Just a series of checks..
What about the VFAPI plugin order (Option__Environmental Settings__VFAPI Plug-in)? Which priority order do you have?
And if you try to look at the output by doing 'Settings__Advenced___Source Range' (or Clip Frame)?
Does this heappen even if you try to encode that AVI into a MPEG-1 movie (VCD)?
All of a sudden, my tmpge (free version), does not convert any of my avi files.
I have been using this version of Tmpge for over six months. All I get is a black screen in the preview.
I have download every codec I can get and still nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to convert many avi files to mpeg but it takes a long time. I see there is a feature that says batch convert and Add to batch. How do I use them? And will it convert all the files I select from avi to mpeg?
Thanks!
I used Xpress 3.0 to copy the source of a pal dvd to my hdd. It's at 25 fps. I've encoded it to ntsc 3 times, once on CBR twice on VBR, but after about 2/3 of the way through it gets stuck on one frame for the rest of the movie. The sorce doesn't have this glitch, so I'm lossed.
So, I've been having problems with TMPGEnc and 'd2v' files. 'DVD2AVI.VFP' are in the proper directories, the VFAPI plugin in DVD2AVI is enabled, and the 'DVD2AVI Project File Reader' is enabled in the Environmental settings of TMPGEnc, but it still isn't working.
Can someone tell me what I should do now, this problem is REALLY starting to vex me. Thanks in advance.
The 'DVD2AVI.VFP'file you are using MUST be from the same version that you created the d2v filw with.
I would recommend using version 1.76 only with TMPG as this is the only version which is compatible with Smartripper files also.
Delete your current version and install the one above. Put the 'DVD2AVI.VFP' in the TMPG directory and recreate your d2v.
If the d2v still does not open in TMPG then raise the 'DVD2AVI.VFP' priority in the VFAPI plugins to top of the list.
And check this order (in mine it can load the D2V files):
DirectShow Multimedia Fila Reader = 1
... (all other) = 0
...
...
DVD2AVI project File Reader 1.77.1 = 0
AVI FVW Compatibility reader = -1
You're able to raise/lower the priority of a plugin by right-clicking it, isn't it?
