyone know how to fix this. thanks..

The Disc writing tool is not working. I am receiving an error stating that the 'Disc Writing Drive is stopped'. However, my drive is not stopped. I uninstalled the Samsung DVD Drive and reinstalled, still not luck. The DVD drive is not recognised by the TMPGEnc Authoring works 4. Please help.

When adjusting the audio I am not sure which is the best to use, normalization or unifomization.

I want all clips to have about the similar volume level though the imported video files have different levels. I use unifomization but I unfortunately do not understand the difference excplined in the help file.

Unfortunately the help file does not say in wich type of situations you are supposed to use any particular of these two settings.

As I mix a lot of sources in my DVD's I normally have to make volume adjustments for every clip in the audiofilter box of the clip editor. I have some suggestions there to smoothen the workflow.

1. It would be very convenient if you could open the audio filter box straight from Cliplist window, like it you do with the transition editor.

2. As in the transition editor, it would also be very practical to have the option "apply to all clips" for the audio filter box settings.

3. I would also simplify a lot if you could save any personlized audio filter settings for easy access to the most often used combinations.

I have some POV HD .mov video files which I would like to
convert to HDV (M2V) files. Is this possible with AW4?
I've used it to output .mpg files.

Im adding a mkv format with sub. But when I view the video I don't see any sub. There no files withing the video just the mkv. Does Tmpgenc authoring 4 support this?

have you activated the subtitle stream after importing the mkv?

Clip Editing > Subtitles > Put tick mark against Subtitles 1

I wish to encode a few video clips into 1 single file. I try to find way to insert transition/animation between each clip. How to do that? Thank you.

This program can't really do transitions...well, it can to a simple fade-out/in but that's it.

To do the fade-in/out effects, go to the filter tab in the clip editor window.
