Bug report - TAW4 - HDV import stops on gaps No.62173
Markguy  2009-08-23 21:05:51 ( ID:ty51vcr2uqw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying to import my HDV tapes but the "Capture from HDV/DV Camcorder" Source wizard keeps stopping at each gap in the tape and I have to keep pressing the "Start Capture" button. I have about 3 seconds of blank footage in between some shots on my tape.

Is there any way I can increase the giveup time limit to 10 seconds rather than the current 1 second? Or just force the program to import the whole tape even if it finds empty footage?

same problem did you find a solution?

Free talk - TE40 - Conversion from TS files to MKV. No.59023
Nimbus3  2009-08-23 20:02:06 ( ID:sbxxe91qknf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just wonder if there is support for conversions from TS-files to MKV High-res.

tkrave  2009-08-24 18:59:18 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't think mkv is supported yet. However, they just added mkv support to their MovieStyle program, so it may not be too far off for 4.0 XPress.

Nimbus3  2009-08-30 02:40:56 ( ID:sbxxe91qknf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanx for your input "tkrave". It will be nice if they add it to TMPG Enc 4,0 Express. My sattelite reciver is recording in TS files on the harddrive inside the reciver. I want to convert them into *.MKV, and store it in my TVIX multimedia player.

if its not a space issue then its a hdd issue, ie there is soemthign wrong with the hardware.

i woudl use tunetup utilities to scan the file system on the hdd and also scan for bad sectors, and then during reboot it will go througha process to repair.

after this defrag the system and then re try.

digital3d  2009-08-23 17:10:57 ( ID:o3wxgmlsdi2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

NO HD problem! If I save on different partition (C: or D: or E: or F:), same error

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-08-24 00:29:13 ( ID:/mc2urzlila )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i would say re do your os maybe their a screw up inb the os which is causing this.

edenney  2009-10-03 12:10:12 ( ID:jx3e9jvuldn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Since this question is a month and a half old, you may well have found a solution and just didn't report it here. I had the same problem with over 750GB of free storage space, but I resolved it. Check your virtual memory settings on your computer and increase them manually if necessary, or increase your physical memory. If you don't have much physical memory and don't have enough virtual memory, it will throw this error regardless of how much physical storage space you have available. I posted about this already in another thread.

Good luck

Question - TE40 - Tmpeg Conversion to Mpeg2 No.59015
Cj  2009-08-22 21:54:38 ( ID:tdionadbiwl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,
this is my first time posting so you will excuse me if i am not up to speed.
I am using a PC runnig XP service pack 3.
I have the latest version of tmpeg installed 4.7.3.292.

I am trying to create a template that will allow me to convert a video file to an mpeg2 file with an odd pixel size 1672 x 471.
I am finding it hard to get tmpeg to accept these settings.
I can change the pixel size and bitrate but cannot get the program to save this as a template,i know mpeg2 has a maximim and minimum pixel,

Some of the setting i am using in the format section are
Output stream type-ES (video Only)
Bitrate-12000
Dispaly Mode-Progressive
GOP -I frames only

These settings have been given to me and are required for the media to work in the device i am using.

Any advice would help,

Regards C

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-08-23 08:01:19 ( ID:/mc2urzlila )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

quite simple it wont let you do it.

try using megui for the res adjustments, it uses avisynth

but this will either be for before you encode or after for your last output format

Cj  2009-08-26 15:06:51 ( ID:6qsyvlnrli6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,
figured it out with some help.
Under the profile tab i needed to change the profile and level to "MP@HL"
to allow the pixel size to be at the settings required.

Thanks

Question - TE40 - creating bluray disks... codec/bitrate is unimpressive No.59010
africamarty  2009-08-21 17:17:22 ( ID:dfditwmikpk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm using tmpgenc4 with the spurs engine and it's great for fast encodes but does not live up to the max potential that the bluray spec has to offer.. the bluray spec allows for 40,000 kpbs video bitrate and 8,000 audio bitrate with the video codecs mpeg2,AVC(h.264) and VC-1. But tmpgenc4 only offers a bluray option in the mpeg2 format ( wich is the worst compression codec of the three ) why not offer a spurs engine option for bluray AVC(H.264) ??? i'm sure this could be implemented as the spurs engine cards support mpeg2 aswell as AVC(H.264). Another problem is the with the bluray Mpeg2 profile the video bitrate has a max bitrate of 32,000 kbps... why not the max possible video bitrate of 40,000 kbps ??? since the mpeg2 compression is qiute bad to begin with, i think thr extra 8,000 kbps would help. Just my thoughts.. what do you guys think ??

regards Marty.

Mysteron  2009-08-22 14:22:32 ( ID:vi4sdulbd3o )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You're quite right and I agree with you.

Does this new version work under Windows 7?

Like Zingbot I do not want to pay nearly $100 to find out that it doesn't work under Windows 7.

