Bug report - TE25 - quicktime files not supported No.17311
Steve  2002-03-26 02:59:19 ( ID:rwg8evu/2ef )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Version 2.53 of TMPTEnc
Using referenced quicktime .mov files.
Prior versions of TMPTEnc would encode these files.
Present version shows black scene, but gives not error message.
Referenced QT .mov files are files that point to the actual
.mov files, which are files on disk directly recorded from
camera DV files, using Cinestream (formerly EditDV), which
employes Radius codec for DV files.
Important the program take **referenced** qt files, as did
prior versions of TMPGEnc, since long encoding of .mov
files is not required prior to mpeg encoding.
Help appreciated.

Question - TE25 - System Crashes after 6 seconds of encoding? No.17309
Chuck  2002-03-26 02:35:06 ( ID:nxllakev0ma )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My system keeps crashing after 6 second of encoding.

I have a 750 AMD Athelon with 756 meg of ram using an ATI 128 Raedon video card. I never had problems with any program crashing this system. I've been able to show 4 movies on 4 different monitors at the same time and no frame lose. I followed the settings for the movie I am trying to convert. It is a DVIX avi encoded movie 23.976 fps. This is the settings the program picks up
MPEG-1 720x416 23.976fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 192kbps

Anyone have a clue as how to set the setting?

Thanks

chris  2002-03-26 09:09:26 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

your aspect ratio is way out you can"t have a vcd compliant mpeg1 at 720 by 416 you can"t go bigger than the standard.........

Question - TE25 - TMPGenc Plus No.17307
MadBoy  2002-03-26 01:12:08 ( ID:du09zbxrwyw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is the 2 pass-vbr mode really any better or faster in Plus ? What does it mean "full mpeg 2 encoding" ? Has it been encoding only half way ? Worth the $48

chris  2002-03-26 09:16:57 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

yes it has only been encodeing half way ,even less because the mpeg2 only lasts for 2 weeks, and yes it is worth a lot more than $48 ,more than 10 times that much..the only encoder that is compareable in any way is the "cinema craft encoder" and if you want to but that it is going for a discounted rate of $2000.
and that encoder is only better in the speed of encodeing(5-10 times faster)
TMPGENC has better picture quality cuz you can adjust the color ect..
so I wouldn"t complain about your $48.....

Question - TE25 - How to convert an Angel Potion AVI File ? No.17302
Philippe  2002-03-25 22:29:30 ( ID:1wi3nrm.tar )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

I've got an Avi file compressed with AngelPotion V1 codec. How can i convert it into SVCD ? When i try, only the video works, the audio is not recognized by TmpgEnc.

Thanks

danman78  2002-03-26 06:17:29 ( ID:wikloyav4pj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

try vcdhelp.com - there you see instrections on how to extract the audio with virtual dub.... or if you know how, you may try that, http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm - this shows, maybe virtual dub can seperate the two then you can rejoin them in tmpge. ??

Philippe  2002-03-26 11:50:15 ( ID:ukr2xj3rh7h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I try with VirtualDub but i always have an error on audio saying that the rate and channels count for input are not compliant and in file information, the audio compression is unknown. May be because the AnelPotion codec i not correctly install, i read that it can be necessary to reinstall Divx 3.11 for this codec.
Is there a convertion tools for AngelPotion->Divx3.11 or 4.12?
Thanks

divx 5 seems to work fine in tmpgenc on my system 800mhz celeron 384mb ram..I think every ones system seems to have different quirks were one system can do something another of the same systems can"t...

rock  2002-03-26 20:14:31 ( ID:6qie8ym/zhr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

DivX 5 and the following worked for my installation.
PIII and W2K sp2

From www.vcdhelp.com:

"If TMPGEnc gives you an error message(file unsupported) when opening
the video or you just get a empty/black video preview window Be sure
that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and
also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change
the settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI
plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and
increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video."

Question - TE25 - Multiplexing No.17297
CFX-Omega  2002-03-25 21:38:08 ( ID:sbezb30us6n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Everytime I multiplex in Tmpeg, I get the error "###### s packets cause buffer underflow. The MPEG might cause error when it played." Tmpeg still creates the new file but it is not complete. For instance, a 750 MB becomes a 650 MB file when i mux an MPEG-2 to MPEG-1. Can someone let me know what the deal is? Thanks.

I had problems using the new DivX 5 Codec. When it was installed, the image was always black when using a DivX-AVI as input source. I just reinstalled DivX 4.12 and everything works fine again! Maybe you should try that!

Hi

Has anyone had problems with trying to buy Plus version ?

linkpt.cardservice.co.jp is unreachable from UK
(ping with 100% packet loss, traceroute seems to show network problem
at their end, ie from names of computers looks as if in Japan)

M.Bastian  2002-03-25 20:39:16 ( ID:lh1udvptj1c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The firewall of em is blocking pings. On TCP port 443(https) you find and SSL-Apache Server. Port 80(http) is not active.
Last 2 hops in traceroute:

[...]
23 otmts11.IIJ.Net (210.130.141.15) 448.571 ms 449.557 ms 453.737 ms
24 210.138.46.130 (210.138.46.130) 460.896 ms 461.994 ms 456.252 ms
25 * * *
[...]

