Bug report - TE40 - out of storage error No.58037
smelni  2006-08-30 12:57:18 ( ID:g0mefd7ilyc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying batch encodes and after the first file I get the following error:

"Not enough storage is available to complete this operation"

I have plenty of space on all my drives and have moved the workspace to a drive with lots of space but this still persists.

Any ideas?

antonsvideo  2006-08-31 02:18:20 ( ID:xwlvyrs0hdj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

make sure all drives are NTFS

smelni  2006-08-31 04:15:22 ( ID:g0mefd7ilyc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

they are all NTFS

antonsvideo  2006-08-31 12:31:32 ( ID:xwlvyrs0hdj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't know then, it works fine here

make sure the Temp folder location you set in preferences has enough diskspace and is also NTFS

technopath  2006-09-09 05:58:02 ( ID:b4ab8xvrx7f )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm getting the same error when trying to encode a large number of small DV files (about 140 files, total of 55 min.). Same result on two different PCs - both with 100's of gigs of NTFS drivespace.

I haven't done much testing - I was able to encode 80 of the clips at a time. I would like TMPGEnc to confirm the limitation and if it will be fixed.

napalongcasidy  2008-12-18 01:23:26 ( ID:omtzzxuf/6c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

me to - with AVCHD files on a HD - imported 16 out of 331 clips then get the error message = not enought storage available to complete this operation. I have 2gb ram with 3 HDs all NTFS with 50GB free MINIMUM on each!

Love your free stuff but STIL NOT READY TO BUY SOMETHING FROM YOU!

napalongcasidy  2008-12-18 01:27:52 ( ID:omtzzxuf/6c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Got it guys - TMPGENC is burning 1.5GB of RAM! The first 16 clips = 2GB memory - THEY MUST BE LOADING THE PROJECT INTO RAM! If so thats a first year software student mistake. If not then a teeney-weeney coincidence.

JeroenM  2009-01-06 10:06:56 ( ID:tyeverohb/m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have the same issue when converting only one 3,5 hour MPEG2 Clip to h264.
My computer has 8GB Ram and Vista 64 Ultimate.
I´m allso using CUDA as i have a Nvidia GTX 280 if that might have anything to do with it.
i noticed in Taskmanager that that the memory usage rises to 4,5 GB which is just over 50% of total ram. So lack of Ram is not the issue.
As other people in this thread i have 100´s of GB free on my Temp and project Drive( NTFS ).

Thanks.

edenney  2009-10-03 11:58:13 ( ID:jx3e9jvuldn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I was having the same problem. Couldn't for the life of me figure out what was happening. The same exact process was working on the same exact files on two of my other computers, but it would fail in the first 5% or so when I would try it on a 3rd computer which has far more storage space than the other two computers (1TB). The error message clearly points to a storage space problem, but in fact it's a memory issue (thank you to the other posters that pointed me in the right direction), TMPGENC just does a poor job with its error reporting.

The system in question had virtual memory turned off for a very specific reason, and the system only has 1GB of physical RAM. That would be sufficient for most operations and certainly for the specific purpose that system was designed for, but for memory intensive operations it's possible that it might not be enough. As soon as I turned on virtual memory and set a 2GB swap file, the problem immediately went away. If you're receiving this error message and you're sure you have plenty of storage space for both your TEMP directory and your destination directory, check your physical memory and virtual memory settings. You may need to increase your virtual memory manually if Windows hasn't assigned enough to satisfy TMPGENC.

FYI the system in question is a 3GHz P4 with 1GB of RAM, 1TB storage, running XP SP2.

Question - TE25 - Ratio Size question No.43623
rgw825  2006-08-28 00:00:04 ( ID:6xiv3yh/brf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have a bunch of videos that are 352x240 and when i burn them to a Vcd and play them in my Dvd player the picture is all stretched and blurred. They only look good shrunk down in their original size on my computer. So i have 2 questions.

