What Does the Error Say????

Minion  2003-02-06 21:21:32 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don"t Think it is a C++ Error Cuz Tmpgenc was written in Delphi Code Not C++..

Ashy  2003-02-06 21:29:23 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

He probably means he's having a 'runtime' error and just needs to update his 'VB runtime' files.

Question - TE25 - Merging multiple MPEG2 files into a single file No.34185
David  2003-02-06 05:18:34 ( ID:bxyxslfxjpk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I recently trying to merge multiple MPEG 2 files containing both audio and video into a single MPEG 2 file to be loaded on a DVD. I used the Merge option in TMPGEnc and set the type to "MPEG-2 Program (VBR)" -- the problem I am having is the resulting files audio on the last few movies is not even close to being in sync with its video. I do know that each source file had about a half second of video only at the end --- how can I get it to keep the audio and video in sync (all original files were rendered by an editing software package as a single MPG file).....

wcpaul  2003-02-06 17:47:26 ( ID:q7gr550x3gw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The merge feature is not foolproof since this is not an Mpeg editing program.

Here is something I have not tried but might work. Edit the end of each clip in the merge list: click the |<< button to go back a little and then set the out point "}". This may trim any excess audio and close the last GOP. Some frames would be lost but maybe the audio will sync up better.

Report back if this works.

Minion  2003-02-06 21:19:15 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The "Merge & Cut" does not Support the accurate Editing or Mergeing of VBR Streams, wcpaul sugestoin Might help But if not Use a Real Mpeg editor like Mpeg2VCR or M2-Edit ect...

Question - TE25 - TMPG vs Discreet Edit/Ligos No.34177
Bob Flood  2003-02-05 23:12:10 ( ID:q0g7ebxahqh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hi

after pretty exhaustive analysis, i compare tmpeg 2.5 eval to Ligos Go Motion embedded in discreet edit 6.0

i find the tmpg results, using 2 pass VBR, to present type soft, compared to Go Motion.

in go motion the type is noticebly sharper.

at first i though it was because i was using a truevision AVI file as source,, and this might have been causeing loss. However after using a TGA file sequence (pretty much the highest rez i can put out) TMPG still looks soft

anyone have any suggestions? why is this? am i using wrong settings?

any feedback from users or the makers of tmpg would be greatly appreciated! (i would love to get this program smokin!)

wcpaul  2003-02-06 17:32:07 ( ID:q7gr550x3gw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This is probably a preference by the author to maintain a "film look" even on noisy material.

Settings in the Quantize Matrix sheet would affect things like text. Notice that the default matrix is not the MPEG standard. And "No motion search for still picture part by half pixel" is checked by default.

When using 2-pass VBR, set the maximum bit rate to a high value.

bob flood  2003-02-06 20:36:41 ( ID:q0g7ebxahqh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

thanx

when you say author, you mean whoever wrote the program?

i am gonna test the MPEG setting first, then see what the artifacts are from unchecking the aforementioned box

Right you've just learned a lesson.
Never ever use TMPG to open VOBs directly. As you have noticed you have no control over the streams.

Download DVD2AVI then go to VCDhelp.com to learn how to use it.

Thanks Ashy, I had seen dvd2avi but have never used it.......will give it a try. Thanks again.

Ashy  2003-02-05 23:00:55 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You need to enable the option in TMPG first. Option>Enviromental setting>CPU then check 'Open sequence files as a movie'

A little OT for here but imaging software is a good place to look. I think Ulead's inexpensive Photoimpact product can combine images into an AVI file which could then be encoded with TMPGEnc.

Minion  2003-02-05 21:25:54 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What exactly is the Problem, You say it isn"t Working But what isn"t working?? You have to Name the Files sequentially like you said "Bumpers001.tga, Bumpers002.tga, Bumpers003.tga Ect,and they have to have the Same Resolution, and if they will not Load into tmpgenc you can try raiseing the Priority of the "Bmp,jpg, tga ect File reader" in the Vfapi Plugins...and Put a Check next to the Option in the "Enviromental Settings" that says "Open Sequences as Movie"....

minion:

sorry when i say isnt working, i mean i follow the directions i see you posted to other users trying to import a sequence ie check the box in environment, bring in the first file, but only one frame shows up!

i tried frame serving them and it worked fine

now i will try the priority thang

thanx!

Boy, I never even noticed the BMP/TGA... reader in the list.

This program has features out the proverbial wazoo.

Question - TE25 - Lack of registry access No.34165
mcamino  2003-02-05 17:07:39 ( ID:ypukbbnt5km )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying to run this program on a brand new win xp computer. With 1gb of ramm and a athlon xp 2300 (i think) cpu. i am havin just one problem, since that computer i only have "user level privlages" (its a shared computer) i do not have access to write to the registry and everytimei run theprogram it says i need to be a administrator to have registry access.. i read earlier that i do not need registry access with the version changelog. so what is the work around to advoid this problem, i have a older version i bought back a few months ago and the brand new trial version. both are giving me the same problem. any suggestions or work arounds to get it to work without regisrty access?

Minion  2003-02-05 21:19:16 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There is No way to use Tmpgenc without it accessing the Registry, it does not Rely on the Registry to run But it does Need to Put a Couple entries into the Registry like so it Knows when the Trial runs out ...so there is No Way around it unless you Know how to Reprogram it not to access the registry but that would be illegal.....

Question - TE25 - cdg2svcd and TMPGEnc No.34162
worldbyte  2003-02-05 11:37:56 ( ID:1hkss7/5ob6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm using this program (CGD2SVCD) to convert some CD+G CD's into SVCD, actually this is only a frontend for 2 programs (CDG2AVI and TMPGEnc).
With the CDG2AVI, I've got no problem, but when it comes to TMPGEnc...

So, what it does is:
The CDG2SVCD, uses some tpr files to convert the AVI file plus the MP3 into a MPEG.
The only way that i know to use convert AVI+MP3 is to enable MUX. The problem is that CDG2SVCD, in some kind of batch, uses the audio file but doesn't include the "mux://", so it cannot convert the mp3 sayin "Unsupported".

Question:
1. Is there any other way to convert AVI+MP3 to SVCD, without enabling Mux?
2. Or can I edit the tpr (text mode) so that in the audio source it could include the "mux://" plus the text that comes from CDG2SVCD?

Thanks

HI!!! Im trying to encode an avi file but wen i do then en result ends up with no audio. wuts going on please help thanx

Minion  2003-02-05 21:11:51 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The Audio in the AVI file is Of a format that Tmpgenc can not decode, Either because you don"t have all the correct Filters and Codecs installed or the audio is Something like VBR MP3 or AC3..You need to extract the audio to a WAV file with something like "AVI-Mux" or "Virtual Dub" then use the WAV file as the audio source...
