I am getting so frustrated, I can't encode some files as it keeps crashing on me, everything I try comes up with a similar error, but the numbers often change. I am trying to encode some XDVDs. This is the message I get........
The output process terminated abnormally (8)
Exception Code : 0xc0000005 (this sometimes changes)
Faulting Address : 0x63d3fb3C (this sometimes changes)
Faulting Module : MovieMPEG.vme (Base address 0x63960000)(this sometimes changes)
Any ideas ? It is really annoying. I have tried different source files, and changes source and output drives, but it still crashes, usually within the first 25% of the files. I have also tried with and without batch queue usage.
Thanks. I have a feeling it may be a over heating issue, it seems to happen during the day and evening but works after midnight approx, we are going through a heatwave here (for UK standards anyway) and my PC is kept in a summer house which gets up to 34 degrees. What I have found is that if the temp of my CPU is under 72 degrees then it is okay, as soon as it goes above that for longer than a few minutes the encode fails. My PC seems to run okay though and doesn't reset or hang. This happens with Authoring Works, Mastering Works, and Handbrake.
I can only presume it is this, as it doesn't make any other sense that it works with the temp in the 60's but not the 70's. I thought 70's would be fine though, but perhaps the software has an inbuilt temp gauge that cuts out when it gets to 73 degrees or above.
I am going to try and find a way to reduce my overclock that was done for me.
The proxy file editing feature of TAW makes editing quite efficient. However, MPEG Smart Renderer doesn't seem to include proxy file support. Is there a way to enable this or add support?
Thanks!
Please can you give me a link to download older versions of this.
I just installed the latest version and it is buggy:
1. when importing clips, coming up with 'smart rescue', even though importing those same clips in older versions worked absolutely fine.
2. wont let me drag and drop in a clip, if ive gone to the edit page then come out of it. The edit window freezes, and i have to restart the program. Again, never did this with the old version.
It started doing these things with previous newer versions, and I was uninstalling and going back to the first version i got months ago - this time i thought 'might as well try the latest version released in june' and its got all the same issues, as previous newer versions.
please please can you just send me a link to an older version so i can use that immediately.
I have to agree that the latest version crashes/freezes quite frequently, in the most basic of tasks/actions. Also, compared to the other two main TMPGEnc applications, SR4 is slow and feels sluggish. Since it's a simpler application, I'd expect it would run much smoother. I really hope they'll optimize it soon.
I wish to use it at work and home. If both computers are NOT connected at the same time will I still be able to use either one? Or, do I need to purchase TWO separate licenses though I'm the only user?
I strongly suggest that you contact Pegasys about this registration matter, because their softwares do contact their server once a while to check for validation to avoid piracy. Their server could falsely believe, that your fully legal purchased license has been a victim of piracy, because it suddently registeres two different IP adresses where it is installed.
I'd like a clarification on this, too. In the shopping FAQ it's stated that the software cannot be used on 2 machines. However, it also states that it can only be used on one machine at a time, and that "You can install the software and validate your license on another machine provided you first completely uninstall the software from the previous machine".
So, is possible to use it on 2 computers without running into validation problems? Is it really necessary to uninstall first and will that prevent validation problems? It sounds a bit silly having to uninstall-reinstall every single time.
I wouldn't install it on more than one computer within a short amount of time; that will lock the license and you'll have to contact support to get it unlocked. What's a short amount of time? I don't know exactly, but I'd wait a couple of days before installing on a second machine. I don't think you have to uninstall it each time though.
Basically I wouldn't use it on two machines unless you are using it very infrequently. If you are using it on both machines every day, then you should buy two licenses.
Stereo to stereo is very limited, stereo to surround 5.1 would serve much more, I hope to use someday vst 5.1 to 5.1 or 7.1, VI VST Suite, DTS Neural Surround upmix 2.0 - 5.1 - 7.1. or the like.
I don't think you have to pay anything to Pegasys for using their software to create a DVD and then sell it, but as a thank you to them, you could mention Pegasys Inc. and what software you used in the end credits, just like you also see the major movie compagnies do in their end credits.
If you want to use music and videoclips in your DVD that is copyrighted, then you have to contact each of the copyright holders to get their written permission first. You have to tell them very specific what you would like to use from the works they own, so that they are exactly aware of what you would like to use.
They might also give you a few guidelines you have to follow if the OK is given by them.
How may I know, for sure, that I do not have to pay royalties to Pegasys?
I have asked Pegasys through their support facility but they have not given me definitive answers.
I already read it.
It says tha the software is "royalty bearing"
and stipulates the following:
E. Limitation.
Third Party Royalties Paid. Customer acknowledges that the Software,
including but not limited
to video, audio, file, stream and any creation of which generated by the Software may
necessitate the payment
of licensing royalties or other amounts to third parties who hold certain intellectual property
rights except for your own private, personal and non-commercial use.
Unless otherwise noted specifically herein, Pegasys expressly has no
responsibility for any royalties or other amounts or any claims on
account of third party intellectual property rights involved in
Customer's such use, creation or distribution.
Reading that, I would say you don't have to pay Pegasys anything. The key phrase to me is "may necessitate the payment of licensing royalties or other amounts to third parties who hold certain intellectual property rights." In other words, they're mainly talking about IP, which has nothing to do with Pegasys unless you are putting images/content that was created by Pegasys into your video.
You would need to pay royalties if you are using content from a third party (i.e. a movie/TV clip) or if you want to use certain logos like the DVD Video and Blu-ray logos. You may need to pay royalties if you are using MPEG and AAC encoders but that info would be in the MPEG LA and AAC license info that they linked to.
If you mean "losslessly" then no. TMPGEnc Smart Renderer 4 will do that, although it is not an advanced editor/converter like Mastering Works. Check the product page for details.
When opening a videofile, you get the Clip addition window. Here you will see the data about your video clip.
Here just change Scan type to Progressive and Aspect ratio to Display 16:9
Output will then be done like this also.
I have a Top menu with 3 tracks and one clip on each. And 3 thunbnails(play-buttons)linked to them. All works very well.
Now i wanted to add two new clips plus thumbnails, but I am stuck.
I can add new tracks and clips, but if I do there is automatically created a second page. I dont't want a second page.I just want to place some new clips and link-buttons)on my page #1. That seems not to be possible.
Do I have to open the Menu wisard and recreate the whole menu again?
If I do,all settings will be lost. Have I missed something?
I am puzzled about adding more then one file in the Source programme. I can import a single file and it appears as a green bar in the Title List. If I then try to add a second file, the system 'bleeps' at me, and will not accept another file to the list. What I am doing wrong?
That's definitely not normal. You should be able to add more files just like you added the first one.
You can try to add multiple files at once if they are in the same directory. Just ctrl+click to select multiple files.