Look if your link is http://linkpt.cardservice.co.jp or https://linkpt.cardservice.co.jp
Maybe they switched to SSL recently and forgot to notify their customers :-)

cheers

(Pity they don't say that. Might affect sales :)

I tried to purchase TMPEG Plus a couple weeks ago. I checked the HTML code from the Pegasys pages and was able to get to their purchase area. I tried to submit my Ccard info to purchase and got the message "invalid account". I emailed them and got a response saying that I couldn't use a free email account (Yahoo in this case) for pruchase. Probably 'cause they send the register code via e-mail. So I went through the purchase process again using a pay email account last Thursday. It went though and I was re-directed to a page that stated the transaction was completed. That was six days ago and I haven't recieved an email with the reg code or been billed on my Ccard. I guess they're just screwed up. Now I can't get to the Pegasys or the verisign.jp sites to find out what the problem is. Big screw-ups. I hope my Ccard info isn't compromised...

Question - TE25 - DVD-> VCD: Why no audio? No.17282
UCSD  2002-03-25 18:45:03 ( ID:mcjhb.jvf4g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,
I want to encode a VOB file into MPEG1 file for VCD, and I used the three filters to realize loading VOB directly by TMPGENC.
The problem is the file I got have no audio signal.
In the procedure, I have selected "Audio + Video", and audio is 44.1 @ 224.
Cloud you please have a look and tell me how to solve it?
Thanks a lot

what r u trying to say?

no harm in me putting up suggestions?

for it to be perfect, u must extract the audio as wav, be sensible.

Oh,
Thank you so much for your warm-hearted help.
I will try to seperate audio first, then multiplex audio and video. Do you mean this way?

I read from a web of Taiwan that TMPGENC can read VOB directly without seperating the audio and video, by using the filters "mpeg2decoder.ax", "mpeg2parser.ax ", and "iviaudio.ax ". If it works, the procedure will be much easier. SO I tried. Now it seems it will not work, as you said.

BTW, your quick replies really surprised me. Thank you again.

By using the DVD2avi, I get a WAV file, and I can get a mpeg file with audio.
Thank you guys so much. :)

Ashy  2002-03-26 20:23:42 ( ID:swd//k5my9f )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Don't bother wasting your time loading vobs directly into TMPG as it will take you at least 3 times longer to encode the file.
Use the project file wich DVD2AVI creates and load that into TMPG and save yourself a lot of time without losing any quality.

Steve  2002-03-28 10:59:24 ( ID:zvcflshclp2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I use a prog. called FlaskMPEG to convert. 75 min film took about 4 hours.
I am new to this game. Only problem I have is after encoding with TMPG. I try to burn the film onto CD 74mins 650mb using Nero Burn, but get error message
saying that the file is too large for the CD. Can U help.

Question - TE25 - Is there a way to stop and resume and mpeg1 encoding? No.17274
Sprewell  2002-03-25 17:15:30 ( ID:dwrkkco/zua )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm creating mpeg1 files compatible with vcd. I set it up to the better quality so some movies take over 15 hours to encode. I was wondering if there is a way of stoping the process and resume it later so i don't have to wait the 15 hours continiously. Or the only way to do this is by encoding small parts and at the end, merge them?

Sprewell

Techno  Home )  2002-03-25 18:00:27 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

no way of stop and resume, but the last idea will work.

Ashy  2002-03-26 20:37:54 ( ID:swd//k5my9f )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There is a round about way in which you can just pause TMPG if you require to use the PC for something else.
Just click the STOP button and this will pause the encoding process and bring up the box asking you if you wish to abort the process. As long as you don't click YES you will be able to resume encoding when you click the NO button.

IF you push the TMPG encoding GUI to the edge of your screen just so you can see the STOP button, when you press it you will still be able to pause encoding and at the same time keep the GUI out of the way preventing you from accidently closing it. I think this is better than having to merge a few small files together.

venya  2002-03-27 19:06:56 ( ID:gt1sbyia9uf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have much simplier solution but it works only on ACPI compatible PC's and only if you use Windows 2000 or XP.

You can choose "Hibernate" your computer rather than "shut down" during encoding. Hibernating saves all your RAM to disk and restores its back after Windows is started again. And TMPGenc will continue from the sampe point.

If you need to make small pause withour shutting down computer - call any dialog window in program (Options for example) - during this time encoding is paused.

Ashy  2002-03-28 01:52:30 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The hibernate idea sounds good if it works, but what a flipping daft and pointless suggestion for pausing TMPG by clicking one of the options.
As soon as you click anywhere on your desktop it resumes, so what would be the point in pausing it if you can't do anything else. Using my method it doesn't restart until you cancel the abort.

Sprewell  2002-03-28 21:22:51 ( ID:dwrkkco/zua )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just want to thank all the answers i got. I'm using the merge option with the correct button. Thx.

Bug report - TE25 - Error in quartz.dll No.17272
Ashwin  2002-03-25 09:18:15 ( ID:a/.vv8mwzyj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I had a 530 MB MPEG file with some errors. Media Player (all the versions I tried) would hang at a certain spot. VCDGear couldn't fix it. So I tried to remultiplex it with TMPGEnc 2.5.3. However, even this program gives an error (at about 62%) in quartz.dll (crashes). I have tried both directX 6 and 8. No use. What is the actual problem?

chris  2002-03-26 09:36:52 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

you answered your own question, your file has errors, and there is no easy way to fix it.probably at about 62% of the way through your file you have some corrupted frames, all I could sudgest is to try to run it through virtua dub and scan for errors and mask the bad frames and make a copy,or,if the file os only bad at one spot you could cut out the bad spot and merge the files back together..but i think these are your only solutions...
