Hi.

Just wondering if there is any reason why when loading a TMPGTEMPLATE,TXT file that was generated by IfoEdit, it would freeze? Is this function operational yet?

By "Freeze" I mean 99% CPU usage and no disk usage. It stays like that for at least 20 minutes.

I don't know about 20 mins but I know from other people who use it that it takes quite a long time to load the template. I haven't actually used one my self yet, but It does work apparantly.

I'm trying to create a VCD from an AVi file (Divx). So I'm using TPMG to convert it into a mpeg. file.

But at the end of coversion I don't see the movie and everything is green.

Can you help me please?

Try following:

Split video and audio file with Virtual Dub and Gold Wave. Then put together again with TMPGEnc and you have a great VCD/SVCD.

Go to Option>Enviromental setting>VFAPI plugins
Right click the 'directshow multimedia file reader' and raise the priority to 2

I was wondering if some1 could help me please! I have been encoding for a while but all of a sudden I can not conevert my avi files! It encodes for a few seconds then comes up with an error box annd a whole load of digits! Once I press ok it comes up after a few secons again. I have a stack of files to encode so could some1 tell me what the problem is! Thanks in advance!

I had the same type of error. The dialog box just said 96 96 96. I rebooted and then it was fine again.

Tried to cut a MPEG file into pieces. Added the file into "Merge&Cut" and wanted to edit it. Did set start and end point and clicked "RUN". Then following message displayed:

At address 73EF1DO4, Read error occured against address 73EF1DO4.


Can anybody tell me what is wrong ???

The problems lie in the Mysteries of the universe, the Mpeg tools are Just Very Buggy and when they don"t want to work for a Particular file there is nothing you can do to make them work, so the best solution is to use a different Mpeg editor....

Any suggestion which one ???

What version are you using? This bug was fixed in the last few versions.

Have you tried just using "source range"?

Just pick the areas you want to encode.

have a file 709 can use only 700 to put on a cd............can i compress this in any way without having to split it????????????????????

You Can Put 800Mb on a 80 minute 700mb CD if you are burning VCD or SVCD....

Im trying to convert an AVI file to mpg but when i do there is no sound

most avi or divx files have 48000 hz audio.Use virtual dub to covert audio to 44000 uncompressed wave file. Also check vcdhelp.com there are many tools there that you can use. For instance some divx movies have ac3 audio that can be tricky to convert. Good Luck!

You say you know about Audio, so I was wondering, what MP2 encoder are you using? I'm using toolame, but the problem is that it doesn't let me use Phychoacoustic mode #2, which should give better quality... Whenever I try using it the program simply crashes... Any ideas?

Use Headac3e or, SCMPX as an External encoder for tmpgenc...

My audio is garbeled after converting my raw AVI to MPEG-2. My AVI is from my DV Camcorder. I've used the Dazzle DVD Complete encoder without any audio problems ?

I am still trying to convert my avi's to mpg's but tmpg keeps closing with a message saying that there is an error.HELP

Here's the scenario:
I have an avi (23.976 fps) which I need to convert to VCD compliant (29.97 fps). This is what I have done:

#1- decompress source file with "avi audio decompressor"
#2- extract audio with "VirtuaDub"
#3- encode with tmpgenc 2.5 to mpeg2 with 3:2 pulldown
:unlock ntsc film (under "video", encode mode: 3-2 pulldown when playback & framerate, 23.976 fps(internally 29.97fps)
#4- I then take the mpeg2 and de-mux it.
#5- I then go to encode the vid file to Mpeg1 and the video gets blocks in it, now it doesn't have blocks until I get to this point....what is the problem OR what am I doing wrong?
#6- (If this succeded...I would have muxed the audio back into the video file.

What bitrate are you using to encode the file to MPEG1?

-after I wrote the last message I decided to make an svcd out of it and try it that way....well, it worked great except for the fact that the audio is a pubic hair off...barely, but it is noticable.

The Standard VCD Bitrate is Just to low to Get the best Possible Quality but raiseing it to over 1500KBS usually gets rid of most of the blocks but 2000 is better depending on the source file...

When I click on Clip Frame, sometimes it works but sometimes not and i have this message:

i have just downloaded tmpg enc.i have loads of avi files i would like turned into mpg.can anyone help,it keeps telling me my files cannot be found or are not supported.

Options to "Enviromental Settings" to "Vfapi Plugins" and raise the "Direct Show" to "2".....

The Directshow diplay value -1 and cannot be edited. How can I raise value to 2.

Hmm....simply...very simply just right click on the filter and a menu will pop up.
