Question - TE25 - AVI imports as audio only file No.43574
xavman  2006-02-07 20:11:49 ( ID:nkzp56th7aj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Have a downloaded avi file which plays fine in Windows Media Player.

However, when I try to import this same file into Adobe Premiere Elements or TMPGEnc, it shows as an audio-only file.

Any idea on how to convert this avi file to DVD format to watch on my TV?

Jetsam  2006-03-13 12:18:06 ( ID:qjt5xw2da4c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have the same problem using TMPGEnc free version

Kevin  2006-05-11 01:08:46 ( ID:kzw6ow5urlg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You probably have a weird video codec that only Windows Media Player can understand. Use the program from http://avicodec.duby.info/ to find out the codecs and post them here. I'll try and help.

Question - TME1 - Media editor doesnot install No.54446
Gio  2006-02-07 18:57:19 ( ID:giwyspmz9l2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hallo Ashy, how are you? I hope fine.

I want try your Media Editor but the istalling shield give me this message:

" error 1335 The cabinet file 'data1.cab' required for this istallation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

after press "ignore" tab, a second message appears: "error 2350"

I downladed your trial version but does not install in my computer.

Can you help me?

I use Pentium III 850, 384Mb RAM, Window xp pro SP1
and I want to edit only 2 Mpeg videos 352x288 low definition......

I think can do it.

Thak you for answer.

Gio

Question - TE25 - AVI to MPEG file - subtitles cutoff at the bottom No.43571
Animemetoo  2006-01-30 16:37:19 ( ID:cf7hutb37oo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi! I've converted anime AVI to MPEG and everything looks fine when I preview everything but once I burn into VCD and play on the tv, the subtitles are cut off at the bottom of the screen. I only see the tops of the letters. I've used 1:1 (VGA) with Full Screen and also 4:3 with Full Screen. What am I doing wrong?

John  2006-02-26 07:55:39 ( ID:noiu8netvmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try using "Full Screen (keep aspect ratio 2)"

Kevin  2006-05-12 02:47:07 ( ID:kzw6ow5urlg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Be careful to check the size of the VDO. It depends on TV standard. For NTSC or FILM VCD you need 352x240 for PAL it's 352x288. So if you've made a PAL disc and are playing it back on an NTSC player/TV you lose some of the screen.

Not everywhere conforms to or likes US standards.

Question - TME1 - Audio out of synch after cutting No.54445
tcding  2006-01-30 10:33:42 ( ID:ycygwtpeo1. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I recently edited a mpeg2 file with TMPGEnc Editor without any resampling, after which the audio was visibly lagging in the edited version. I just needed to trim material from the original file. Why does the lag occur, and is there a simple fix? Thx for your help.

David J Barrett  2006-01-27 17:20:39 ( ID:th4japiu8rm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have been using this software to edit before copying to DVD-Rs from Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T recording. I have also used Video ReDo Plus after editing. Both with a trial licence. Is there a single piece of software available to do both? If so how much is it? If not what is the current cost for using/continuing to use my trial set-up? [This trial set-up was at Hauppauge recommendation.]
Many thanks in advance.

Question - TME1 - over scan masking No.54443
joelm  2006-01-26 15:06:06 ( ID:emou0qrxmh. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i have theses white lines ontop of my Mpeg files is there a way to get rid of them using this program ( TMPGE nc NET ). I don't see the option. Please advise.

Dan Witzel  2006-01-29 18:15:02 ( ID:7xy/uyj.kjh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

crop them out, also making a mpeg some odd size (360x240) will make white or green lines on the top or bottom

Question - TME1 - AVI's from Canon Powershot won't load No.54442
Wendy  2006-01-26 04:32:06 ( ID:qw3ly9dxl6g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The .avi files my new Canon Powershot A620 cannot be loaded into TMPGenc - never had this problem with any other .avi's put out by digital cameras. Is it a weird codec or something? Other programs (FX Video Converter, Digital media Converter) can open them fine, but I LOVE TMPGenc and really want to use this - any ideas?

Wendy

ErikR  2006-01-23 22:41:41 ( ID:kpc86l609yk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Question - TE25 - TMOGEnc plus audio prob with avi No.43566
markh80  2006-01-23 19:23:30 ( ID:20dgsy3rh/6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

Transfering AVI files to put on DVD, worked fine with free TMPGEnc, which has no expired so I have had to get TMPGEnc plus.

With the free version all I had to do was open the avi as the video source and it auto loaded the audio source, the same file. However with plus this does not work and when I try and load the audio source it says it will not open or if unsported.

Help

many thanks

Mark

I have the same problem! i select the avi file for the video but the audio line stays blank. if i manually choose the avi file for audio, it says it is unsupported. i'm guessing it's a version of avi (xvid, etc) that tmpeg does not support...??

John  2006-02-26 08:42:56 ( ID:noiu8netvmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You need to extract the audio from your AVI file and use it as the audio source in TMPGEnc Plus

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can extract the audio from your AVI file using VirtualDub.
You can find the latest version of VirtualDub for free at:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/virtualdub/VirtualDub-1.6.11.zip?download

To extract the audio from your AVI file:

1.) Run VirtualDub, click on "File", select "Open video file", and choose your AVI file.
2.) Click on "Audio and select "Full Processing"
3.) Click on "File" and select "Save Wave"
4.) Use this wav file as your "Audio Source" when encoding your AVI file using TMPGEnc Plus

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An alternative is to:
1.) Convert the AVI file to a M2V file (no audio)using TMPGEnc Plus
2.) Convert the wav file to a MP2 file
3.) Multiplex the two files together making a MPG file.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

To Convert the AVI file to a M2V file:
1.) Open TMPGEnc Plus
2.) Click on "Load" and select a DVD template
3.) Choose your AVI file as the "Video Source"
4.) Click on "Start"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can convert the wav file to a MP2 file using dBpowerAMP Music Converter.
You can find the latest version of dBpowerAMP Music Converter for free at:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r11.5.exe

To convert the WAV file to a MP2 file:

1.) Open dBpowerAMP Music Converter
2.) Open your WAV file (from VirtualDub)
3.) Choose Mp2
4.) Select Frequency 4800 and Bitrate 384kbps and click on "Convert"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

To multiplex the video and uadio together into a MPG file:

1.) Open TMPGEnc Plus
2.) Click on "File" and choose "MPEG Tools"
3.) Choose "MPEG-2 Program VBR" and brouse for your video input (M2V) and your audio input (MP2)
4.) Click on "Run" and it will multiplex the two files into one DVD compliant MPG file

I hope that is of help to you

I have the opposite problem. When I try to load the AVI file it says that it's not supported and only loads the audio portion.
