Can I chage the aspect ratio of a finished DVD menu? I want to chage from 4:3 to 16:9, but I only find to do it if I make a new DVD menu. I haven't found to change it in the dvd menu properties.
I don't believe you can. I have found the menu creation process lacking in many respects including not being able to change things without having to start over.
Authoring Works 4 is probably trying to connect with the validation server. Is there is a way to add it to a safe programs list or allow it to connect to the internet?
I'm still trying to learn how to use the SlideShow editor, but I'm getting very frustrated. Here are some tasks that I'd like to do, but I can't figure out any simple way to do them. Let's see if anyone can point me in the right direction.
1) I wanted to put about 300 slides into a show on a DVD. Because it was over 200 slides, the show was split into two pieces. But now I want to re-arrange the order of the slides and I want to move some of the slides from the first piece into the second and vice versa. I can use drag and drop to re-arrange within one show, but it seems that I can't move from one show to another.
2) Is there anyway to splice/merge/join two slide shows into one?
3) I have an existing slide show, but now I want to add a movie clip in the middle of the show. It seems that to do this, I have to split the show into two pieces, but there doesn't seem to be any easy way to do this.
4) When re-arranging slides, is there any way to move multiple slides at one time rather than using drag and drop to move them individually?
All of these seem like they should be simple tasks, but I sure can't figure out how to do them.
Unfortunately, none of those things are currently possible. They're definitely good ideas, and I'd love to see them implemented, but currently it just can't be done.
I'm afraid there's no easy way to do any of the things you want to do; you'll have to do it all manually.
could you add a method of navigating the video by keyframe in the cut-edit screen?
for example, in the program "virtual-dub" when you hold down the shift button while dragging the navigation slider, only keyframes are shown, making it much faster
somehow I can convert rmvb to DVD before, but after I reinstall my os I cannot do it anymore. I got an error that it cannot open the video part and only the audio part can be opened. I remembered I installed FFDShow, realplayer, nero and DVD Author 3 together. please help.
Maybe someone else can help by posting a message here. Do you mean can transfer or cannot?
My strong suggestion though is please edit your comment to remove your address and email details - they are not needed!

Love Karma.. great concept and works great.. but I cannot find a use for it without the ability to do file operations such as delete, rename, move, etc.. I've tried jumping from Karma to explorer, etc.. but it is way to hard. I know Karma is a work in progress.. but please.. pretty please...
Hey guys. A quick question here, and I think I already know what the answer is going to be, but I'd just like to make sure...
Is there any way to leave out a track when using the "Play All" feature? So for example, say I have Tracks 1-4 on a DVD, selecting "Play All" would play Tracks 1-3, but not Track 4 - this can only be played by selecting it separately.
Like I said, I realise it's a long shot, (I can't find anything in the Help file to suggest this can be done), but hey nothing to lose by asking.
I am a nubie, though checked this help section the site and internet!
Could you please advise how/if possible to normalise the volume across all tracks? I have one music video in each track.
I can see I can adjust the volume per track, like 95%, however my ear is not that good to remember a base level volume and adjust the other tracks relative to it. Hopefully there is a normalization setting which can be applied to the project.
Thanks very much for any assistance! I like very much the software.
Bellow of the "95%", you have a LARGE button thas says: Copy the current audio stream filter´s settings to the other stream. Click it...(I think it´s that one hehehe)
It used to be that way with older versions.
Now, with 4.0.7.32, always first visible chapter is selected.
If you just press PLAY on your remote control
you will miss the hidden tracks at the beginning.
So you have to navigate to the PLAY button to see all...
It's only 1 track with several clips/chapters
and I couldn't find out how to pre-select PLAY.
What am I doing wrong?
Not sure what to tell you. I've tested a couple of DVDs and the Play/Play All button is selected by default on all of my projects. I'm using version 4.0.12.42.
Are you playing this on an actual DVD player or your computer?
I have done several projects so far
and I just tried a simple standard thingy...
always the same: first chapter pre-selected.
I can see this in simulation mode first
and later on DVD player as well.
Maybe I will update...
Thanks for your patience, anyway.
