Bug report - TE25 - help No.19347
tweatty  2002-04-19 05:50:06 ( ID:.iu2xtwv3b. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok i read your post that said never use tmpgenc to open vob. files ;
why???? it works great for the first one. seems like a small bug . i would much rather go strait to the vob then deal with dvd2avi and last time i used
tmpgenc it took the vfapi and worked fine. { 8 months ago ) but the new version wont take it for anything. says loading error. so thats why i tried the mpeg-2 plug in in the frist place. thanks...........

Techno  Home )  2002-04-19 08:49:08 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hmmm. OK, I understand.

It can also be for copyright reasons! :)

many people create a project in dvd2avi and then it loads in TMPGENC, as long as the plugin is installed.

Make sure that the plugin for dvd2avi is on a higher priority if it does not load the file in TMPGENC.

Make sure you use DVD2avi v1.76

I do not know what else to say! :)

Best of luck

Question - TE25 - Merge and Cut Problems No.19344
aplados  2002-04-19 05:22:55 ( ID:cpj4zzwj.qm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i have a movie file that that was created using smartripper, dvd2avi and tmpgenc. I'm trying to use merge and cut to spit the file into 2. I thought if i split it into 2 equal parts, that i could burn a cd for windows media player for my non-dvd friends and then use the latest nero to make my own dvd. However, the picture and sound are not in sync. They seem to be ok on my big movie mpg file that is uncut if i use windows media player as long as i don't try to fast forward or advance it any. When i go to merge and cut it says that "at address 74f91d04, read error occured against address 74f91d04" It still allows me to cut but after it is finished i open windows media player and immediately i can tell they are not in sync. I've read some posts here to lower or increase frame rate but have no idea what you are talking about. Could you clarify this so I can understand. And what about the read error? I don't know all the specifics but i used "forced film" in dvd2avi and used 23.976 mpeg 1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is just a bug!

if the audio is faster than the video, make sure the audio is 44100Hz and if it still causing the problem, increase the video frame rate fro 23.xxx to the next frame rate (25fps) then 29.97 etc...

never use TMPGENC do encode vob's!

if u want to do this, make a project file in dvd2avi, install the dvd2avi plugin for TMPGENC and then load the project file in TMPGENC

Also, install MPEG2 filters. (ligos or cyberlink)

Lowell  2002-04-19 05:18:48 ( ID:e0zkwppm2jo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Techno  Home )  2002-04-19 08:46:07 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPGENC does have built in MP2 support.

can i make a mpg from a svcd? or from a .dat file

Dennis  Home )  2002-04-19 09:26:46 ( ID:.uhbhxbi0ng )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes you can. If you have a DAT file on a VCD goto www.vcdgear.com and convert the DAT file to a mpg. If you have a SVCD mpg file you can convert it to a VCD in tmpgenc.

Question - TE25 - audio No.19329
stapledude  2002-04-18 22:42:47 ( ID:cxj7bgoyw1n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Really Really need help on this.
Used other encoders to convert but not the same.
Doing mpg as nstc at 41000 but most film I download are at 48000 and tmpge willn't let me use. Or so I think. When I go to convert I get a message that say audio encode wrong.
I'm assuming it because of the 48000 instead of 41000.
Help please the other encoder I use make crappy mpgs.
Probably have to use virtualdub to convert but not sure how.

HELP PLEASE!!!!

Techno  Home )  2002-04-19 08:44:23 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

load the file in virtualdub

goto audio > full processing mode
goto audio > conversion and select 44100Hz
goto audio > compression and select no compression
goto file > save wav and save the audio

open the video and wave in TMPGENC and encode

Question - TE25 - DC10-AVI Interlace error No.19326
ArnieNFW  2002-04-18 21:45:00 ( ID:6zurnxagedr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I captured a home-video with my DC10 (latest drivers), with BOTH field enabled.
I use MAKE VIDEO (AVI) in the Studio software to make ("quickly") an AVI to convert it with TMPGenc to SVCD. But on TV it looks horrible. Fast moving arms are terrible to see. I tried different setting for video encode-interlace and advanced de-interlace. Deinterlace (even fields) makes it indeed a lot better, but I loose information in f.e. subtitles.

Anther thing what noticed me is that there is every second a "hick" in the movements. Like a swimming arms, moving trains, a mini-fraction of a second it doesnt move.
SOmeone knows the answer to both questions?