1. Is there a way to convert them so they don't get stretched and stay their original size?

2. Or is there a way to put Black Borders around them so they don't get stretchced.

Thanks

Question - TE30 - Motion Search Precision No.53539
EdB  2006-08-20 18:58:13 ( ID:ktowe/pmmbg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have little to ask or complain about because TMPGenc, Editor, and Author work so well. Still, here is a question that I cannot find an answer to in Help or anywhere else:

How does 'Motion Search Precision' work. Other than doubling the processing time, what does 'High - with error correction' do in the code? Why does it increase the bitrate? Thx.

===========================================================================
From TMPGenc Help:

High - Does a more accurate motion search than standard. This will search a wider range of motion. The bitrate will increase than standard, so it is not suitable for making low bitrate clips.

Highest (With error correction) - The most accurate motion search. This will also correct the detection errors. The search will take long but will be able to detect the motion very accurate. This will also increase the bitrate.

Question - TE40 - Scene detection?????? No.58035
greendog  2006-07-23 21:03:17 ( ID:z0wdnq3.xwl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Please see my comments/questions at the end of Nick's excellent thread, "PAL DV-AVI source files not read correctly" (even though PAL had nothing to do with the problem, which, I'm guessing, was an oversight by TMPG to change a registry key).

Arron  2006-07-26 20:29:06 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't think it's a problem with the program, but something is wrong with the header data in your source file dumbass

Will TMPGEnc 2.5 ever be updated to High Definition encoding? It's been almost 2 years all ready.

Question - TE40 - install question No.58033
grasshopper  Home )  2006-07-20 02:31:11 ( ID:96jtabukw.. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hi,

I just bought the product XPRESS, and put the disk in, but
it is not being recognized. I'm running W2K.

I had downloaded the "free" tmpgenc, but it didn't seem to be able
to encode a fairly largish file, 2.3 Gb, so I went out and bought
the product.

I would have downloaded it, but I already did that 3 years ago, and
cannot locate my license number, and the msg I left for the support
line hasn't been returned (I've left 2x). Also the support web address,
www.tmpg-inc.com/support/
didn't work.

How to proceed?
Dang. I spent WEEKS of time off work making this video
dang.

antonsvideo  2006-07-20 06:36:50 ( ID:bzeqpro5/lm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

the proper support and update area is here

I don't think anyone reads this forum other than a handful of users

Question - TE40 - Anyplace to get profiles? No.58029
roundsjr  2006-07-17 20:33:13 ( ID:rmz7bb9w766 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there anyplace to download profiles?
I just want to convert HD mpg files into WMVHD files and loose nothing (i.e. keep the 5.1 audio).
Tnx!

hellerbrewing  2006-10-04 17:27:05 ( ID:rue8tat3vbc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have been searching and have not found any. There are a handful of guides out there, but none that I have seen on version 4.0 yet. I have been working on doing the same thing with DVD to WMA. I think I have it down pretty well, I just need to see how it looks in HD. If you ask me, I think Tmpg-inc (or someone else) should create a site where users could post their templates (profiles) and people could freely download them and rate them while making comments or suggestions. The best templates would float to the top of the rankings and people could greatly benefit from them. I think a feature like this would help to sell more of the company's product and therefore be very beneficial to them.

LeRoy VanHee  2006-11-04 15:11:14 ( ID:m.ie2vwon7w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I agree. 4.0 xpress is very adjustable, which means it's very miss-adjustable. There needs to be some guidence on how the various perameters are selected.

I'm looking at this product to reduce the bitrate of HD (1080i) home movies so they can be played from a 16X DVD player and still preserve the best HD quality I can. I've been fussing with the trial version for a few days, but I'm about ready to give up. Some guidence would help, or a profile that has been optimized.

gmcgary  2006-11-30 01:55:59 ( ID:m79lkpdu/4r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I bought the DIVX pro codec to use with Tmpgenc 4.0, but so far I've gotten better results by just using the the little DIVX converter I bought as well.

Question - TE40 - How to force 0-255 level mapping in Xpress 4.0? No.58028
TBC  2006-07-15 09:34:03 ( ID:algf2opsksw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I like the TMPGEnc encoding better in many ways. But i fail to get the same levelmapping for my RGB files, that are possible in CCE with a lumens setting of 0-255, instead of 16-255 so i can keep the desired dynamic range.

Is it somehow possible to force/change TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0 to use 0-255 level mapping as CCE does, and how is it done?