The trial works ok under Windows 7 but that doesn't mean the regitered version will.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-08-23 08:04:05 ( ID:/mc2urzlila )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

corect me if im wrong here but for avc would you choose the quicktime codecs toe ncode to .

and yes its rather odd for them not to include this in the bluray template settings.

and for the windows 7, would you not think its rather odd for a company to let a trail version work and then not have the master version not work on windows 7?

tkrave  2009-08-24 18:48:46 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If the trial works, the retail version should work. It's even listed as working on the their Windows 7/Vista compatibility page:
http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/support/winvista_support.html

africamarty  2009-08-25 05:01:59 ( ID:dfditwmikpk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I received the following email from tmpgenc4 staff when i emailed them about the above issue.

"Dear Mr. Wichtmann,

Maybe, you can still create you own BD ouput profile by using the
Generic MPEG-4 output as a base then adapt the encoder settings to the
requirements of the BD format.

In MPEG-2, the maximum bitrate is 32,000 kb/s.

Yours Sincerely,

Olivier Graves."

However the mpeg2 spec states :

MP@HL can do 1920x1080 at up to 30fps with a bitrate up to 80Mbps in either Progressive and Interlaced formats.
MP@HL can do 1280x720 at up to 60fps with a bitrate up to 80Mbps in Progressive formats.

However tmpgenc4 using the spurs engine output maxes out at a video bitrate of 32Mbps in MP@HL in either of the above mentioned settings. If you wont give us a AVC(h.264) bluray profile why not just max out the video bitrate of the bluray mpeg2 profile to that of the max bluray spec and have the Mpeg2 bluray profile MP@HL have the ability to raise the video bitrate up to 40Mbps.

Question - TAW4 - Delete play button No.62171
Chris  2009-08-21 15:39:39 ( ID:zjd2v5k8ejo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have created a dvd menu and of each sub-menu for the chapters there is a play button..I have tried to remove it under display item for the dvd meuns BUT it does NOT delete properly..I have taken the font and made it 0. and then moves the box to off the screen. any ideas??

tkrave  2009-08-21 19:17:56 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

How does it not delete properly?

Make sure you uncheck "Display 'Play track button' item" and not the play-all button (unless you want to delete that too).

Works for me.

Question - TME3 - BD output question No.61180
Pewe  2009-08-21 08:19:20 ( ID:frtgxhjlhoc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When I output my project in BD format, it appears to create the necessary folders/structure.
However when I burn to disc and try to play the movie it won't play - for example PowerDVD says the disc is in Unsupported format.

Why is this?

tkrave  2009-08-26 18:40:10 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Do you have right PowerDVD version? Their website says only the Ultra version can play BD format.

If it's not that, it may have to do with the BDAV format, but that's just a guess.

Pewe  2009-08-30 10:34:07 ( ID:frtgxhjlhoc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My copy of PowerDVD plays other BluRay, so it must be the format.

I am not sure what the settings for the format should be (for UK) - can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks

Question - TE40 - Audio delay issue No.59005
dalime  2009-08-19 05:59:43 ( ID:guce2pr3be2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm trying to recode a simple avi file but use a different audio source that needs to be delayed. When I choose ANY delay value the first ~10 seconds of the video is silent, then the audio kicks in. Weird thing is that the audio is not starting at the beginning of the audio clip. It is starting at the same spot it would if I had chosen a zero vaue delay. Negative delay is working though.
I am totally perplexed. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried diffent formats for the audio source too.
Thanks.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-08-23 08:22:38 ( ID:/mc2urzlila )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

dont forget its not done per sound, its adjusted per MS millsecond.

so -10 will literally do nothing.

10 seconds i think is 100000

Question - TAW4 - Avi import problem No.62166
Rick  2009-08-19 03:50:37 ( ID:glgoobzsfdk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I can not import some avi files. Message is: error just sound no movie.
Cant i have more chance if i install more codec like K-Lite or TMPGenc use only owner codec?

tkrave  2009-08-19 20:14:21 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You should install whatever codec your avi file uses. Use a program like GSpot to figure out the codec.

Rick  2009-08-19 22:18:40 ( ID:0nwwelhvvfc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Very nice program,
I need H262 codec.
Than You.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-08-20 03:50:00 ( ID:bh9mdsy8adj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok well normally that would mean that the codecs installed need to be reinstalled, system cleaned for errors, rebooted.

for some reason the tmpgenc products STILL can not handle some mp3 vbr audio which it then refuses to open the audio.

so use nandub, open the original file, you want to extract the wav file only.

and then go to audio and deselect option, then video and select direct copy and save avi, this will save the avi by itself and should take less than 20 secs.

use the new video into author and then load the wav file.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-08-20 03:56:20 ( ID:bh9mdsy8adj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok onece again , whats the point doing a password for here to edit the user posts when the authenticaiton system doesnt work.

ok, the H262 codec is intel's mpeg2 codec and its blooming old.

which means that the codecs you have are needing to be unistalled as above, reboot and install from http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

I would tick all of the items, and then later on when you get to be more knowedgable about codecs you could easily unsiatl and reisnatll to what codecs you want.

John Chen  2009-08-19 03:30:12 ( ID:extt.b5vu6f )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The lastest version is announced, but it's only for English version.
The Chinese version (CHT/CHS) is still at Ver.4.6.3.267.....
I don't know why the chinese support is so slowly and unreasonable...
