Question - TE40 - Converting NTSC 4:3 to PAL 16:9 No.58895
Nimbus3  2009-06-04 12:54:29 ( ID:htqiz7jybm. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just the simple quastion: The eseast way to convert a movie from NTSC 4:3 format to PAL 16:9. I'm new to this an need some hints.

tkrave  2009-06-06 00:07:26 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When you output the file, set it to PAL and the aspect ratio to 16:9. It's that easy. You'll have black bars on the sides of your video though.

Now, things will get a little more complicated if your NTSC 4:3 movie has letterboxing encoded into the movie. If it does, then you'll have to crop those out with the crop filter.

David40  2009-06-03 03:33:27 ( ID:rc2rimbg/yn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

While encoding using the Canopus Lossless avi codec, the conversion failed at 20% with the error message "Cannot Allocate Memory for DLL"
Anyone else encountered this error and knows what to do about it?
Thanks

Question - TE40 - problem with output videos No.58892
fcz  2009-06-02 23:11:24 ( ID:gkze3gu7tcg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hi,
after few days using TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, and i'm getting really frustrated with this.
i'm using it to convert mpeg files which i record with my tv tuner to divx.
the problem is that i really can't find the right combination of parameters; the main problem is that the output
files mostly are "cut-off", the video looks like it's zoomed.

i noticed that under format tab, where i can change divx output settings, i can't modify height of video,
it's always 480 even though my videos are 720X576; maybe that's the problem?

tkrave  2009-06-06 00:14:28 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You may just need to change the "Output profile type" to "Home theater" or "HDTV." That should allow you to input 576 as the height.

same problem...help ?!?

VicBond007  2009-06-03 22:23:13 ( ID:63ehvq23dln )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Same here on 7137.

Can run it in Virtual XP, but that's hardly a solution.

richronn  2009-06-04 00:24:00 ( ID:rbrmoohupl. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yep, I got the same problem also.. and I just downloaded the latest #7 X64 from Microsoft last night updated it and TMPGEnc 4.7.1.284 still won't work...

tkrave  2009-06-05 23:59:00 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well, seeing as how Windows 7 isn't final yet, support for it will be spotty at best. Once it's finalized, I'm sure support will be added...at least that's what I'm hoping.

nezuko  2009-06-08 16:48:30 ( ID:yj65di8yu8. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

So, in virtual XP TMPGEnc still can work, but is there difference from when you run it in the host like Vista?

Ken  2009-06-14 06:48:54 ( ID:fy4wibztkt2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Anybody have any luck sorting this out?

Duane  2009-06-16 01:47:10 ( ID:5micuiccj3g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It runs fine for me on x64 build 7100, but it won't open .mkv files. Seems to open .avi and some others though...

Ken  2009-06-18 22:28:52 ( ID:zw57sn0bdqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

it crashes on me prior to even getting to the splash screen.

nezuko  2009-07-06 21:04:55 ( ID:yj65di8yu8. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well, in other topic I find that another user which has the legit licensed serial number have their TMPGEnc Authoring works 4 and XPress 4 work well in windows 7.
they say that cracked version of those 2 software won't run under win7. Come to think of it, 7 and vista is the same kernel, so may be they right afterall. Just wait for the crack maker to release their updated crack which works fine with win7.

Endurion  2009-07-26 22:26:04 ( ID:eylg1qf.def )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You need to reinstall TMPGenc properly, using compatibility settings.

Right click the installation file and choose "properties" then "compatibility" and check the box to "Run Program As" and choose Windows Vista SP3.

That should help.

i have tried vista sp2 comp. mode in installations, didn't help either. (i don't got sp3 options)

Question - TE40 - Smooth, stutter-free video. Any tips or recommendation? No.58876
Chippy99  2009-06-02 09:54:01 ( ID:kct8aqti.x2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying to convert a video into mpg2 for burning on a DVD. The source video is 23.976 fps progressive.

No matter what I try, I cannot get and output file that plays smoothly with no stutter on panning shots etc.

I have tried NTSC and PAL, interlaced, progressive, 3:2 pulldown, inverse 3:2 pulldown, 2:2 pulldown, etc etc. But whatever I try the output video still stutters.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best settings to produce smooth, stutter-free output in a DVD-compatible format?

tkrave  2009-06-06 00:18:11 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What is your source format?
Do you have the latest update for 4.0 XPress (4.7.1.284)?

Usually stuttering is from a framerate missmatch.

Chippy99  2010-02-19 14:53:41 ( ID:7lreymhj0i2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Sorry for the delay!

The source is 23.976 fps progressive, as per above.

From this source, all I want is a PAL DVD that will play without stuttering. I don't mind 4% speedup (if I can get TMPGENC to do that, but I don't see how). But I cannot tolerate TMPGENC inserting extra frames, which is what it appears to be doing.

How do I get smooth 50Hz video from a 23.976 fps source?

Question - TE40 - Added .ts is incomplete No.58874
mlachner  2009-06-02 06:52:45 ( ID:uud0ztckbe6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am having problems with Xpress 4.0 -4.7.1.284. I record cable tv as a .ts file. If I playback the file with Nero the file is complete ie. 3 hours. I edit them (cut in sections) and convert the sections into AVI files. The problem is that when I add the file to a new project in Xpress it is not complete. For example the file is 3 hrs and when added to the project it is only 1hr+. Any ideas? Anyone?

Dee Jon  2009-07-21 09:34:33 ( ID:hqvrzuti4il )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm having the same problem with express reading .ts files. I recorded a 1hr program but when I select it for editing, it's listed as 22 or 23 mintues.

Question - TAW4 - Smart rendering No.62020
diodorus  2009-06-01 22:10:23 ( ID:qepum8f5hdc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

I have an mp4:

Video: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, 1280 x 720, 23.976 fps
Audio: MPEG-4 AAC LC, 44100Hz, stereo

I am trying to create a BDMV - either PAL and NTSC. However, when I add the file to a track, it does not show the "smart rendering" blue icon. Why is that? Is anything of that file non BDMV-compliant?

Thanks,
diodorus

Rick0725  2009-06-04 22:54:47 ( ID:.qui0lgypoj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

you can not go from ntsc to pal
interlaced to progressive
change frame rate
etc.

it will only smart render if you have selected automatic in the same format as the original.

Question - TDA3 - Buzzing in DVD after Conversion.... No.60881
Sithtiger  2009-05-30 11:15:06 ( ID:cm9pbfatzlm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm getting a buzzing on my DVD's after I convert a DivX file to DVD. It's not the burner either because I've ran the converted file before I burn it and there is no audio but just buzzing. So far I only see this on .avi files.

I did just update my codecs and I don't know why that would screw things up, I didn't change anything, but obviously it did somehow. I just need to know how to fix it now. I think it has something to do with DirectShow or maybe AC3...now sure but it's certainly messed up!

Thanks in advance!

Sithtiger  2009-05-31 02:14:57 ( ID:cm9pbfatzlm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Problem solved. I just uninstalled the Klite codec pack and installed the latest DivX pack and it's fine now.
